checked over all possibilities... did it just stop working one day? Or did the sound kind of fail randomly and such? It could be the soundcard (most likely I guess) or just your speakers are dying / dead. Anyhow, go: Start > Run dxdiag click the 'sound' tab and do the DirectSound test. If that fails, then grab the Device name and start looking for drivers. It probably wouldn't hurt to check the speakers on another machine and perhaps try out some other speakers in yours in case of a failing jack.

Yea - you really shouldn't have any problems with those specs. Have you tried on 5.x yet? 3.x had some memory issues but 2.x should be solid. Go through all your winamp settings and such, see if you can find the solution then. It might just be something as simple as using the classic skins :-?

Hm, that's a little bit odd. I never ran into problems with winamp 2.x with Low detailed. What are your system specs? It could just be that you have too many processes taking up the clock cycle *shrug*

I just end the sentance with the smiley. I think it'd be technically correct to put the period after the emotion - but it would kind of be subjective since it would depend on why you are using said emotion in the first place.

playing on high detail with rs sounds on? That generally explains a lot. I get chunky music when I get two programs trying to play sound at once and one of which is really heavy on the cpu / ram.

In IM's I can put up with the occasional typo and shorthand. But when it comes to forums and there are typo's, shorthand and the like I really have to wonder 'why?'. There is no sudden rush to post the message since it isn't exactly real-time. And for the most part I take the posts of people who take the effort to make sure their post is readable more seriously than someone who hasn't. *shrug* @rocketman089: That too. @MPC: Technically the end of that email should've been "ttyl man" but whatever. If he wants to use the IM shorthand instead of the full acronym whatever :P
