Well, my girlfriends trying to force me to watch the new series, but i dont intend to watch it. I did get into it for a small part of the first series, but it bored me...

I think the reason rain forests get so much attention is all the cute and cuddly animals in there, well, the more cute and cuddly animal than slimy fishes and plankton anyhow. Just saying water pollution is more important than rain forests in the end. Is this in reference to climate change? Because the prolem with cutting down forests is not necessarily the lost oxygen production, but the lost carbon dioxide consumption. Sorry if I was totally off track there. Precisely. There ought to be funding into alternative sources of wood like materials, and restrictions so that the rainforests, the few we have left, are protected.

Would education abolish poverty? Like stated, we could have all the knowledge in the world, but you cant eliminate natural disasters. I'd like to think Bush was on to Terrorism, but i cant. Child abuse is much more extensive than calling 911 if you're 'getting beat'. Most of the victims are 2 or 3 years old.

Hmm, well i played Gears Of Wars, and although the short lived experience was awesome, it was SO hard - I think i got to like the 5th cut scence, and gave up... Far to hard for my liking. Not really that desperate to go buy a guide either, so i'll tackle it again during half term.

However, with the right education and the right resources, we could educate the third world populations to become agriculutural (sp?) workers, which would inturn generate an income - The only problem with that is the occurance of natural disasters... It would have little effect training them all, only to have their year crops ruined with one natural disaster.

Well, we all know there are many 'problems' with the world, but which d'you think is in the biggest need to be adressed? Climate Change? Poverty? The reconstruction of our rain forests? Child abuse? Education? Terrorism? Crime? One could argue many are linked: Eg. If we reconstruct the rainforests, we can try to combat global warming, but that isn't the whole picture. If you had to try and define the critical problem with world, and a possible way to combat it, i'd like to hear from you. Keep it clean, and if feel free to post others not on my 'list'. ~Gin and Tonic.
