The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Discussion Thread
They described the interface in an apple scenario comparison--"What if Apple created a fantasy game?" From what I've read, it sounds incredible. An entire menu dedicated to weapons and armor, and every single slot shows a 3d model of said weapons/armor...spells and perks show constellations. Even the map is basically just the camera zooming out from your point of view to the entire 3D map. All from Gameinformer...I'm not sure if its detailed in this thread anywhere. Weapons and armor had a menu in oblivion. I was thinking more, separating different weapons, swords have a category, hammers have a category, axes have a category, torso has a category, shields have a category. And from there, sort them by power, least to greatest, or give players the option to choose how to sort them. Weight, power, light, heavy, magic, enchanted. In Oblivion swords, axes, bows, hammers, and arrows were all lumped together, if I had too much weight i'd need to sort through it to find something to throw out, and sort through my current weapons to find the ones I wanted. On weapons it wasn't as big a deal, but on armor when all of it, including normal clothing is thrown together, it's hell trying to find anything. It almost made me want to learn how to make mods to sort it better.

Hidden Gems
Live A live. Only released on SNES and not outside Japan. Incredibly fun, and while it doesn't have an epic story, it's pretty obvious in the atmosphere, thats not what they're going for. Never got a remake and I never hear it mentioned. Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II. Even when this game was new, no one really talked about it. I guess the first one must have been terrible. I cant really say much about the plot, it was years ago that I played it, and I never beat it then, recently found my CD and its held up pretty well, gameplay is still pretty good, although the FMV sequences have this weird thing where they fill in little pixels at a time in a scene. Also, it doesn't try to cash in on the success of the movies, the story takes place after the empire has fallen, and I don't ever recall hearing mention of the characters from the movie. New Villain, new hero, different settings, a few problems with it crashing, but overall a nice game and fun. Currently playing it after finding my copy, wanna beat it this time. So since most TIFers are console gamers, and rarely travel into the online world for flash games (i'm assuming), i'ma throw a few of them out here. Sonny. What to say about Sonny, you are a zombie that was brought back to life before you became a complete zombie, and still retain your mind and intelligence. It's a really great story, fun to play, and not afraid to be a little funny at the same time. For the original it's not too important you play it on armor games, it has the same content on all sites, but for Sonny 2 if you play it, it has a class specific to armor games that is locked on other sites, and I like the class. Sonny 2 Ge.Ne.Sis Not too much new here in the way of battle, you've seen the combat before, this one is very story intensive, and I loved every minute of it, my computer crashed before I finished it and I didn't get the chance to see the ending. There's only scripted battles, so no random battles to grind on. Epic Battle Fantasy 3 If you didn't guess from the name, this game is a parody of the FF series it's its own story, and again fun to play. I recommend number 3, before then it didn't have much of a plot, you couldn't freely walk around, it was just battle after battle, while still fun you arnt missing much, it will recap the events at the beginning.

The interface wasn't terrible, items and spells just needed to be sorted better. If they can do that then i'll be happy.

Things that annoy the HELL out of you.
You've got to have a backup plan in case somebody has basic knowledge of the world. You should ask about the most recent war said country was in. Good point. And if that fails, ask them who their leader was in 1645. If they can't answer who was leading Japan in 1645, they MUST be complete idiots. Pfft. Bill Gates?

religion
You guys seem to misinterpret what I meant. Nad asked why we need religion, while we don't need religion, the morals are what we take away from it. We don't need religion to teach morals, but it's a collection of what we hold as morals. As for the things that talk about slavery, and etc. The constitution mentions slavery as well, but we don't have slavery anymore. It happened with the bible, it happens with current documents, we sort of just X out certain parts. The question was asked and I answered it, the answer may not have necessarily applied to me, after all i'm not religious, and it may not have applied to you, but that does not mean it wasn't the correct answer. You still do follow the morals of whatever religion you were raised, whether you believe it anymore or not.

"We have absolutely no f-ing idea" is not a "perfectly reasonable" scientific explanation. How did the Universe come to exist? Where did matter, gravity, electromagnetic forces and nuclear forces come from? You have no idea, but you act as if science has explained it all. Hell, the particle accelerator at Cern is looking for a "God" particle - something that gives matter mass. That's not an explanation. Yes, indeed a perfectly reasonable scientific explanation is "It was god." You act as if we have no clue what the start of the universe was, like we don't even have a guess. Ok so we have theories, what sets a god aside from a theory? What makes god real and not just another theory that someone threw out there? Saying "god did it" is the easy way out, you can say it, and not have to think about it again. The existence of god seems to be based on the lack of evidence otherwise. If I say i'm Barrack Obama, would you believe me? No, you'd ask me to prove it, the only reason you don't take proof that there isn't a god is that "He works in mysterious ways" and we can't comprehend what god is. Of course if we proved there was a god, it'd be accepted, but there can never be any proof to disprove god. That's the reason that this debate will never end though, since god "works in mysterious ways" we can't disprove him in your eyes. Why? (this isn't me being snarky, I'm curious.) Religion sets our morals, and it's what we were taught for the most part. Regardless of if you believe in god or not, you still hold true to the morals that were taught to you from religion. I believe at heart, most people in the world are [wagon], and they need that moral system. Every organized religion has always been a set of morals in a book. Don't kill random people, don't defile the gods' temple, etc. What was important to that society.

People who turn their hazard lights on and park in fire lanes. It's annoying, blocks the road, and makes it hell on me when I need to get a stack of shopping carts around your fking car. Also i'm probably going to get banned if I don't get out of the habit of censor avoiding with [bleep].

Fix'd. Also, you guys are lucky your schools announce the night/day before. Here its literally either 20 minuets or few hours before school starts when they make the decision to shut down the schools. That's how it normally works here too. But the storm that's coming has apparently got the school district terrified right now. Yeah me too, we were supposed to expect catastrophic events, loss of electricity, etc. It snowed a good amount, but that's all. I heard a prediction 10-15" of snow, winds up to 40 mph, rolling blackouts, severe whiteouts, roofs caving in under the snow. I really think the weatherman's daughter woke up on Saturday and said "Dad, I really don't want to go to school for about a week". and he then made up this story about how we're going to enter into a new ice age for the next few days.

It's hard to get by with 80GB? Try 15. EDIT - Virgin 50mb/s contract is uncapped and unthrottled, perfect for an addict like you :D  They even do such low caps these days?! What is this, 2005? And I don't think I can get those high speeds here :P The Sky Ultimate is uncapped afaik so that'll do, we've had Virgin Media before and it was decent but got too expensive. What... 15 is low? The lowest I can get is about 2GB. I have 15GB each month though, and it's enough for me and my family (usually). I lol at your pain. No download cap here in 'merica. You pay one price and you have internet for the entire month.

Reveal Confessions, Secrets & Regrets...
That's the way I learned it, at least. This. Soggy waffles are gross. I learnt it the soggy Weetbix way. Soggy Weetbix is much more disgusting than soggy waffles. Unless you have had both I don't think you can accurately make that comparison. kthxbai. Also, Weetbix?

Reveal Confessions, Secrets & Regrets...
I'd say that's a good life lesson anyway. If some guy comes up to you and asks you if you want to enter Santa's workshop, its a good idea to decline. I was taught never eat soggy waffles. Edit: ha, the ad at the top of this page in naughty Santa Ecards.

What Game(s) Did You Last Get and What Are You Playing?
You're making me want to start a new game of oblivion with a bunch of mods now. :( Why sad face? Its a fun game with good replay value. Whats not to love? Also, for some reason, i'm not gaining XP towards my next level, I don't think I have a mod for that, i'll have to read up on cute elves, see if that has anything to do with it.

What Game(s) Did You Last Get and What Are You Playing?
Spent 3 hours today remodding my copy of oblivion to play through as a mage, and my magic mods don't work :wall: Though I have a pretty good idea of why my magic mods wont work. Still, it means i'll have to restart the game, also for some reason some of the custom classes arn't showing up and i'm missing a few of the hairstyles. I have no clue why that one is happening though.

I seem to get a random item from townspeople before my hero goes to sell stuff, but that might have been in before Cardinal. Way before cardinal.

After a certain amount of time (couple of days?) they revive themselves. Also: Name Toto «Garish» Species dust bunny Level 14 Age about 2 months Status dead  :wall:   I'ma spam my hero telling him to revive Toto and see if that does anything. Your hero will only revive your pet under 2 conditions: 1) You have enough money 2) You are about to leave town and visit the temple to pray. Whenever you visit a town, your hero goes through certain phases. The "pray at temple" phase restores 20% Godpower and is always the last thing you do in town before you leave. I can hope cant I? I don't wanna lose my pet. But it did nothing.
