he can do that and probably will do that. Remove the world switcher but leave the other things on it. But with ss going in and out of legality constantly I just decided to stop using it. That switching without a notice puts my account at risk and the last thing I want is the account I've spent 3+ years on being jeopardized.

I'll probably get 99 tomarrow later in the afternoon, so keep an eye out, it all depends on how much time I have but there whole be a whole ton of notice about the 99 (a few hours maybe) so keep an eye out. 'they do more harm than good' What harm do they do?!?! Makes crowded worlds even more crowded, causing server problems. However, I'm pretty convinced they can't tell if you save a copy of the world to your desktop under like the fire fox client...

I'm glad to see Andrew commented on the subject, it laid my issues with it at rest. I deleted Swiftswitch from my pc yesterday. I no longer need it anyway after finding gadwin printscreen (which is all I really used ss for). I didn;'t realize how much money it was costing Jagex for us to use a little banner and I'm glad that Andrew offered suggestions as to how to fix the issue (add a button to make them update rather then auto updating). People are constantly accusing Jagex of thing's because they listen to people around them complaining and..I guess its just "cool" to rebel or something. Jagex is doing just fine and had good reason for doing the rule changes as they did. How anybody can complain after reading Andrew's quote on the matter is beyond me. Stick with Jagex rules, enjoy the game, or just get out of the ballpark. Also, on the topic of world switchers. If you have a world saved to your desktop under a firefox address or something...How could jagex be able to tell that you linked yourself to it? I dont think it's possible is it?

Works perfectly on my end. It must be your computer's settings or you have out-dated java software. Ironic you mentioned that. I have been getting "Java Update" messages for a week or so... problem solved :P

Jagex isn't required to show us anything because by playing their game we essentially agree to frequently check the terms and conditions of using their game. They could, if they wished, simply start banning people without warning for violating these new revisions to rule 7. I don't understand what the big deal is. So you can't get into world 2 easier? Ever considered trying the next world up? World 6? If more people simply accepted that world 2 is full and went to 6, we could have two market worlds instead of 1. So you can't take screenshots easily? Download one of the hundreds of programs specifically designed for taking screenshots quickly and easily, like Gadwin PrintScreen as several users suggested. So you can't talk to clan mates and friends in a chatroom? Most 3rd party clients using a chat system are using a version of IRC, one which is easily available to use elsewhere, such as mIRC, which can connect to the same server as most of the 3rd party clients legally. So you can't lookup your stats or a friend's with ease? Again, most servers (including Tip.It's server) on IRC have totally legal bots that can lookup anyone given their rs name. Seriously people it's not that big of a hinderence. Like I said, people are blowing it out of proportion. Most have become prone to taking shots at Jagex because it seems to be the thing to do these days for some reason. Everyone will have forgotten all about this in a week or so. I was angry earlier but I've calmed down and reolized that it's really not a huge deal.

gotta read the posts mate. since it auto updates there are thousands of those things pinging the site. This costs lots of bandwidth which costs jagex lots of money.

Hey, I'd prefer if you didn't quote me on that in your sig. Jagex does read these forums and I dont want them to get mad at me over something. I was angry at the time. I'm fine now, I understand the updates better and why they were done. Dynamic sigs were banned due to bandwidth problems these updates aren't as serious as people are making them out to be.

this isn't going to kill the game. All they did was ban 3rd party clients and dynamic sigs. It's not THAT drastic of a thing :? jagex isn't telling you how to play. They're telling you that using these programs is not fair to others and gives you an advantage with everything in one place. I'm mainly upset about the calcs...thats just rediculous calc's aren't banned....?

Me and Lord were trying to block them from running the course by standing in their way when we were apes. Little ninja monkies just run through your legs though... In short, Jagex was very specific in their questions and didn't give anyone an option to specify that they would use SS or Metis for world switching. This is a complete travesty and a complete waste of time. As others have said in this thread, Jagex is just flexing their muscles again, which is a sad state of affairs. JAGEX actually said that? It's interesting to see that they were using the tip.it poll instead of a poll that they issued. Very strange. They better make a post on the official site about it soon before people start getting mad again. Doesn't really bother me, the only thing that does is not allowing dynamic sigs.

Jagex are making some poor decisions here, they will lose a lot of business over it (yes a lot of people like ss THAT much). Also, they lied to the fan base and then didn't announce the changes. Hopefully they will make a post on it soon? I wouldn't be surprised if they outlawed screenshot posting and video posting as well....

I Agree with you. but banning stat sigs? whats up with that?.... To be honest, they steal bandwidth by making constant pings against the highscores server. I think it's fair. Calculators are actually legal from the above rules, because they only ping the server once. Dynamic stat signatures are constantly contacting the highscores servers. well these have been in place forever, I havent seen a problem so far so why would there suddenly be a problem now?

It's not the client that bothers me, its the dymanic sigs, whats so wrong with them? I was just about to post on this myself. All I used ss for was the auto cropping but I figured out a better way to do it so I don't need it anymore. Also, how can they tell if you access it through favorites? your still accessing it through a certain client (ie or firefox) and thats the way its going to look.

That only effects the xp amount. It doesn't effect how you hit. What effects how you his is the attack style relative to what the monster is weak against (crush stab or slash). whip is all slash so they are all the same. (i think)
