Drinking - shots
When someone tells me how much they drank I've made it a rule of thumb to subtract about 30%.

Mercyful Fate - Dangerous Meeting I love the intro. Mercyful Fate is so talented, I'm surprised nobody knows about them except for Jay and Silent Bob.

Greatest Cause of Human Misery
I think some people already do desire being miserable. Van Gogh would go to the asylum because it would put him into a state of mind that spurred his creativity.

May 20th: New Slayer Monster Information.
First of all, I am not asking specifically for 95+. Anything above Abyssal Demons would suffice. I'm not asking for much - just trying to compromise. :) So then it makes no sense to make the Summoning Skill cape until a large amount of people reach 99? What about construction? Jagex should always have something for players to look forward to. That is the most rational "business" solution. Even though there are already monsters 1-90, and nothing that is 91-99... it is more rational to distribute them evenly? Ehh, my goal was 99, but I quit RS. In the grand scheme of things, 4/13 isn't that much. Yes, they should get new meat if there is enough to go around, but the others haven't even got their first servings yet.

Things that annoy the hell out of you
Ha, this is something I've realized too. Attack is my favorite because I despise missing, but some people just like Attack to feel like a nonconformist. Why oh why do we hate things just because others like them?

What Game(s) Did You Last Get and What Are You Playing?
Right now I'm playing FF12. I got it as a gift such a long time ago and I never beat it. What better time than this summer? :D I plan on doing all the side quests too.

May 20th: New Slayer Monster Information.
This is not the reason why. I don't even play RS anymore and I don't have high slayer, so the drop is irrelevant to me but yet I'm arguing that slayer needs higher leveled requirements. What I'm arguing for comes out of rationality and fairness, not greed.

The Miss USA beauty contest story
Destruction of families? What do you mean? And about child abuse, that would also be classified as pedophilia. I think pedophilia is wrong because of the severe psychological trauma it can have on children, but incest can exist without families being destroyed or children being raped. I'm just saying that most of the "reasons" people have for thinking negatively of strange sexual orientations are usually just scapegoats because the same arguments can be applied to things which they have no problem with. There is just something that bothers people about strange sexual acts. Take away all the factors, the birth defects, the destruction of families, etc. If you see a brother and a sister doing something sexual, you're probably going to be grossed out. Why? Simply because of the fact that they are related, not because of other reasons. "You don't eat ice cream with ketchup." "You don't sleep with your sister." The only reason why these things repulse us is because they aren't natural in our point of view. Back in bible days, it was completely acceptable to have incest relationships. It's nothing more than stigma. I think it's more wrong to say, "Homosexuality grosses me out because there is no reproduction involved," than it is to say," Homosexuality grosses me out but I don't have a reason."

Drinking - shots
Haha, I talked about this just today. I prefer drinking beer over doing shots. Of course I'd take a shot over being sober any day, but I've found that beer always gives me a more pleasant feeling than any liquor can.

Greatest Cause of Human Misery
I see our unhappiness as a means of progression. We don't like something, we complain about it, we try to make it better. Of course sometimes we reach a wall and can't possibly simplify things any further and sometimes we make things a lot worse, like the government for example. It is constantly being changed to theoretically become a better system, but does anything actually get much better in reality? No, problems are just being rearranged instead of solved. We make things easier by inventing televisions and building roads because we think it's what we want, but yet we're probably one of the most depressed generations to ever live. PS: This got me thinking... Can unintelligent creatures experience happiness?

Let's forget about the diseases for a second then. If incest babies came out just as healthy as normal babies, would you suddenly change your opinion about incest? I think there is more to our objections about strange sexual orientations than what the sex's outcome is. In fact, let's forget about the sex part. If you saw family members kissing (not having sex), would you still feel uncomfortable? I know I definitely would be having an uneasy feeling in my brain, but I wouldn't be able to put my finger on it and explain it. Some things don't need a reason. I don't need a reason why black is my favorite color.

It depends on how specific you want to get. My answer would have to be desire in general.

The Miss USA beauty contest story
Yes, this was what I was mainly trying to get at. I am personally bothered by it and when I ask myself why, I really can't think of a good answer. But I do think this is okay because that is how it works with the pizza. :P Of course discrimination is a different story than just having the personal opinion that it's nasty, because it actually has a negative effect on others. Sorry, I know I'm reiterating myself but I have to or else someone might jump in and think I'm supporting discrimination. As for her saying it should be banned, I do disagree with her but when you take her circumstance into account then I believe she's justified. If she was going out on anti-gay marriage campaigns then things would definitely be different, but she was forced to answer a random personal question so she shouldn't be expected to have a whole scientific explanation at the ready. I guess what I'm trying to say is that her opinion is free to be criticized but she herself has done nothing wrong.

May 20th: New Slayer Monster Information.
No one is complaining about high levels not having access to things. In fact, that's the opposite of what this debate is about. Most of us are talking about the incentive to raise slayer, not having as much access to monsters as we can. Slayer is exclusive from combat. You can train combat without training slayer. No one is complaining about drops either. You can have a high leveled slayer monster without an overpowered drop. Wow, nice biased assumptions. You assume that it's gonna be such a great weapon, even though Dark Beast was level 90 and only dropped Dark Bow. You also assume that we are going to be bored and complain, which is the worst argument I've seen on this entire thread. Finally, you forgot to add that the high level players should be entitled to it because they've put in more work. How does it make any sense at all to reward the slackers more than the hard workers? Seriously, how? I don't even play this game anymore so this update doesn't effect me, but from a spectator I know it's just ridiculous to add in more and more slayer updates when 91-99 have nothing while they are the levels with the highest portion of xp (the work put into the skill!) You can't just toss status out of the equation. That's the most important part. If there really was massive access to the weapon then it probably wouldn't be a good one. We already have many weapons in RS already so it keeps getting harder to release a weapon that people will actually use. And again, you assume that all we care about is a high leveled drop for our greedy selves when all we want is a reason to train slayer besides having a pretty level. Here we go again with the schism between high levels and low levels, a common argument brought up by the people who see this is an amazing and much needed update. I haven't seen any high levels acting like [wagon] on this thread. We're trying to have a debate about deserving a 90+ slayer monster, and you turn it into a battle of low levels VS high levels. Hmm, what does that tell me? If you're annoyed that they're complaining then you're no better by complaining about them. Seriously, the only people I see whining for no reason on this thread are the ones saying, "Shut up greedy high levels! 78 is gud!" Yeah. If they don't have enough time to play it then why should Jagex worry about making updates for them anyways? Lol, kind of shot yourself in the foot with that one. On a more serious note, I do think low levels deserve updates but there are already enough low leveled slayer monsters. 90-99 requires a lot more work than 78, and when it comes to video games it's a common principle to be rewarded based on how much effort you've put into playing. Look at all the games out there. You collect coins, gold, gems, etc. which require effort, and you use them to buy things. Usually the more expensive it is, the more useful it is. That's how games should work. It wouldn't make sense to make the 1k sword better than the 1m sword, would it? Runescape is an MMORPG. It's supposed to be adaptive to the players. It's not the players' faults that they are too strong. I can just as easily say that it's the low levels faults that they are lagging behind too much. You're basing things on population, which is fine but in this context it's a huge stretch. Just because there is more people in group A than group B doesn't mean that group A should be getting the updates and group B should get squat. Time to bring up that deadly question you guys like to ignore so much: Since there are more 99 Rangers than 99 Mages does that mean Jagex should keep making range updates and ignore the mages?

The Miss USA beauty contest story
I don't see that as a reason, I see that as a scapegoat. That would have to mean that infertile couples getting together would also be at least somewhat repulsive, because their intercourse isn't going to produce a baby. I'll be honest, homosexuality does bother me, although I would support them having marriage because it does not have a negative impact on me. Why does it bother me? The same reason I like the taste of pizza, like the sound of a song, etc. Being bothered by other strange orientations doesn't need a justification because it's just a personal opinion and nothing more. You don't need a justification for liking pizza. Of course, there is a large difference between discrimination and just having it bother you. If you are going to go to that level, then of course a justification is required (although it's impossible to think of one). I guess you could argue that she was being discriminatory, but I like to save that word for when things are actually serious. The girl said she thinks marriage should be between a man and a woman because that's how she was raised. Although I disagree with her, I think she was justified to say it.

The Miss USA beauty contest story
Then that means you should be opposed to couples with hereditary diseases conceiving children too. The main reason why people don't agree with others having strange sexual orientations is just because that's how they were brought up. There really is no good reason why it repulses us, other than "just because". Sex is a subject that lots of people get worked up about.
