Erm... Yeah. As someone who knew nothing about Vector I googled and you can tell that's a scam straight up. Wouldn't touch it with a ten-foot barge pole.
  2. If that was true, the News of the World would still be in business. Never underestimate the power of public opinion, especially when they've got a pantomime villain to antagonise. Let's see how the Sun on Sunday goes but, I'm not convinced that public opinion is that strongly against Murdoch that people will stop buying his papers. Have you seen how heavily The People and the Daily Star have been advertising this weekend, using words like 'trust'? The NotW allegedly had a readership of ten million, they won't suddenly turn away from tabloids because one of them was found guilty of phone hacking, and as soon as the Sun starts publishing on a Sunday, they'll run back to him thinking that the NotW was just the 'bad apple' and the Sun was totally oblivious. Too much emphasis in modern politics is placed on 'public opinion'. People whining on Twitter are deluding themselves if they think they're changing anything. Facebook even moreso, since you're not even whining to a global audience there--you're whining to friends, most of which won't care, and that's it. If they want an example of changing something, try Liverpool following the Hillsborough Disaster, and given how well the final copy of the NotW sold, I'm not anticipating anything similar.
  3. Commercially, I'm impressed with how the MLS has developed. It's incredibly difficult to promote 'foreign' sports in geographical areas which already have their own established sports, America specially given it has four major sports already. It would be a lie to suggest that association football in America is a major sport (a lie that FIFA tries to peddle every two years, mostly to deaf ears for those of us in Europe who can see better) but it's achieving all the basic goals that a minor sport has to meet: active participation at grassroots, media coverage, stable finances, and facilities for talented youngsters to develop into professional players. The MLS is something that lot of minor sports in the UK (re: anything except football) could learn from. Tactically, I'd agree that it's still not up to speed with even the Championship though. If you're craving a fix, the Championship starts again in three weeks time, with many teams in the Football League hosting Premier League clubs until then. I think Chelsea recently played Wycombe Wanderers.
  4. If you don't know who Murdoch is, you don't possess any real knowledge of current affairs. The thing that annoys me about this is Brooks admitted to a crime in 2006 (paying police for information). Forget resignation, she should be in prison. Secondly, there's this idea that the tabloids experienced a rare blip in standards when they hacked Milly Dowler's phone--utter codwash. They've made their whole business on salacious gossip and justified it by saying other people deserve to have their privacy violated because they happen to earn lots of money, and that it's in the "public interest". It's a matter of national security that Gordon Brown's son had cystic fibrosis? No. They didn't break the MPs expenses story despite being given the opportunity to do so, because they felt it wasn't sexy enough. Says it all really, given the MPs expenses story was far greater a voting issue than this ever will be.
  5. All up to here done.
  6. I'm on the above two.
  7. I'm guessing from the rest of the post that he didn't type out the French part. I love it when people drunk TIF.
  8. OCD

    Ginger_Warrior replied to Nomrombom's topic in Off-Topic
We all have idiosynchrasies which mark us as being different to the 'norm'. The difference with OCD lies in the pathological nature of the disorder, not necessarily the compulsive act itself.
  9. Another thing I hate, transformers. I watched the second one, it was awful. The plot just didn't crescendo, y'know? I had no idea where I was with the story at several points during that film.
  10. OCD

    Ginger_Warrior replied to Nomrombom's topic in Off-Topic
Diagnoses. And yeah I really have to agree: there's a big difference between OCD and simply having a clean desk, or wanting to wash your hands after you've been to the toilet etc.
  11. U jealous bro? His girlfriend in Dark of the Moon is pretty fit.
  12. Pretty much exactly where I am: http://www.politicalcompass.org/facebook/pcgraphpng.php?ec=-4.88&soc=-2.82 I think for the whole of the religious section I answered strongly disagree, spare one question, which I answered disagree.

Went out and played some football. Unfortunately the park we play on is about forty minutes away walking, and then a rainstorm came down. So there I was, exhausted, drenched and a mile away from home with rain pouring down having run around for two hours. And it felt great. :^_^: But my sports top looked more like a swimming costume when I got home.

Does it type letters as well?
  15. Yeah, its mainly through application forms and CVs I know exactly what my mobile number is. But because I put my mobile down as my contact number, I can't remember my house number any more.
  16. A 13 year old and a 28 year old... erm... what? That's sick and twisted, there's no other words for it. I agree that trust is something earned through tact and sensitivity rather than given for free simply because you find yourself in a relationship. Trust me not to do anything behind your back and I'll trust you to know what I'm up to.
  17. You've made several points and you haven't backed them up, despite given several opportunities to do so. I'd argue the evidence against your claim is that dating websites continue to run as businesses; despite apparently being the weapon of choice for rapists and paedophiles, the police, the judiciary and the legislatures of several countries have seen no reason to close them down. Which rather suggests they're not actually full of criminals, and they actually provide some other service. Now, I can't possibly begin to fathom what that other service might be...
  18. Good. Then finding a source for your claim shouldn't be too much to ask for then, would it? It's either a notable amount, in which case newpapers should be covering it (thus, you can post URLs here); or it isn't notable and, basically, you're wrong. I'd argue the opposite. Given the vast quantities of information we freely store on the Internet (think of how much we give Facebook alone), the lack of security guarding this information, it wouldn't be too difficult to find the identity of someone fairly quickly, even if they were using pseudonyms as we do around the Tip.It Forum. To use dating websites you also need access to the Internet, so either you need an Internet cafe, in which case you're on CCTV, or you need a supplier, in which case there's a contract, in which case there's a bank account and a paper trail. Compare that to a lonely hearts column in a newspaper where frankly, I could put down any name I wanted and no-one would know any better. I don't actually understand what any of the above has to do with anything previously discussed in this thread. I mean, quite apart from the racist undertone, it's totally irrelevent.
  19. When topics move from General Discussion to OT. (hint hint) It's all got a bit perfunctory.
  20. PM stevepole (article creator) with your email address.
  21. If your email hasn't been registered as a contributor, you can't add a marker manually. I think the first page is out of date. If you post your location here though, I could put it on for you.
  22. I thought it died with RWT since no one could get paid or make gifts for 'weddings'. Also the gold-digging aspect all but disappeared. But they brought RWT back in at the new year so it might have come back again, who knows? Obviously there were those RS couples who were couples in real life but... those were few and far between I reckon.
  23. If people find love through it, who am I to judge? Wouldn't try it myself though. Actually I might do a trial one day just to find out who I'd be matched with and see if they're anything like my past relationships, for the lulz. If this topic is about RS dating then... this thread needs to stop right here.
  24. I thought it was really good. Some of the special effects weren't so brilliant but that's the BBC I guess. It's nowhere near as sex-driven as the second series anyway... I mean that really was ridiculous.
  25. It sounds more like enforcing your beliefs and values on everyone else, to be perfectly honest. In a way, you've reminded me of the exact reason I don't support most animal welfare charities--if the animal is cute and can be domesticated, it deserves protection; anything else can die. You either believe that animals shouldn't be eaten (an argument which has its own flaws), or you don't. You can't pick and choose which animals deserve to be eaten and which don't, it's rank hypocrisy.
