My team is me (124 - 99 range), another buddy (123 - 94 range) and a third bud (117 - 99 mage) Me and my ranger friend kill supreme and prime, while the mage kills rex. All three have guthans, rangers have rune arrows and kharils on, mage ice blitz or slayer darts. Fairly simple set up, lasts us about 2 hours.

Player-Made 'Lookin' Good Guide' (Mix and Match here)

My little camper -
I'm not sure why this is so tough for everyone to grasp. To me it's fairly obvious what happened here. In the first post, the topic starter stated that the kid had just had a 91 RC party. I'm sure as preperation for this event, a few of his buddies that were planning on attending the upcoming 'shindig' got some level 3 clues and did them the day of. They got their chests from the clue but didn't open them until they were on the island. The rune armor that is shown in the picture could have easily had been gotten from 1 or 2 people doing this. As far as the Dragonhide and bow goes, didn't you guys ever do lost city? Granted it can be done using just runes, but for the most part, I believe most people who do the quest fletch and craft those items on the island. I was under the impression that was common knowledge that could be done.

I remember reading something awhile back about how it was possible to charge a crystal bow before it had been changed to a seed by using another crystal bow that is already in it's seed form. Could someone please direct me to a post or explain to me how this is done? Also: before all you wannabe mods tell me that the search button is my thread. Been there, done it, and after looking through 17 pages for the answer, i figured I'd ask if anyone knew off hand. Thanks - Matt

Thats really weird actually.... I tried it myself after I read your post, I'll post the steps of how I did it, as just having two RS windows didn't work for me. First I opened to runescape windows to the log in screen, both in high detail, one in member, one in free world (although I doubt ftp or ptp has anything to do with it). I then waited for the songs to load at which point they were playing on top of eachother. I then closed on of the windows, and the remaining window's song changed to that nice new one that you had uploaded. During that song I opened another window and let the music load, the music changed to something different and when I closed the new window, it changed to another completely different style. Very strange find. BTW - Multi logging is bad

Cool story about getting the best of a scammer
Fingerfelder replied to Fingerfelder's topic in General Discussion
Little follow up to that story: Today I saw someone doing that same thing, but this time, he took me into the wildy, and didn't even attack me, just traded me the tops and I tele'd. Fastest 4 tops I've ever gotten lol. -
I think I am also missing what he see's.... maybe he talking about the fact that dharok is just standing there, and not moving. Not sure though because its a still frame.

Speaking of updates that I would hate if they actually affected me... The chaos druid drop rate for herbs has more than halved. Say goodbye to the already too short supply of herbs we have now.

I personally like the idea. Not taxing the money in the bank, but taxing the money that changes hands. This would, over time, lower the amount of gold pieces in the game which I believe is getting a bit out of hand (btw: I'm not saying that because I'm poor, I'm also guilty of hording money earned from kings and barrows). I would suggest a 5% tax on all trades involving cash. Yes the first few months after this update all the prices of the items would simply raise 5%, however over time everything would even out, people would get used to it, and no one would complain. oh yeah and: Just one word... "banks" Of course there are others, like the general stores and all the other shops but if you were around when banks weren't you'll know how important that "service" is.

Thanks for all the awesome replies guys. If anyone else has any good stories about getting the best of someone trying to take advantage of people, I'd love to hear some of them. -
Cool story about getting the best of a scammer
Fingerfelder replied to Fingerfelder's topic in General Discussion
Sorry to hear that man, I've never been scammed personally, thanks to all you helpful tip.iters. Was it a common one that got you or was it something new the tip.it community should know about? Hopefully a bunch of people will see this post and start doing it back to them, eventually they might get annoyed that we are finally fighting back :) -
Here's my story :) So, my story starts out in edgeville on wednesday evening. A little level 75 with a magic shortbow on comes up to me and asks me if I have a whip. I said "sure do!" and proceeded to pull the whip out to show him. He then asks me "wanna make 200k real quick?" and I said absolutely, I'm always up for making a quick buck. At this point I knew exactly what this guy was attempting to do. I should probably explain what the scam is before I go on with the story. The scam is like this, Scammer finds someone with a whip, offers him cash to kill him for a 'clan movie' so he can get accepted. Person with whip accepts and follows the person to the wildy with just his whip. The scammer than proceeds to take him to low hp and then trades the person with the whip his payment, (4 mystic tops) that all save over whip. He then shoots out a quick special and kills the person and gets the whip. So after figuring out what this person is attempting, I go to my bank to 'deposit' everything in my inventory but my whip which I leave equipped. I pull out a full load of sharks, anti poisen, ice blitz runes, glory, and full ahrims which I leave in my inventory so he doesn't see them. The guy takes me to level 25 wild and starts attacking me with mithril arrows and a magic shortbow. He gets me to low HP and then tries to trade me the mystic tops, at this point, I eat, throw on my ahrims and start whacking away with my whip. He tells me to stop and tells me I'm not going to get paid if he doesn't kill me and I tell him that I don't want the payment anyways. I whack away til he has no food, at which point he decides it's a good time to run, 2 ice blitz's later and he's curling up on the floor. I grab the 3 mystic tops (he protected one) and 400 mithril arrows along with his tele runes to varrok and MSB, run to level 19 wildy and elf crystal the hell out of there. I then head back to edgeville to check out if he's back there and suprise suprise, he's there waiting to flame me. I then have a 20 minute conversation of him calling me a noob, then asking me to buy the tops off me, then people coming up and asking if he tried to scam my whip and flaming him. I told him and all the observers that he wasn't getting the tops back, as they were my trophies and I was running low on tops anyways, and he parted ways with a "F U noob". So, if you guys are ever bored, or if someone ever tries to get a whip off you this way, try this, it's good fun :). Hope you enjoyed the story, I'm not as eloquent with my words as some of the other talented writers in these forums are, but I think I got my story across OK. - Fingerfelder

I think there is defintely some truth to this, I don't get random events very often, but when we are down at the dag kings and I'm maging rex or ranging prime, me and my buddy always get at least one zombie (the one with the coffins) per trip. There is very little clicking that goes on down there and this is the only area that I have ever gotten this random. I'm also gonna go out on a limb here and say in the past 10 trips I've done, when i tele'd out I got a random event 50% of the time. This include, MOM's, Strange plants and swarms, not just the cool ones where you get special gear. Now that you bring this theory up, this makes quite a bit of sense to me as when I am down there, I'm there for 2 hours doing very little clicking hence, when i tele I figure I have a 50/50 chance to get a random.

Quick suggestion, get your combat up a few levels, I'm guessing you have about 76-78 HP, and thats gonna be cutting it awefully close at KQ with only 1 partner, not even sure if it will be possible for you and 1 other person. I would also recommend that you try to find someone on your friends list to do that with you that way if you happen to die while down there, you can get your helm back. I'm not saying don't trust people here at tip it, because by all means this is the best RS community out there, but with a group this large, your bound to find 1 or 2 bad apples.

So, for the past 6 semesters at the college I'm currently taking classes at, I've been able to log into my RS account on any computer, recently however they have set up a new proxy server that the entire network is running thru as a result of a couple credit card thefts and internet "abuse" that has taken place in some of the classes. I can see the credit card theft, and internet "abuse" (porn to be specific  ) being a problem, however, blocking a java based game seems a bit overboard. I'm guessing that Runescape is blocked by default on certain security programs and I'm working on figuring out a way around this. I've been messing around with surfola alot and i was just curious to see if anyone else has tried this and possibly figured a way around these DNS blocks other than surfola as I can't seem to figure out how to allow java in surfola without buying a membership. Any tips would be appreciated. - Matt

Jagex clearly stated in a PM that KC doesn't have anything to do with barrow drops but with runes and stuff. Jagex has given false info in replies to questions to their support team in numerous occasions. I for one have now started doing a KC of 20 and I have seen a significant change in my barrows drop rate.

How many hellhounds do i have to kill for a lv 3 clue???
Fingerfelder replied to lordpatrick5's topic in Help and Advice
367? You've got to have the worst luck ever. You sure your attacking the right monster? I've never had to kill more than 75 before I got a clue from them, and that number is really pushing it.
