  3. Fascinating. Are you familiar at all with Steven Pinker's "Better Angels of Our Nature"? I'll assume not, but I will ask anyways. You don't strike me as one who's very well versed on the concept of the "social contract". If it were a social contract for something that mattered, and not some stupid videogame run by crooks, I would obviously adhere or would want to. But since it's a videogame, I feel that for all intents and purposes that argument doesn't fly well with me. How interesting. Tell me, when you signed up to play the game itself, you were asked to agree to the terms and the conditions thereof, were you not? And you did agree to the terms and conditions, did you not? Correct, I did, and I have abided by these said rules, apart from possibly the occasional swearing in game that got me in trouble. However, just because I agree to these rules does not mean I agree WITH them. If I were in a position to makes thousands of dollars a month doing relatively no harm to others (except maybe spoiling little Billy's time on some MMO), I would, though.

  5. I do condone it, I don't personally care if someone RWTs or not, for the reasons I have already stated many many times. It's only bad because Jagex says it is. For some people, you, that's reason enough not to do it. But some see the benefits it can provide in real life and prefer to enrich their actual lives at the cost of a videogame. Shame on them, right?
  6. Yes let's all mindlessly follow rules instead of having good conversation and questioning the reasons behind things. What good has EVER come of questioning authority?
  7. @Iridium, Wrong. If you are making thousands of dollars a week as you typed / month as I typed, then you CAN support your family. And not all gambling in RS is luck based, some is risk-free commission based. The way these clans pull in money, if you had taken the time to read some recent posts, you'd understand most real jobs don't compare profit wise to this. Your argument holds exactly zero ground.
  8. Actually, I used four examples, and choose not to believe them if you like, but both are untrue and not exaggerated, literally, in ANY way. Perhaps if you had friends who made billions a week that you spoke to regularly, the idea wouldn't be so far-fetched. You don't, and I do, and I am not about to rat their names out, because some of them depend on this to survive. And of course RWT is victimless, unless you count the game as one, which I don't. The only victims are either a) the fools who buy gold, or b) the stupid parents who leave their credit cards lying around. Anyone who chooses being in poverty (in some cases) over breaking rules on a video game, is the biggest fool on the planet. Firstly; You don't know anything about me, so please refrain from assuming you do. Secondly; My post was pointing out the flaws in your post that Bly pointed out. Which you didn't address and got defensive about. Thirdly; The game and community are they main victims of RWT. It's crazy to exclude them, even if you don't care about this game any more. Firstly; my apologies, please tell me how many people you know who fit in the category I explained so that you can refute me. Secondly; your post is only flawed by Blyaunte's and your standards, not one peep from anyone else. Perhaps you should keep in mind that flaws are opinions, nowhere does it say I cannot cite firsthand sources in the matter. Thirdly; you would have to be totally braindead to care about the integrity of a videogame's rules over the well-being of you and your family like some people do, regardless of how uncommon that specific situation is. And THAT one is a fact. Not everyone does it for fat stacks IRL. Some do it out of need. If you are a struggling family with no jobs available and a broken leg or a poor college kid who has so much on their plate that they can't work a real job, and someone told you that a videogame where you can make thousands of dollars a month planting flowers in a field existed, I would weep if you declined it when you were informed it was against the rules of the game to do that. People with these situations EXIST. I do not CARE how uncommon they are compared to most RWTrs situations, if even ONE person in the situation described lived a BETTER LIFE for selling their gold, then GOOD FOR THEM. Not everyone who sells gold is a bad person. That's all I am saying. There are two sides to every coin.

  10. It's fine, Blyaunte, for once in her life I presume, actually had a good reason to doubt my claims. It's just usually my lack of proof for my claims pisses her off. It's fine though, the people who have been here long enough have come to understand that my sources are pretty reliable.
  11. You're the one that started with insults, though. I can honestly say that none of the people I've met that have been involved with RWT have been so noble. Is it safe to assume that my experiences with the topic are void? Actually, if you want to get technical Alg, ^ THAT ^ piece of work was the thing that started me off. A ignorant forum user who opens their mouth when they shouldn't. If that's not an insult, I don't know what is.
  12. The hell? I know this guy lol (assuming it's the same maxy pad I remember, changed names A LOT); I don't really remember him involved in any type of rwting tho... And him having 85b just lol... Oh he was involved with plenty lol, perhaps not as a staker, but when he got ranked in Fishy, it was a sealed deal. I've heard this argument made before in the above, edited context. Do the circumstances given as reasons for the activity make the activity acceptable? If people are making money off my product/service without my consent, through theft or other means, I'm going to be upset about it, no matter how they try to justify it. However it's not your product nor your service, so what's your reason to be upset, because you're not doing it either? Because Jagex clearly does not care.
  13. What a stupid thing to say, way to provide nothing to the coversation while making yourself out to be a sarcastic... knucklehead, at the same time. And yes, most are middle-class teens who just want money, but some do it for legitimate reasons. Pretty strong words coming from someone posting entirely anecdotal nonsense ... None were anecdotal you fool. These were all actual stories from friends of mine in gambling clans. Way to assume, you're one ignorant piece of work, at least it's nice to know not much has changed since I stopped posting here as often. I have nothing to lie about in this thread nor in any I provide information and conversation to. If the knowledge I am able to provide is not welcome here, I have no problem withholding it. I may admittedly have the more outspoken, and to some, foul, mouth here, but she is the one out of line.

  15. Many people I know who sell gold did it because they had to, not because they wanted to. I have a friend who's father lost their job and they had to sell their gold, and continue to, or they would have lost their house. One woman's roof fell in and she broke her arm and had to sell her money to pay for an operation she otherwise would have not been able to afford. Many people who sell do it to put themselves through school because their family can't afford to otherwise. One guy I knew was homeless before a friend who was ranked in a clan offered them a spot, and now the guy is on his feet with a place to live and a more secure future. Sure, some do it to buy fancy cars or to just stack bills, but some people do this to help themselves in real life, and at the end of the day, if you're about to lose your home and you have $10,000 worth of pixel gold sitting on an account, what are you going to do then? The only dislike for RWT that *should* happen is dislike out of envy, and nothing else. RWTrs aren't money hungry pieces of shit out to ruin the game. They're just trying to better their life in a way that honestly shouldn't hurt anybody. It's nothing personal.
  16. Fishy and Starrychelx collectively own about 500b now, not counting [what remains of] their ranks. However, both accounts are under constant surveillance by Jagex and if one even thinks of trying to move that much gold, they'll both be banned immediately. What they usually do is just have their ranks pay their "weekly fees" (to remain ranked) directly to asians. So they just cut out the middlemanning directly, or they go to random coffee shops in their area on purchased max combat accounts that have never interacted with their mains before and lose "stakes" to themselves to move gold around. They have around 50 ranks and each rank owes 200m every Saturday. That's 40b a month. Assuming that their unsellable 500b goes back into popularizing / strengthening the clan / calling bets, that leaves them with about $15,000 USD every month for profit, without even needing to host. And that doesn't even take into account the initial fee to get rank (6 - 10b) Most of my information comes from Ex-ranks
  17. I have it on good authority he lost a good chunk of money, he kept a decent amount on hand in case his shit fc got a random high bet. the 30b was spread over a few mules though
  18. Well, the account belonged to an ex-pmod, so perhaps they did it in good faith, hoping he wouldn't sell his gold, but so much for that

  20. Yeah shit, wished I had logged on
  21. What people don't understand is that Pastel actually is planted much less often than any of the other colors, contrary to what people think / the wiki states. FrostyFlower odds are roughly 67/33 in the favor of the host, and this is coming from someone who used to host it all the time. It's not abnormal to see hosts in Frostyflower clans to go on 15+ winstreaks. The game is designed to clean the better and be deceptive. Most people don't know about the Pastel thing.
  22. I just can't help myself sometimes Kimberly

  23. A couple more Fishy ranks have been banned recently, one "Pitiful" CLS Product banned today, claims to have lost over 200b Mx799 banned, claims to have lost over 100b Both ran the FrostyFlower clan in CLS Product fc
