Second Batch of Moderator Trainees!
Hopefully now you'll make enough money to give me cash to raise our love child. <3: Alas, the truth of our love can never be revealed, sweet Deathknell. The rest of the forums must never know. x Ohhhh this was the secret... Grats :shades: Yep, thanks.

Dragonstones and dragon bolts
This is a good rule of thumb in the Runescape economy, in general it doesn't work like how manufacturing in the real world does. I'll explain: RS Items have two properties that give them value, potential XP, and functional value. If we take this partial process: Uncut Dragonstone + Unfinished Rune Bolts > Cut Dragonstone + Unfinished Rune Bolts > Dragon Bolts > Dragon Bolts (e), we can see that as you go along, we get closer to something that can be used, from a dull rock and bits of metal to dragonfire blasting crossbow bolts. Its functional value is increasing. If something similar was done in the real world, that would be the only factor and the overall value would increase with each stage. However, in Runescape, items have potential XP, which can be yielded by processing them. In the process above, each stage involves a loss of potential XP, which starts with a heap of Crafting then a bit of Fletching and Magic XP, leaving nothing left when you end up with the finished product. Its XP potential is decreasing. XP for 'processing' skills, such as Fletching, Smithing, Magic and Construction inherently have a value, so by processing it, you're removing this value from the item and adding it to your account. In this case, the XP you extract is worth more than the added functionality of the finished product, so the overall value goes down for most, if not all, stages. I hope that made sense, if not, I apologise.

Few POH questions
1. Nearly all of them! The most common configuration is putting your house in Yanille, building two portal rooms, and getting all of the portals apart from Yanille. Also, mount a Glory in an easily accessible Quest Hall for 4 more 'portals'. The more you have, the easier it is to treat your POH as a functional 'hub' instead of just a useless curiosity. With this many 'standard spellbook' teleports at your disposal, it makes keeping your spellbook to Lunars or Ancients for extended periods of time less of a sacrifice. 2. There's a certain amount of personal taste here, and most locations have some good arguments for certain specialists putting your house there, but Yanille is usually the best place. You simply can't beat a nearby bank for functionality. As Sy said, you can chip house tablets with a chisel after doing Love Story, which can send you to all of the house portals (and Trollheim if you do a small task at the end), which makes this much less of an issue. 3. Construction has a selection of extremely fast methods for impractical prices (we're talking hundreds of millions), which I don't think will help you. The most practical method, a balance between speed and cost, is commonly accepted to be repeatedly building and removing Oak Larders while getting your butler (not a demon butler!) to fetch you oak planks from the bank. When you hit 80, move on to Oak Doors with the same method. Conveniently, doing Love Story will also reduce the fee for using the butler, which in turn will reduce your overall costs. I hope these answer your questions.

What was the worst thing you were caught doing at school?
On my last school trip to Greece, about 15 of us held a real money poker night in a different hotel room each night with lots of vodka. Got caught on the fourth night, all of us got detentions when we came back. Worth it. I'll also admit to spreading the word on how to bypass the filters on games on the school computers, to the point of the IT people just giving up, although I wasn't personally caught. I think other people got detentions using my 'methods' though. I certainly don't regret them.

Which Jagex Mod Would You Interview?
I'm going to have to vote Chris L. He seems like an interesting person. Either of the Gowers or MMG sounds like a boring choice. How about Mod Chrisso?

Cars with driver's side on the right side.
I don't believe it has anything to do with jousting, otherwise many more countries would drive on the left, since contrary to popular belief jousting isn't an exclusively British thing. My theory is that it's just one of those things that we did to simply do things differently, an attempt to develop a 'British' way of doing things. It didn't work, of course, but the damage was done. It's precisely because many of the countries in the world, particularly America, drive on the right that we drive on the left. That's my theory, anyway.

Maybe about the new additions to old minigames? Hmmmph, I'm not sure, I'm not into discussing minigames - it gets more repetitive than the article about bots that's just been published. I'll think of something, I think I have a few old ideas that I've left on my harddrive somewhere. >.> On Topic: I like the article about the trip to JaGex, it wasn't particularly topical but it's insightful in how JaGex operates. How about the Clan Citadels? Or is that too soon?

I highly suggest you store everything you can in a house. The costume room and bookcases will hold nearly everything you need. If you can't store it, consider whether you really do need to keep hold of it. That way, your bank isn't cluttered when you don't need that stuff, and more importantly, it keeps itself organised. It's fine to hoard, so long as you do it properly ;) According to rune wiki, there's 83 books that can go in the bookcase alone.

26-Jul-2011 Clan Citadels are Here!
The easy solution as far as I can see is to limit the build spots available for the genuinely useful stuff, so a single citadel can't have everything, but it can have just about anything. They have to make choices. For example, a Dungeoneering clan would obviously build a Dungeoneering party recruitment area and a Daemonheim portal, but it would have little use for an agility course. Members of that clan would still have to venture out in the world if they wanted to train agility. A penguin hunting clan would build enough obscure portals to make Blink cry (lighthouse portal, anyone?), but they would have no need for a Dungeoneering area. The members would have to travel to Daemonheim to do that. I could go on.

Who keeps that key -.- I do. Questing Tip #48: If it goes on your Steel Keyring after the quest, keep it. If it doesn't, destroy it.

But for most people, especially the type of people who join clans, that's pretty much what the game is. That's the appeal of having these Clan Citadels. If those Citadels don't encourage that, then what's the point of them?

Okay, I think I've seen enough to give a basic verdict. There just isn't enough here to justify the upkeep. I'll list some things that I think they need to have: 1. A Bank, at Tier 2. 2. A Grand Exchange Point. 3. A house portal, and the ability to move your house to it. 4. Lots of teleport portals, with a much wider range of teleports then what POHs provide, with an emphasis on minigames and skilling areas. 5. An area for forming Dungeoneering parties, with a corresponding portal that takes you straight into the dungeons. 6. Much better storehouses. There's nothing wrong with having reasonable stockpiles of resources for multiple weeks, so long as the work was done at some point. Getting rid of nearly all of it at the end of the week makes the whole thing feel futile. 7. Proper skilling areas with decent rates of experience that guests can use. Nothing is better for the community than services that can only be provided by other players, see Penguin Hide and Seek. Have an emphasis on getting more experience if multiple people work together. I think those are the ones that most people had in mind when they heard Clan Citadels. The Battlefield's fun and all, but it's not what we were thinking of. EDIT: Also, Jagex, take note; If you find yourself advertising 'Ideal Meeting Place' as a feature, you haven't put in enough features.

I really hope they've just given up on that. There's nothing wrong with having multiple words meaning the same thing, and we're going to call things what we want whether Jagex like it or not. I notice that the acronym "DDS" is still going strong.

This month is magnificent, I doff my hat to you, Jagex. This is the kind of stuff you should be doing. New Grand Exchange: Great. I think most of us have already seen the screenshots, and I look forward to it. :) Audio Updates: Fine. I would think Music would be a bigger priority than the Atmospheric Sounds and Sound Effects, but why not. Temple Trekking Rework: Woo! Looking forward to this so much. I loved the concept, but the execution was a bit dated. Jagex, it's always a good idea to revisit content and make them better, do this more often. :) Branches of Darkmeyer: Woo! Quests are my forté, so I might be a bit biased, but it's good to see that this month's is looking strong. Edgeville Update: I would think this would come under the Grand Exchange update since they're right next to each other, but I love graphical updates, so yay. :) Additional Rewards for Minigames: Lots of stuff under this, I'll pass judgement when I have more detail, but all of it looks good. I wonder what that level 85 Hybrid Armour is? out of curiosity, why do you hate to say it? I mean, that is probably my number one favorite thing to say about a month's updates Becuase I know that now i've said it, it's jynxed and all the updates will disappoint. But think about it, none of these updates are adventurous or experimental, there's really very little capacity for disappointment, and where there is, it's not like anything of value is at risk such as in the Temple Trekking update. This is pure, solid, "Year of Upgrades" content which really can't go badly wrong.

26-Jul-2011 Clan Citadels are Here!
I don't get why they're scared of people spending lots of time in the citadels. After all, lots of people spent a lot of time in Daemonheim and it's not like the rest of the world is deserted. In fact, if people aren't staying in the citadels at higher tiers if/when they're available to them, the update has failed in its purpose. It's supposed to be a base of operations, let people treat it that way. I don't mind if they do or don't make some kind of clan bank feature, but at the very least, there should be a regular bank.

Because you don't have to go all the way up to your resource limit to cover the upkeep. It's actually not very much, what requires time and resources is upgrading your citadel.

What on earth were they thinking, enabling xp on the battlefield? They give players unprecedented control over their own conditions, and don't stop to think that they might train there? Someone obviously didn't have their weetabix.

Do you look down on untrimmed Cooking capes?
And you're not a real contributor to the topic unless you sort out your grammar and start making relevant posts. To answer the OP, not really. I'm indifferent to pretty much every skillcape barring untrimmed slayer or summoning, runecrafting, max and completionist cape. I can't imagine how you would think less of someone because of an achievement, no matter how small. Think no more of them, maybe. I'll wear my own achievements with pride though, if only to myself. Also, my signature would be practically non-existent if I didn't.

- Ask Jagex About Clan Citadels! - ANSWERS!
I'm pretty sure the answer to your question was common knowledge, though. It always was going to be on instanced worlds. We've often complained before about them answering such questions at the expense of more informative ones, so actually I'd say they did the right thing. - Ask Jagex About Clan Citadels! - ANSWERS!
