Israel vs Palestine
Half of this debate has been stolen by certain individuals using smoke and mirror tactics, or simply denying the premise of another person's arguments, rather than actually discussing the meat of the issue. It's a shame really, and if this little thread is a microcosm of the real situation then it's no wonder this issue remains so violently unresolved.

Bungie admitted an outage a few days ago was their fault. I've had problems since Halo 4 was announced, might be coincidence.

Things that annoy the HELL out of you.
When people say the "F word" using 'e' instead of 'u'. If you're going to swear, just do it. It's not any less offensive for substituting a vowel.

What do you use in the UK? Sorry, didn't catch this. The original legislation passed under the previous Labour government was scrapped by the new coalition government

Pol Pot deserves a shout. Gaddafi too. I'd bet 93,000,000,000 Zimbabwian dollars on Mugabe making the list, he's made a country full of trillionaires after all.

Yeah, that's generally the abuse I got when had the audacity to use 'cades to stop them stealing the flag (shock). I also make a point of sniping the banshee down on Spire Invasion which tends to earn a few 'Unsporting attitude' negative reviews. It actually gives me a warm glow knowing I p****d someone off that much for denying them a cheap Rampage. Tells me I'm doing a good job.

SSBB - MLG Pro Circuit (yes, people make money out of playing it) MKWii New Super Mario Bros Wii Dead Space Extraction LoZ:TP Red Steel (and 2) Super Mario Galaxy (and 2) Metroid Prime: Corruption Metriod: Other M Kirby's Epic Yarn * A whole raft of Virtual Console games, including LoZ:OoT, one of if not the most critically acclaimed video game of all time. * Backwards compatibility with all GC games, of which there are quite a few 'good' games. We've not even begun to talk about what the Wii's actual target market is into. Like them, scave them, hell blow them up with fireworks for all I care, but Wii Fit was one of the company's biggest success stories. It doesn't help people lose weight, it's not even a game technically, but it sold in bulk and made lots of profit. End of.

Lack of third party support when EA and Activision are backing it? Sure, whatever.

I always make an effort in that kind of situation to congratulate the other guy with a message or a friendly comment over mic if he hasn't left already. I used to do the same for Castle Wars in RuneScape and the like. I don't know if that makes me weird given how anti-social gamers can be at times but I see it the same as offering a handshake after a sports match really. Just good sportsmanship for a respectful opponent after a close match. Congrats on Brigadier.

Top 5 Best People of All Time
People can only operate within the context they find themselves in. A 'pleb' from south London could do twice as much voluntary work for good causes than Princess Di did but we know all which will go down in encyclopaedias and which will have, at best, a brief mention in a local newpaper. That's the trouble with seeing history through the eyes of 'Great People'.

National ID in America
In the UK, the proposal for ID cards included *us* paying for it, when of course it would be mandatory to have one. It's ridiculous and without even going into a debate over privacy (I don't really care if the government knows whether I browse porn or not), I'm not convinced they're effective at combating illegal immigration or terrorism.

...You didn't have to use a Wii remote to play MKWii. A GameCube controller would've worked. I agree the Wii controls were awful.

E3 2011
Well apparently the montage used PS3 and 360 footage, Fils-Aime says it was because the Wii U is a whole year from release. The console will definitely 1060p HD and the Zelda footage for obvious reasons could not have been from another console. So that explains why it looked as if it had current gen graphics. Glad that's cleared up, lives were depending on it.

E3 2011
YI've read an article on USA Today and also the British morning papers who are saying it looks like a tablet but actually it's comfortable to hold and the button layout has a natural feel to it. Amazingly enough the few people I've seen slating the controller have been 'armchair experts' with no hands-on experience, which is understandable because it looks bulky. I think people are right to be sceptical about the use of gimmicky technology in consoles. Phantom Hourglass was ruined in a way by the touch screen controls; I also thought it wasn't long enough compared to other Zelda handheld games such as Link's Awakening. All I can say is: A) People thought the Wii was just as gimmicky, if not more for its time than the Wii U is, and still sold massively despite a lack of backing from third parties; B) There does seem to be some genuinely practical applications for this as demonstrated during the conference, rather than 'Here's Wii Sports and a white TV remote to play it with'; C) The Zelda game seemed to use it effectively, controls still being used conventionally, but the touch screen used for menu navigation.

E3 2011
Well... You can't blame anyone else for your own ignorance can you really? All three companies had normal video games in their conferences if you bothered to look.
-
E3 2011
The orchestra at the start of the conference was impressive, hints at a more music-orientated game which I think is what Twilight Princess was badly missing at times. In short: Nintendo think they can use the Wii's good name to keep the 'casuals' from the Kinect, and they can grab core gamers back with third party games backed up by Zelda and co. Bold ambition.

Marijuana Legalization
Oh wow, minor spelling mistake. Nice one! A) You can't regulate something or take taxes from something that is illegal. If you're taxing someone, they have every right to declare whatever they're being taxed for as 'legal'. B) Where does the slippery slope end? Fat people? Cancer as a result of sunbeds? C) Such an approach doesn't differentiate between recreational and medicinal uses of cannAbis. The BMA has mixed feelings about its medicinal uses but it categorically rejects the legality of recreational drug use.

E3 2011
For backwards compatibility with the Wii it must also have compability for NGC controllers, surely. It's the standard for SSBB and MKWii so there'll be hell to pay if there isn't multiple controller support for the new SSB title coming. EDIT: Image on IGN website of the actual Wii U console Looks the same as the Wii console in terms of style, except the sync button is outside of that 'flap'. Nothing on he frontr to suggest the Infrared bar will be going anywhere soon. Thickness looks to be about one-and-a-half Wiis on top of each other. Might imply there's more "stuff" in there, possible price increase on the Wii's initial tag.

E3 2011
EA were quite specific with the terminology even if Reggie wasn't: the two letters "HD" were definitely in there. The graphics were comparible to this generation's 360 and PS3. Several questions unanswered which may be answered over the following days: Price: Sony at least gave an American price, Nintendo gave none;Graphics: HD confirmed, but how good specifically will it be?Hardware: What is actually the thing that powers it, it surely can't be a controller.Release date: I didn't hear anything, but the focus seemed to be very much '3DS this year, Wii-U next year'.Extras: The crossbow and all the other add-ons, costly? Price of a second Wii-U controller? That EA were presenting on Nintendo's behalf is an incredible feat though. Some incredible franchises never seen before on Nintendo for the first time, new SSB announced and (eventually) a sequel to Luigi's Mansion which in my opinion was one the most underrated games on the GameCube. Animal Crossing wasn't announced in the conference but we know it will probably be at this year's E3. Of course it all depends on how developers make use of the technology to provide a good enough reason for us to buy it but... I'm excited.

GameSpot's live stream blasts "In the morning you know you won't remember a thing" from the Razorlight song. I hope that's not an omen for this new console. Now it's Maximo Park's 'Girls Who Play Guitar'--a new Rockband title obviously.

Marijuana Legalization
Did I say it was addictive? No I don't think I did. I'll match your cancer and raise you schizophrenia, too. There have also been numerous campaigns by the NHS in spite of alcohol and tobacco's legality to remove people from alcoholism, binge drinking and smoking. If there's something here that's inconsistent with cannibis remaining illegal then please highlight it. If cannibis does have medicinal benefits, then that's for the BNF and NICE to decide and also for GPs to prescribe, but let's not pretend that most people who smoke cannibis do so to relieve cancer.

Keep the reticule at head height. You learn what 'head height' is with experience. If you're headshotting, then you're using a weapon that has bloom, in which case might help with explaining bloom theory. Try pacing bullets at medium- to long-range so bloom is reduced and aim is more consistent. Also, crouching reduces recoil, but may not always be practical. Alpha Zombies might be a good mode to practise headshots on since all zombies are oneshot and they run faster than normal. I'm sure there are players better than me who can give more advice though.
