Harder To Train?

Turnpikes

Recommended Posts

This has been bugging me now for about a month.. I hear people say, "It's harder to train defence." or "It's harder to train strength." Well, is there really any difference in attack, strength, defence training? If you use a dragon scimitar, i don't see how it matters. :-? Unless I missed out on something. :x People say the exp goes "slower" if you train one or the other.. I don't see that anywhere when I train. :-s

training attack makes you hit more frequently as in, the mode = accurate, but in defensive mode, you get hit less.

so, if you gain attack lvls while using accurate your going to hit more accurately then defensively even before you lvl up.

I think training defense is harder because you don't hit as much since you have a defensive attack apposed to an accurate or aggressive one.
That only effects the xp amount. It doesn't effect how you hit. What effects how you his is the attack style relative to what the monster is weak against (crush stab or slash). whip is all slash so they are all the same. (i think)

So wait.. if you actually train strength with a weapon, you can hit higher?

I thought it was like this.. if you have 80 strength, it just the same max even when you train defence.. :-$

no, your max increased by +1 usually when training in aggressive mode.

Well, technically, training defence means you get less hit by the monster, do you can stay at the place you train for a longer period of time.

But def and att will always be easier to train due to the whip, the d scimmy is just weak.

but they both used pc to get 200m

Personally for some reason i can't hit for beans using acc option i hit WAY better under Def option... Thats why my def exp is higher than atk by almost 3m. A lot of people prob will think i am nuts but i am not lol.. I wanted to get 14m to attack but i hit sooo many 0s i got annoyed and kept it defensive. As for str scimmy really isn't a fav of mine at all... Its not accurate enough for me even with 99 atk i still hit a lot of 0s

Would not dharocking be just as fast if not faster than a whip?

Dharoking is iffy, you may hit higher, but your 2 times slower, and your inaccurate.

If dharoks was as accurate as a whip, then they would be around eachother.

If you believe that training on attack raises your chances of hitting, training on strength makes you hit more (yes, it does actually), etc, and have therefore said that training on defence makes it slower, remember that then you won't get hit as much, and will therefore be able to train longer.

You can actually get like 100k experience per hour dharoking. I've only managed 83k in one hour, but that's because I always pick up herbs

ranged is awful to train, i hate it so much, its like 3, 4 11, 4 , 5 0 , 1, 6. its like 90% of the time your doing damage but its never like high damage. i gotta castle wars with a msb and iron arrows and its like constant damage from a distance, but i know i could melee harder. so i just get pissed. i love the ability to shoot arrows at people and hurt them from a distance, but honestly wtf is with range? i hit 23s with crystal bow potted. and thats good, for range but wtf? 30 damage @ 60 magic... range just needs a lil empowering that doesnt suck, the crossbows were decent but wow its outrageous to get all that stuff especially for a reasonable bolt.

id love to have 99 ranged, but wow...take forever and i love the idea of the accumulator but i still have memorys of before it and pick up whatever it doesnt or feel bad for not. and alot of good spots i want to go, dont allow for it or are crowded. id goto the ogre cage, fence... dust devils... i think the flood messes it up. if i could use it in castle wars, id train range their. i guess ape atoll is my best bet.

yea, but you better have a decent internet connection and/or friend around you. thats pretty risky, i presonally like staying around 20hp when i dharok.

Well in RSC if you chose a particular style of attack you would get a +3 bonus in that area. (If you were on attack mode you would be getting a +3 attack boost). I'm not sure if this carried over to RS2 but that could affect how well you hit using each of the attack styles.

It did, that's why using strength mode usually increases your max hit by 1. Also controlled gives +1 to all 3 melee skills at once.
