  1. There must be a valid reason for this? Or are you just jumping on the anti-apple bandwagon without thinking for yourself. Well if he is. You're just as bad, you're forcing a reply out of him because you jumped on the iPod bandwagon... Anyway I wouldn't buy this one in particular because of the price for one, and the fact I already have a 256MB MP3 player that does me fine, plus my phone... The main reason being, look at it... It looks small enough to snap. :?
  2. *Shakes head* BOOT! ... Like you boot from a floppy... :? Insert the CD into your primary ROM drive, go into the BIOS select CD-ROM as the first boot device, it'll then try to boot off the CD before Windows XP comes up. Press any key to boot Windows Setup when it says it. This is what we call booting from a device, what you're doing is auto-running in Windows. :P Just remember to make sure to keep IDE0 or HDD0 as your second or even third boot device, it'll need to boot from it eventually and it saves you changing it all the time. Best boot option is Floppy, CD-ROM and then HDD. In the unlikely case you can't find the option tell me what type of BIOS you have and I'll attempt to point you in the correct direction.
  3. Hey Stringzz. You probably won't remember cougar_uk_2k (me). But I remember you being about. Good to see you back.
  4. If the extension is .mov download Quicktime from Apple. If the extension is .swf download the Flash Plugin from Macromedia. If the extension is .avi or .mpg download GSpot from http://www.headbands.com/gspot/download.html Run Gspot with the file and it'll tell you what codecs you need, take a screenshot or tell us what codecs you need, and we can point you in the right direction. If the extension is .rm or .ram download Realplayer from Real.com
  5. Try this first before formatting. On the first screen after booting from the CD, select 'R'. It might ask you what installation, just choose 1 and press Enter/Return. It may ask for a password, just press enter. As soon as you have a C:\ Prompt type "CHKDISK /P" minus the "s obviously. After it's done, run "CHKDSK /R" altogether on a loaded machine it may take up to 2 - 3 hours in total. Just check it every so often. Then type "EXIT". This will reboot the system and it should load into Windows. If not... Format or try what's below. This works in my experience over 85% of the time, what you do is use a Windows XP CD. Boot from it, on the first step DO NOT select repair. Instead select to continue (Enter/Return). Press F8 to agree to the license, then it'll scan for a Windows installation, if it finds one. Now press 'R' and it'll remove system files and reinstall them.
  6. The idea of a Beta (IE7 in this case) is it's released for people to test on test machines, it's not to be used as your main browser and especially not on your main machine. Speaking from experience you can't return to IE5 from IE6 without a lot of hassle, so I doubt you can go back. As an easy fix I suggest you try Firefox, Opera or Netscape.
  7. Kung Pow. Which in turn was the biggest load of crap I've ever seen. :? If you guess the car, you're wrong. I want the full title. :P
  8. The Shawshank Redemption. Easy one.
  9. If you press CTRL+ALT+DEL two or three times while waiting for the login screen, does it bring up the manual login prompt? If so post up a HiJackThis log while in normal windows. Might be something in there. If not, how easy is it for you to do a format. :P
  10. I want that phone. :( I'm never signing up for a 12 month contract again, I need to keep my hunk of junk till MARCH.
  11. It's out now in british cinema's. No rick it's not that. :P
  12. Nope! Plain english title, no funny european stuff. It's American made I think. :) Highly acclaimed movie out very recently, and it's excellent! :D Edit: Clue - Look at his neck, there's a mark. I'm not saying how it happened but if you've seen the movie you'll know.
  13. My first phone was a Motorola brick m3788e (From my parents for a school trip down south when i was about 13.) Then a nokia 3210 (Christmas money) Nokia 3310 (Got given it) Nokia 3510i (Bought it at Christmas, 3 months later mum washed it.) Sony Ericcson T630 (Bought from wages) Samsung D500 - Current phone (Couldn't afford the ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã300 price tag, so got it free on Contract) So from a ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã35 motorola to a ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã300 samsung in 6 years, not bad. :P
  14. New movie, out this year.
  15. Yeah that's not an SLi enabled board. Still good enough for what most people use a pc for. :)
  16. I used to sit on my feet for that feeling, I kinda like it... Once after sitting on my feet for a good few hours at the computer I tried getting up, oh my god that was fun, two dead feet. They just flopped and it took about 3 minutes to get them working again.
  17. Don't link directly or you may get red X's and people like me will try and look at them by right clicking and selecting properties... http://www.scifimoviepage.com/images/tremors.jpg By any chance would the movie be Tremors? Photo coming up unless someone beat me. Never mind, Daan beat me. Edit: Ok nothing happening so I'm up! :D
  18. Yeah but it can't do 3 things at one time. 8) Actually 6 hardware threads in total, I'm unsure exactly on the architecture of a processor. Does that mean that it could do 6 things at once? Where the FX-55 can do ONE. Two posts this morning I've seen you bragging in and it's apparent that maybe mummy and daddy have given you too much. Edit: Grammar.
  19. You know what's funny. You're speaking like you're into all this high performance yet you have 4 sticks of memory rather than 2. Having 2 being the slightly faster option. Also don't make recommendations for someone to get the priciest and best video card on the market, and especially make him buy a new motherboard aswell (if he doesn't already have one). Do you really think that a person shopping for videocards on ebay is going to go out and buy two ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã300+ video cards on a whim?
  20. I hope they pay good overtime... :? Quite honestly I'd rather they weren't "breathing diesel fumes from a generator " I'd rather they just left the place to itself and go out and helped people. This corresponds with what someone posted yesterday about Americans helping everyone else but not their own people.
  21. Manhole, and no it's not Sin City, the film was actually shown in colour. The black and white isn't there to throw you off though, it's imdb's fault. :P
  22. Trainspotting. Where he dives into the bog, damn that was mingin'. Nice 'n' Easy Edit: Link fixed.
  23. True but I still couldn't give two tosses. :?
