Yes, the +15% attack and defense bonus is only activated during slayer tasks. However the random -15% defence curse to enemies can be activated at any time.

You can use Rune Gloves. Once you complete the last mini-quest, you can use Dragon. After that, if you defeat all the bosses, you can use the Dark Gloves.

First memory? Tutorial island on my first account back in RSC. I was stuck on the first NPC for a while, and could not figure out how to talk (took me a minute or so to figure out I couldn't). Next memory was when I went to Hobgoblins. Someone had left a limpwurt root on the ground and I daringly went in and tried to get it. I did get it, but I also died in the process. And the last early memory was when I found someone dropping their gold unstrung amulets on the ground. I got around 5 and sold them all to the general store. Got me quite a bit of gold. I spent it on a mithril scimitar that I couldn't use yet XD (I was in Al Kharid).

Uh, no. It's by no means used to distract Jagex. People use it to transfer items between accounts mainly since most people can't log on multiple accounts at once. They drop the items they want to send, and log in on the other account to pick them up. As previously said, you CANNOT trade untradeable items by any means, even drop trading.

Do you think it could hurt your chances, since it would give you things with a higher gp value and hence a lower chance of a defender? Ya that's the argument I heard about the high alch costs (though that's not how I personally think the RoW works). I had personally played it safe and didn't use it, but a lot of people still manage to complete it pretty fast even with one, so I say go for it :D.

Drop ratio is pretty random seeing some people send thousands of tokens on a defender, while other people get them within 100. It's not multi though.

I personally believe they don't help at all. I got my 2 rune defenders within 1k kills without using one. I've also heard both sides of the argument and though the RoW doesn't help side was more convincing.
