  1. Oh come on, have you ever herd of a ligitamate anti-virus that runs as a pop up. popups are caused by programs on your computer, a class of virus on their own. Many viruses create fake security warnings to try and get you to download an antivirus program thats just a much bigger virus. Now since thats a popup, it is in no way related to runescape. Thats a problem with YOUR COMPUTER, not a server. So we arent at risk, but you need a spyware scan. It was not a pop up, it was actually the Runescape client that I opened. Presumably from an ad which I cannot report because it was instantaneous. PS A friend of mine confirmed the same problem.
  2. I would advise you to raise attack as that is what prevents you from hitting constant zeros. But stength and defence have their uses as well. :)
  3. Thanks for this information. :) Unfortunately as I mentioned before, I cannot report the ad as I was almost instantly redirected. :|
  4. first post doesnt matter on any thread. This happened when you went to the runescape website? and what is there to believe, if you try to get on rs and get this, dont click anything.. It was actually when I opened the Runescape Client.
  5. Ok. I wouldn't if I knew you. However, I do not know you.. I admit I was a little sharp, but unless there is pure evidence apart from a picture, I won't believe. Well I'm not going to try to convince you because I honestly don't know how. All I have is my word and a screenshot but once again I tell you, this truly is REAL.
  6. Although I do not click them, I do not block them either as I believed it was against the rules. After this has happened I think my computers safety is more important than any rule and will have to look into an ad blocker. EDIT: I forgot to mention also that I cannot report the ad because I was taken directly to this site and therefore do not know what ad it was. Any other recommendation?
  7. I am not trying to "scare" anyone, I am just sharing what happened to me when I tryed to get on Runescape today. The fact that it may be "scary" is something I had nothing to do with. PS if you ask anyone who knows me you will find that I am one of the most trustworthy people. Please do not question my honesty.
  8. I assure you it is... I am worried about my, and others computers safety and posted this right after it happened.
  9. Many of you remember not long ago there was a problem where certain ads on Runescape would potentially result in a trojan virus. Well when I opened the Runescape Client today to play Runescape this is what it took me to: Surely if I were to click the icon labeled "Erase threat" I would have gained a virus. Of course I had the common sense not to click it, I proceeded to close it and run a scan.
  10. I personally prefer to cut and burn in Rimmington as there is less competition for logs. Effective guide none the less.
  11. I see you have a bank pic now, it is really nice. :o
  12. Thank you for the feedback, based on what you have mentioned I will make some changes later tonight.
  13. Up to 16.4M defence as of today.
  14. Boring as it may be (and is) smelting is the most cost effective way to raise your smithing. I would direct you to Farmer Dally's guide on TFS forum, he has a good method. :)
  15. Kebab heal anywhere from 0-30 and cost a mere 1 coin.
  16. I have done my share of smelting, if you cannot bear it then I advise finding a different method to raise your smithing rather than ranting about it. I find it to be fine the way it is.
  17. Pretty nice so far, good cash pile you have there to. :)
  18. But you are P2P. It (the list) is for 100% F2P'ers, aka, people with the indicated req'ts who have never been a member. OT: 1337 is almost 81 cb so.... :uhh: :-# Actually I was training with 1337bunghole today and he was over 80 combat. I met Tan Man Dan before, don't recall the combat level. :|
  19. *Updated 11/18/2011 *Updated 12/01/2011 My personal favourite place to train is the flesh crawlers found in Stronghold of Security. And having gathered over 20+ Million Defence Experience here and am currently in the process of getting 99 ranged here as well. I can assure you it works. Smile The great thing about Flesh Crawlers is they have very low strength and hit quite low (always less than 20). I can usually last around 4 hours on one load of food when meleeing, and around 2 hours with ranged. You are looking at around 30-40k experience per hour. The drops include plenty of gems, coins and VAST amounts of body runes. (I have gathered over 125k body runes here) Recommended levels: For the areas that include both flesh crawlers and zombies, 60+ defence would come in very useful. As for the area with only flesh crawlers, no defence is required, however the more the better (as with any monster). First you need your equipment: Melee: *Add rune gauntlets and either explorer's ring 4 or ring of devotion for the modern setup. *Gravite weapons are rather expensive to use, as they are degradable. I would not recommend them. Ranged: *As for the sighted longbow, It is too slow to be useful for training purposes (I have personally tested this). Next you will need food... I recommend one of the following options: 1) Bring a rod and feathers, fish from the river, cook in barbarian lodge on everlasting fire. 2) Buy kebabs 1 coin each from Al Kharid. (these heal anywhere from 0-30+) 3) Buy lobsters and bank in Edgeville. *If you have explorers ring 4, don't forget to get your daily food hamper from the Lumbridge cook! Your inventory may look something like this: *A gem bag is useful if you are fishing for your food and not banking, otherwise you will not need it since you will never get 28+ gems in a single trip. *Cornucopia would be worth using if fishing for food in the river, otherwise the effect is minimal. *Strength pots are not very useful in my opinion. They take up food space and have negligible impacts on xp rates (plus they are another expense). Now I drew on this map (thanks tip.it for map) for you to show you the best areas of flesh crawlers. :) The red circle is where the flesh crawlers are, the line indicates where to run when the aggressive wares off. Now you just sit back and rake in the experience. Hope this guide help you.
  20. I like to cook in al kharid.
  21. I'm going to bring up the behind the scenes section up again: Notice how they worded that. They set F2P'ers up for disappointment by making it sound like all people with 99 skills could get them. And of course I think everyone who "earned" one as they say, should be able to wear one.
  22. At spiders they are definitely worth using.
  23. Grats on the 85 mining! And already you are a better rune miner than myself. Keep up the good work.
