Okay... so scratch the G.E.-related part of the issue. It still stands though that if you use up things like spirit shards for summoning training, then there will still be some loss of your 'gp equivalent' through locked exp exchange and non-return of some shards via NPCs that break the summoning pouches back down into shards and such. If you're willing to put up with that, then enjoy... but I still see that as being unstable. :| I honestly still think that @ixfd64's idea of providing actual grouped currency notes should happen, however only with 3 grouping levels like I have posted as a possible tweak to this suggestion. Simply, it would provide a standard that doesn't have this potentially perceivable issue of vulnerability, and I happen to like the elementary feeling of stability that this suggestion provides. ~D. I can see I've gotten behind on this thread, not being able to keep up for a few days. Anywho, getting back to the topic... -.- Anyone here ever heard the phrase "Have your cake and eat it too", or in this case "Have your gp and your exp too"? If you train summoning, what you were using for a higher denomination of gp gets perma-locked into exp instead, unusable for the other. That in itself auto-defeats the ability of Summoning Shards to act as a form of currency, but then try tossing in the effects of the Grand Exchange, and the effects of all those new accounts being made that have those unwanted trade restrictions. Effectively, trying to set a locked value upon such a skilling item doesn't work, as the actual exchanged in-game value can differ on a massive scale. Plus, if you run afoul of those trade restrictions, it can possibly block a trade completely. In the end, you're forced back to an actual in-game currency, and that in itself is why this thread got started. So, having Jagex produce compressed currency packaging is actually beneficial to the economy design, given possible situations that can (and probably will) arise as gameplay progresses. :geek: Now, admittedly, I haven't played RuneScape myself in some time. So I don't honestly know if those Trade Restrictions are still in place for new accounts. If they aren't, feel free to post back here and tell, as that was one of the many reasons I left and I would find it an after-comfort to know they had been discontinued. :-k ~D. V. 149 I am seriously glad Caffeine can't actually do this. Seeing it in Caveman times makes it scary. :ohnoes: ( http://www.gocomics.com/bc/2015/01/25 ) ~D. V. "WTF... Moon?" Devnull

24747 Nope... I got "Birthday Weekend Shanghai'ed" (in case somebody doesn't get it, read "Shanghai'ed" as "Hijacked") instead, including my previous Friday being extremely far from what I had originally planned it to be. ~D. The 'You're Banned' Game (over 38,000 banned!)
Glad to see you, @Shazarabbit! Hope to see you around more! Now, unfortunately for the purposes of this thread, I must fire some random ban at you. Let's see... :-k You're banned for summoning a giant wave of Killer White Hedgehog-Rabbit-Mix Monsters. Yeowch, those spiky hairs are sharp! :ohnoes: ~D. V. "RUN! She's brought a monster army!" Corrupt a Wish (IT's over Nine Thousand)
Oh, really? Well, we can grant this, and you develop some ability to deflect fire. But, you find that you become extremely slow (speed drained), stupid (intelligence drained), and weak (strength drained) every single time you dare to eat glass. :XD: (Reference:  http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Raw_Glass) Now, as for this... In 2006, I don't remember them having 144p mode. However, they DID have 720p, which I found rather useful. I think I just blew your wish corruption out the window here! As for a wish... Hmm... :-k I wish for the genie to teleport somebody else into this thread and have them make a really funny wish. :twss: ~Mr. D. V. "I've left a funny opening here. Don't miss it." Devnull

This only works if you don't train summoning. :notalk: Alternate currency stacks definitely help in this situation. :D ~D. V. "Using an actual resource item = Bad idea" Devnull

If I were still playing, I might like the idea of bills for 1K (1,000... and make that green instead of blue) and 1M (1,000,000... to which gold or silver would be fine), as well as perhaps at 1B (1,000,000,000... purple or gold here because that's royal value). But all the others would just introduce severe confusion, and therefore would not be handy in the game's design. :-k ~Mr. D. V. "Don't overkill the denomination groupings." Devnull

133 MHz... I still remember when computers were this slow, not needing to be so fast. And yet, before computer code got so bloated, they could still do such wonderous things.
