  1. Oh, wow, Maria - this is sad to hear. It's a good thing I pop in once in a blue moon. ;) You've been a friend of mine from the start back in 2001, for the most part. It's always nice to catch up with you every so often. Being in the Wanderers with you back in the day was a blast. One of my favourite eras from when I played this game. Our whole crew back in those early times wouldn't have been as complete without you. If this ends up being the last time we speak, I'd like to thank you for being a part of those good memories. :)
  2. So many people were single digits in age when RuneScape came out - wow. I'm even more surprised to see that people were playing before ten, I didn't even use the internet 'til I was eleven. RuneScape came out when I was thirteen, and that's when I started playing it. Although a few days after I began, I turned fourteen. I'll be turning twenty in two days. ;)
  3. graphics? seriously? :-s Yes, seriously. The original RuneScape graphics were so much better than what's out right now. They were quirky, they were cute, and most of all - they were 100% original. It was quite unique to be in a world like that. I felt it was pretty conceptual - green jello splots represented shooting arrows. The designs of the items in your inventory looked killer - you can't compare the art of the original two-handed sword to the lump stick of today. The RuneScape of today, I feel like I've seen it before - and I don't even play any other games. In my opinion, the new graphics look like they're trying too hard to have "amazing" graphics - but failing. With the original, they weren't going for 'the best' - they were just working with what they had, and that created a great style. Games need to stop trying to make everything seem and look realistic - when I play a game, I don't want to feel like I'm in the real world, I want to venture into something I could never experience otherwise.
  4. And that would be a perfect example for my initial post.
  5. While a bit of my outfit includes members-only items, a large chunk of it is what you suggested as being one of the best outfits in the free-game. I really think that in both free and members versions, full saradomin is a really sharp look - with a white party hat, too. I like your idea about the skull sceptre a lot, if I had one, I'd definitely be using that instead of a wind staff. :)
  6. It seems like most people have given up trying to figure out who the mysterious editor is. I was interested in seeing if anybody was going to get it right. ;)
  7. It's not just with RuneScape, but the use of any internet 'chatting' program. It depends, really. Personally, I always try to type with perfect (and yet creative!) grammar, so constantly typing definitely helps me with writing and the like. If you plan on typing in 'shorthand' all the time, then it definitely could affect your writing outside of the game, let alone make you look like you lack a heck of a lot of education. I've seen countless papers that my friends were handing in to a class with "u" instead of "you," which definitely wouldn't have developed without the constant use of the internet. Also, since RuneScape has everything you type come out as a lowercase except for the first letter, I'm sure people get into very bad habits of typing "i" instead of "I" when referring to themselves.
  8. I never really understand when people talk about how rune 2-handers were 750k and things like that. At least when they are talking about how that is ancient history. I suppose it is, but when BlueRose was the first and only to be able to smith them for ages, they didn't have a price. Why? Because she had no intent of selling them and didn't. She only gave them out to her very close friends, and therefore didn't have a price. I remember when Who Da Best killed Phillip for his rune 2-hander, that was big news. I suppose eventually down the line other smithers made them have a price around 750k, but that was later on. To D_V_Devnull, I'm not sure why you're so excited to see me in-game. ;) I'm also not sure when the next time'll be that I decide to sign on, but if I do, maybe we'll run into each other. :)
  9. Here are some recent threads that have "noob" in the title somewhere: ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâ÷ Have you ever called someone a noob?!?!?! ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâ÷ Noobs say the funniest things! ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâ÷ Not Noobs? ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâ÷ Are noob callers worse than noobs? ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâ÷ Noobiest Way You Made Money As A Noob? ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâ÷ noobs? Lame.
  10. I agree, JumpinJax, the combat system really was screwed up - having over 20 levels on your opponent really didn't account for much, but compared to the way PKing works today, it's like that system was flawless, no? Regardless, good times indeed. ;)
  11. The colour of rune was thought of by an "early aged teenager," named Tiwi. It was going to be a grayish purple but then turned into the turquoise we all know and love from his suggestion. So yes, Jagex does (probably more correctly, did) listen to players. :) I think a cute holiday item would be a giant candy-cane in different colours that we hold as a staff. Most holiday items that are wearable are worn on your head/face. I'd like to see a few more we can equip as a weapon.
  12. Ah, I always love to see that list, R2, thanks for posting it. :) Nice to see my name on there several times. I just can't believe how low I am on the player killing list. :P Psh, we all know Kobe and I deserve to be much higher than that. Hehe. Yeah, Leo was a pest sometimes, but four years later it becomes apparant that it sure is a great thing that he did, documenting all thos great players. Seeing all those old names almost brings a tear to my eye. ;) I'm almost positive it was Lightning that founded the lovely Wanderers, maybe along with someone like EricD16 or Erixson, but I'm pretty sure she was the creator.
  13. "This person," namely, me, could remember Robin Hood2 switching to non-PK because I was there. I remember the old clans because I was there. I was in some. I was a part of many, many clan wars. I was a huge part of the community four years ago. THAT'S how. I know who the editor is, being interviewed by this person and all. :) Sorry, folks, I'm keeping my lips sealed. ;)
  14. Yeah, it wasn't really advertised much, but I remember a link to the game was on one site I would visit a lot during my study hall-esque class in middle school. The site was just a ton of links to free games like Asteroids, Pac-Man and things like that. I was just scrolling through the huge list of links and accidently clicked on RuneScape. Upon the website loading, I decided to give it a shot, since it looked too wild for a free game - and look what happened! ;)
  15. Ooh, when I find out the exact time I'll let you know whether or not I can join, sounds like fun. ;) Not as fun as the underground farm, of course, but few things are. :D
  16. Fook! :D It's been years, eh? It's always so nice to see a familiar name. And I'm pretty sure that WOLF reigned on top for the player killing portion of the mailing lists. ;) I haven't seen one of those in so long, wowies. Again - thanks for all the nice replies and feedback, fellow 'Scapers. I'm glad everybody's enjoying the interview.
  17. Thanks for all the nice comments, everybody! I'm glad everybody's enjoying it! I certainly had fun being interviewed by the Editor. :D My name has unfortunately been constantly butchered throughout the past six years of RuneScape - I'm way too used to it, Ddrmaster. ;) One thing I'd like to clear up, I have no idea why that first picture says "my RSC bank," it's just my inventory. I wrote about the best kill in the wilderness I'd ever gotten and included that picture, ah well. :)
  18. That's a pretty wild and very well thought out idea, kudos. I think it has potential to be pretty interesting - I feel like it'd take up a lot of space within the servers, though. Perhaps if there was a limit on the amount of pictures one album can contain? I don't know, really, just wanted to compliment on the nicely done images. :)
  19. There I am. :) I actually get many compliments on this outfit in-game when I decide to play. I think it's pretty awesome. :D Maybe I could use a different weapon, though - any ideas from anybody as to what might look nice? Maybe just a plain rune battle axe or something.
  20. Me? No way! ;) Although you should all be quite excited for the upcoming interview with me. :D
  21. Welcome to RuneScape. Argh, what a mess! (A classic from examining burnt cake.) :)
  22. I didn't play for roughly four years, August 2002 to August 2006 or something. If I came back and found my account deleted, I'd be going nuts. Although I do think it could be cleaned up, so basically I'd say you'd have to have not logged on for years and have a skill total under 100 or something. Alas, if that was the case, and somebody did want to come back after several years to play their character again, if they only had skills under 15, they could easily just re-work that with a new character. It doesn't seem like a bad idea to me at all.
  23. And there's mine. Woo. :) Clifford, I rate yours a seven out of ten. It's a little too much of the same colour, although I like the hint of green with your boots, since that's the compliment of red. I'd suggest zombie gloves since they'd match your ranger boots, and it'd really break up the monotony of the red.
