Actually im pretty sure they do have dark skin. im pretty sure thats already been mentioned.. (and yes its correct, they have black skin) ontopic; as said before, the bears fur dosnt look like fur. i hope you dont mind but i played with it a bit. a basic rule i made for myself when doing animals with long fur like this (bears, tigers, lions, etc) is dont dither if you dither, you get a smooth looking surface, and animals with long fur certainly dont have a smooth surface. if you zoom in on my edit you'll see how i randomly added darker 'lines' in the direction which the fur would seem to flow, making it appear more three dimensional. this was only a quick edit, but you should be able to see what i mean i also changed the colout of the nose, ears and eyes

first of all, sorry for the late reply. i got home yesterday and was really tired, so pretty much just slept lol. with the stars, i wasnt that worried, and im annoyed at all with you for using them, honestly. i was just curious if someone had decided to use the same 'style/type' of star as me. once again sorry if it sounded as though i was annoyed/accusing you, it was just for my own curiousity. \ ill be looking forward to when you post the updated wolf, goodluck with it :wink:

awesome thanks greenslime :D i enjoy taking photos of scenery etc.. just for fun, not professionally though. with the landscape pictures with the wonky horizons, i was actually using the camera and just taking photos randomly, not actually trying to get decent ones, really. i have others, if you'd like to see them, of some nice cliffs etc. and yeah you were correct, that definatly is the effect of digital zoom with some of the animal photos. (oh, all of the photos have been cropped as well, to make viewing easier on here)

the competitioon was to name the two cubs. i submitted two names and the zoo owners chose them, so i won and got to see the cubs. we unfortunately dont get to keep the car, it was only lent to us for the three days. very nice car :D

pretty good picture :) dont really have much cc though.. and in regards to pencils.. i have so many types its not funny. i draw/sketch tigers, horses, and other animals IRL and use 9B to B, F, and H-6H pencils, as well as charcoal and an actual graphite pencil. i generally use 3B for rough linework (press very lightly) b for basic shading of an animal, 2B for shadows, and then come along with a H pencil (differnt ones for different textures) and add the fur texture.. but yeah. shall stop spamming, sorry!

well the male is already 17kg at 2mnths of age, theyre already very strong, but luckily well behaved. and what do you mean half the size of a human? your kidding lol. the cubs paws are the size of my hand already. and IMO its not a waste of cuteness... but meh. its like people buying a puppy cause its "cute" and it grows up and wasnt trained properly so it gets dumped and ends up in a pound and then ends up dead. so. yeah. but these cubs were so cool :P bottlefeeding them was fun.. lol.

well as some of you may know, i won a competition by naming the two new white lion cubs in sydney, australia. on the 19th peugeot paid to dly my parents and brother down to sydney, gave us a new peugeot 407 to drive down to mogo zoo (near batemans bay for you australians) we also got free accomodation worth about $300/night in an awesome hotel. so yeah.. thats the background. heres the photos! the car the plane; Pictures of Tamu, the male cub Pictures of Kito, the female cub Pictures of both Kito and Tamu. can you tell which is which? i can :P a really nice looking stag gorgeous snow leopard pictures Red panda Meerkats (these guys are awesome, i love em, theyre fantastic animals to watch!) also here are some landscape pics when we went sight-seeing i know some of these pictures arnt the best of quality, thats mostly cause i reduced teh filesizes to be uploaded etc, but oh well! ima gonna do some photomanips, me thinks so how bad a photographer am i? :lol: note: my mum took some white lion cub pics, and so did the zookeeper, so yeah.

its a lot better than most wolves ive seen pixelled, but as with all pixels (even those done by real pro's) there are a few faults. at the moment, it loks like youve pillowshaded the wolfs head (ie, the animal looks smooth and shiny, like plastic, with positions youve put the highlights and shadows) the wolf lacks texture, dosnt look like it has fur. the ears are too large, and from teh way you have the dark lines around them makes the ears look as though theyre not joined to the head. and id try to fix the eyes up, unless your going for that cartoony look :wink: if you like, copy and paste my avvy into ms paint or whatever program your using and zoom in, youll see how i textured teh wolf. (i pixelled it myself a while ago) it may help you with adding the texture. edit; also, just a question. im not accusing you of anything, im just asking. did you make those stars yourself? i only ask because theyre exactly the same size and shape and identical colour of the ones i made for a christmas avvy a lil while ago, and ive never seen someone do stars the same way as me before. as i said before, im certainly not accusing you of copying them, im just curious :wink:

:shock: wow i actually checked the speed you had it set at... 12754/100ths of a second, and the second slide (penguins eyes are closed) its at 800/100ths of a second.. lol.. the first slide for mine is 200, then 20, then 100, then 10, and it repeats... oh, and to the author.. on topic :) i do like the sig, though i think the bg could be improved. it seems kind of flat and 'boring'.. for some reason i just dont like it. i do, however, like your idea for making the penguin blink :wink:

fixed the animation a bit, think it looks better... and Mementh, i havnt seen your version blink once :shock: it MUST be slow.. or, a version with less KB

awesome, thanks. dont have to worry now :D also.. is there anychance the theme can be "parables and/or fables" ? i can do something related to fables, but having trouble with parables.. to be honest, i cant think of any idea with the theme 'parable.' fables and parables are almost identical, ones just more realistic, the other not-so realistic, but still teaching a hidden message.

.... :lol: oh, and tomdavies, the themes "white" and "cloud" would be easy for me. for white, i'd probably pixel a white tiger/lion, for cloud i'd pixel some animal as a cloud, with others around.
