If your zipping just a couple of smallish files the likelyhood is that there wont be a great difference between the original and zipped file size. Still a handy way of transfering multiple files at once tho.

it wasnt that long ago i saw someone riding down a main road in my city with no hands (on the handle bars.. not just no hands..), he road up onto the pavement to avoid some traffic and went str8 into a lamp post and over the handle bars. I laughed out loud. Im usually such a nice guy, but that made me laugh.

you could try adding depth to the picture by shading it in photoshop or something. the guy (from NGE) on my sig i drew, scanned and coloured in photoshop. works pretty well, i think. i also did 1 other pic for RS sigs in the same way, posted it a while ago.. i'll just post it again to show: anime style pics, i believe, can look really good BUT pencil drawings never scan as good as they look on paper so i think you do need to smarten them up with some editing once they have been scanned. uh, and if u want to learn to draw anime the best way (imho) is not to read guides or those 'how to draw manga' books but just to try copying frames from ur favourite cartoons! i love foolycooly.. got a ton of myown copies of flcl pics on my pc ^^

thanks :D glad u like it! i guess i started drawing anime style about 4 years ago when it first became *the cool* thing. I just really like how the style looks, the facial features always look awesome not to mention your allowed a little slack for exageration! The pic on my sig i drew a few years back and kept on my hard drive cuz i liked it so much. Its Shinji Ikari from NGE. My all time favourite cartoon. however, is FLCL (aka. foolycooly). it just rocks eventhough it makes no sence and even less if you cant get a subtitled version!

As u may know from my old posts ive been drawing a new sig pic! well, ive decided its ready to be put up for bidding. Im open to all offers. Backgrounds, names, messages and stats can be added on request.

ok, well ive shaded it.. in a manner of speaking. ive noticed that converting to gif makes shading look weird. its a hard choice between transparent background and better quality shading. let me know what you think! as a gif or something like: as a jpg.

ok, this is such a n00b question but im new to the forum (as u can see... go chicken feather!) i noticed that theres alot of simularity between all the 'pixel' sigs on here. i was wondering what criteria need to be kept to for something to class as pixel. im asking because i drew the charactor on my sig pic on paper in pencil, then scanned it and used photoshop to get it up to scratch. is that pixel? if so why dont more people use fine line drawing style? anyway, glad of advice also, any comments/tips on my sig welcome!

macromedia all the way. macromedia fireworks gives you excellent control over your images if your a beginner. i ts dead simple to use and you can download a 30 day free trial from http://www.download.com ! also, to create finer lines an easy trick is to draw the image bigger than you want it then rescale it using image editing software. (this doesnt work in MS paint so well, but in better software works well.) To create my sig i drew my charactor on paper, scanned it in then coloured it with photoshop pro. I used macromedia fireworks to add the text, background and edit the layout. you can also use that program for creating animated gifs. happy doodling!
