  1. My favourite cheese has to be Mascarpone, just becuase its so versatile and I have a very sweet tooth. I really love cream cheese icing on cake and I totally adore Tiramisu.
  2. ive only injured myself seriously a couple of times. 1. i cut the front of my thumb off while cutting wood for a fire, 5 years ago. this was daft, but the interesting bit was that i was over 70 miles from the nearest hospital with no car and no phone. I ended up using sticky tape a wet wipe. it worked, i have a complete thumb and the feeling has now completely returned to the tip of it. 2. i broke my collar bone training with my judo coach. I fell over and hit my shoulder on a step v_v 3. |I set my jeans on fire (didnt actually injur myself but its stupid anyway) while drunk, sitting on the sofa and didnt notice the candles on the floor x_X my mate has injured himself in a weirder way, I can laugh about it now but at the time it was ... scary. he decided to steal some chemicals from the science lab at school and wrapped them in a tissue and put them in his pocket. Later that lesson he was bored and started to flick his lighter in his pocket. This lit the tissue and ignited the chemicals contained. The chemicals reacted and turned to a highly concentrated acid, running down his leg and burning it to the muscle. He spent 3 months in hospital, wouldnt walk for 5 months and had to wear a support bandage for over a year. hes kinda dumb. but i love him anyway.
  3. currently work for an Internet services company, we also devlope backend software for corporate use in the industry, id like to move into the development team at my current work place. would eventually like to work on games development.. who wouldnt?
  4. on the whole i think the mods do a good job, 'good job guys!', but sometimes i do get the impression mods close threads because they arent interested in their content. that seems a little unfair to me.
  5. i like it. and does it even matter if he used someone elses art as a component of the composite piece? looks good, i want a tech sig :D
  6. first of all, id like to convey my sincerest condolences to the people of london, those hurt and injured by the bombings and those whos families have been touched by this event. ive been thinking about the events of the day for some hours and cant work out why we, the uk, would be a target now. g8 maybe? well, g8 has never been a target for terrorists before. why london? g8 isnt held in london. They didnt blow up any significant land marks. the timing must be significant, its too much of a coincidence. but why? lets play a game of Bush's Price is Right! following the bombings: - british and american defence budget? high or lower? - support for increasing foreign aid? higher or lower? - relative importance and concentration of national/internationalo focus on environmental reform? high or lower? who really benefits from the outcomes of these? not us, not people in developing countries. just look for whos got a spring in their step at the g8 this week. i think alot of hard issues will be passed over at the g8 because of this.
  7. what we learned in physics at school was that the universe is not infinite, but is currently expanding so fast you would never be able to reach the edge of it. Light itself cannot keep up with the speed at which the universe is expanding, which gives us 'doppler red shift', things further away in the universe appear redder. This is caused by the stretching of light beams as they travel from a point moving away from us faster than light can travel to us. I figure the universe is doughnut shaped. mostly cuz doughnuts are great and if the universe is shaped like anything id want it to be something nice. would suck if the universe was shaped like... say.. an inflamed, puss filled cow udder.

    MechWarrior?

oh man, mech warrior 2 rocked my sox back in the day. I played mechcommander for years online too, any1 else used to play on mplayer? (believe now owned by gamespy) lovin mechcommander league battles over a 56k connection ! mmmmm laggy.
  9. inside: its very important that you use high alcohol fluid (and i dont mean super strong beer) because this will eqaporate easily and not cause shorts on the circuitry. you need to use a real hair brush for dusting as man made fibres will cause a large build up of static on the brush and cause damage. outside: standard cleaning wipes are always good, baby wipes or screen cleaners. avoid using a vaccume cleaner on air vents as friction from the air movement can cause some damage.
  10. you need to use a proxy server while the pages load, u can then drop the proxy and play the game with ur normal ip address. i use steganos internet anonym pro 7 but there are tons of free proxy servers out there, just google for free proxies! this is a tried and tested fix, even works when ipconfig/dnsflush doesnt.

    Way to go canada!

hrm. u can see homosexuality as useless in a purey procreative perspective. but if you choose to do so, where does runescape, drinking, nightclubs, dope, hobbies, art, music etc etc fit in? if you made all useless but fun persuits illegal, life would be 'purposful' but extremely boring *yawns widely* [after thought: posting that message didnt help further the spead of my genes, should forums be delegallised as useless?]

If the entire species becomes homosexual, sure, but just because * marriage is allowed doesn't mean every human being is going to become homosexual. No but it certainly isn't benefitting the species which violates evolutionary Laws (or theories). No, but it's not hurting us, so, why prohibiting it? If it's not hurting us or helping us, then it should neither be prohibited or encouraged. It doesn't do any good to outlaw something that's harmless or to promote something that's useless. So, if people want to practice homosexuality, let them, but don't encourage it by changing the law to make them feel more accepted. Allowing it isn't neccesarily encouraging it, it's just allowing it. It's not like there's going to be an ad-campaign "Guys, marry other guys! It's FUN!!"... lol lol.. there should be an advert of that :D id star in it!

    Way to go canada!

Im g-a-y, im have no intentions of marrying in a religious ceremony. The main reason for supporting g-a-y marriage being introduced is that most laws concerning financial aid, medical aid, next of kin (once a partner has died) and guardianship of children is dictated by marital status. In other words, if your not actually **married**, be it in a church or a registry office, you dont get any of these things. The medical aid is the big one tho. If a couple arent legally married, one partner cannot get government support if they have to leave their job to support the other partner. They have no legal visitation rights to those partners in restrictive care (immediate family only) and will not recieve any inheritance from their partner should they die without writing a will. All of these things are taken for granted by the majority, but denied to those who cannot be married.
  16. plan 2: right click ur desktop - create a new link as the location, type in 'Shutdown -s -t 30' and name it shutdown. schedule this to execute at a specific time using task scheduler in admin tools in ur control panel.
  17. this was posted in another thread by someone else. go to command prompt type ipconfig then type ipconfig/flushdns that will resolve the problem.
  18. download the desktop client for rs?
  19. hrm. interesting argument. im agnostic, i openly admit i have no idea if god exists. Id hope that if god does exist it would be wise enough to understand why i cant believe in something i cant understand. i like science, i think that physics is beautiful. one of the best things i ever heard came from my physics teacher. we are all made of carbon, us, plants, the earth. Carbon is only created in the heart of dieing stars when they supernova. Its just too awesome to know we are all made of dead stars, recycled and brough to life. The universe reborn inside our bodies. theres gotta be so much we are yet to learn.
  20. my job sucks sometimes, like when i have to actually do work, but where i work is the best place ive ever been to. We have all free food and drink, including can and chocolate vending machines. We have our own inhouse cook who just makes us food when we want it. We have arcade games (point and shoot sega arcade games, pointblank, time crisis, house of the dead and big buck hunter) and can chat on msn while we work. we're soon to be getting networked xboxes for the two buildings so we can play lan games between the two offices. :D *grr* when the offices split, they got the air hockey table, im still bitter about that one.

Thats true and its a good thing. It wouldnt be so great if it was illegal for a gay person to marry someone of the opposite sex, afterall, what would hollywood actors and pop stars do then? also.. magical trevor is both very annoying and unbelievably addictive. *mummbles*.. where is he now, disappearing the cow...
  22. has anyone heard the song Lazyboy - Underwear goes inside the pants ? i really want to know who comedian is thats sampled on that track. if any1 knows, please let me know :D :D

    Way to go canada!

I know this is gonna be locked to stop people filling the boards with bad vibes but I just wanted to say congrats to canada for a good call and move towards true equal rights. As a g-- teenager who has spent time living in both canada and the uk I dont think theres so much difference between the laws of the uk and canada when it comes to g-- marriage or g-- relationships, but its important always to put it in writing, to give people the social security they need to express themselves. We can all be proud that we live in a time when laws protect the discriminated and encourage and foster self expression. After all the bad news we all see every day on tv and in the papers, its nice to notice something great has happened while we werent looking. We, as a generation of people who benefit from the concept of a totally global community (via the internet) have played no small part in changing the world. Issues like global capitalism, labour laws, g-- rights and freedom of information have all been played out on online with the support and interest of people like us. I think we should all feel smug. [smug]mmmmm[/smug] ps. appologies to mods for re-opening a locked topic, i just really needed to post on this topic since it was brough up. Please lock or remove this thread if you wish. pps. why is the word g-- asterisked? its hardly a rude or offensive word.
  24. ah ha! looks like it might be a routing issue. if you use a proxy outside your local area (usa, if ur in the uk or europe) it works fine. I wouldnt recommend going pking or dragon slaying using a proxy tho  happy gaming all.
  25. yup yup, both me and my friend get just a black screen when we click to play. the index page is slow to load too. any resolution for this problem or just sit and wait??
