  1. Reminds me of my atari. Though that's the vibe I get from most pixel signatures; nes, snes, genesis, atari, colecovision... ah.. nostalgia.
  2. You people are weird. It's a sad fact that some can't figure the base meaning of artistic reference and ripped artwork. Heres a hint - it happens to be simple as rights; more specifically the rights that YOU have (or don't have) to use the material in question. If you have the rights you can even use it in your artwork - albeit some uses are obviouly lame or otherwise Gay. If you don't have the rights... you can't even use it as a vague reference. Tracing, imho, is only really useful if you are practicing or.. ofcourse.. if you are a vector artist or modeler.. then it's only photographs or other artistic resources that you have permission to use such as sketches and such. Though thats just an opinion since apparently ripping in general is a very opinionated subject as shown by a 4 page topic... ... (?..?..?) The only real use for tracing is if it is an artistic resource you have the right to use and you are using it as a vector or modeling; mediums where your creativity and/or artistic ability are made much more apparent due to the inability or high probability of replicating the object in question.
  3. For starting up it's pretty good. Though I don't agree with trying to replicate a scene rather than artistic interpretation, it's stil great for starters. Afterwards theres that whole practice make perfect stuff that annoys everybody because it's true. Meh. =p
  4. It needs.. to be deleted. Instead of trying to learn by making one huge complex thing starting off it's easier (and better) to make a large amount of smaller.. and easier scraps.. Otherwise, look up Mr. Martin's space articles.. As much as I dread to see a couple hundred cookie cutter copies, he does to explain the actual 'dynamics' of space in his guide.
  5. Benefits? Aye - I live on lakefront so I suppose I can deal. Anyways, as much as I hate to admit it, i'll probably be making my money with the buy-sell trade. Some reason I have a knack for getting great returns in small business. ( my good looks, perhaps? ) Which is lucky since there is nothing but small businesses around here. Good luck, lucky bastard. ( btw, link some work :( )
  6. Buu. The closest job around here that deals with digital art is... uh, well. I don't know of one. I guess that a disadvantage of living in rural america.
  7. Actually he never said they sucked. Only that there were better possibilities.. which there are. Also, terry made this topic to understand why the hell they're so popular here.. and for abit of shens as well I assume.
  8. You disgrace the name of Zepp - You should have stole a different name more suiting to yourself... like Richard Simmons. 1) Photoshop CS is around 150 MB - Not 700. I've had many friends d/l it with ease on 56k. 2) Most people do things illegally as far as warez goes. Personally - The only people I believe I rip are game publishers.. unless I really like the game and im not strapped for cash. Otherwise, all I am using programs such as.. Maya, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.. for are as learning tools. As long as I don't use them for profit there isn't much wrong imho. Furthermore, i've seen more impressive stuff than these signatures on Oekaki animations. No, im not dissing them, they fit well... but you people really need to break out of your shells. You say you put all of this time into these things, as if that means something - All it means is that if you were airbrush vs. pencil tool your sigs.. no, your art - would be MUCH better. All this hard effort really only prooves that you encase your talents within the limits of these pixels style... and even in just doing signatures. Put down that pencil tool and start up with airbrusing. Trust me.. you'll like it.
  9. #1 - Yes, trends last a hella long time if there are enough [bleep] for them. #2 - Don't say anything about abstract when you've only seen modifier [bleep]. Try to find somebody who knows what their abstract piece is going to look like BEFORE they start modeling. #3 - Pixel sigs fit well here, i'll agree, but sometime later on people will be so sick of the thinks they'll want to shoot the people who have them.
  10. A girl you "know". If you know one just give it to her already. =P
  11. lol   and skull, he want's to give it to a girl because the main theme of the sig is the girl... That.. and teh booty.. fo sho'
  12. M.Sheedy? Thats FF's name.. or something. Anyways I recognise the Sheedy atleast. Speculators can bite myass.. nice and hard too.
