Comparing the 3rd Aged Range to older range armour, the coif isn't as great as the Karil's in defense, but has +9 range (better than Robin Hood). The body, chaps, and vambraces are better in defense but have the same range bonus as Karils and Black Dragonhide. So basically in summary, only the coif provides an increased range bonus over previous items.
