  1. But part of the point of this discussion is comparing it to the Dragon Scimitar, in terms of how good it is for Strength training. I realize that the whip is definitely more accurate, but when I'm using the Obby Sword, I still rarely miss, and i'm still killing things faster than people with Sara Swords are. ~Dan
  2. One problem the Tip it Calculator is wrong, the dagger and the sword are backwards. The Sword hits the same as the Whip (As in my experience). The Sword may not seem like a good substitute for the whip, but...I have been using it recently on my tasks, and the one only one task that I seem to have trouble with using it are hellhounds, they tear me apart while I wear the berserker necklace (I have 95 def with guthans). But even then, the sword easily tears apart all my slayer task creatures. I suggest you to go try out this method before further commenting on this, because as I myself am using this, I am gaining just about as much xp per day as I do with the whip. Eh. Probably the two biggest reasons why this combination is barely used anymore is because: 1) No two invisible bonuses stack, (I think...) meaning that the black mask is useless. 2) Most people train controlled on the whip now, or at least most of the people know. 1): The bonuses do stack on it, and also with void. 2) Some people do train with controlled, but certain people, who want to keep certain stats at a certain level do not, and therefore will need another weapon to train strength. ~Dan
  3. Although the decrease in attack and defense is there, I still hit almost as often as I do with whip, and the same max hit with obby sword. It makes it an extremely good strength training weapon, especially when defense doesn't matter (because of prayer) ~Dan
  4. I am going to say you probably got the Dagger and the Sword backwards (looking at the bonuses you posted). Dagger = Toktz-xil-ek Sword = Toktz-xil-ak ~Dan
  5. Well, I've decided to try it out at Waterfiends, and it definitely hits better than Torag's Hammers, and Verac's Flail, making it actually a decent weapon, with a low price. It's comparable to the Spear, just that its a bit slower. ~Dan
  6. I gained quite a Bit of lvls today: [hide=71 Prayer, (66,67)68 Summoning, 80 Slayer] [/hide] I love my Bunyip! ~Dan
  7. Another idea for teleing, is bringing along an antifire shield, and running into the KBD lair and instantly teleing out with a 1 click-tele (Although, you may be poisoned). But, thanks for the tip. ~Dan
  8. Went to mages for an attack level: Got this in 48 kills: and then a couple kills later: ~Dan
  9. Finally Reached a new milestone in Combat! Just 18 more levels to go : ~Dan
  10. Gained 11 Summoning Levels Today :D ...just 5 from bunyip now ~Dan
  11. I love it when one of them says: "You're a noob for running/hiding (etc)" My response: "Well then, you just got beat by a noob then" : ~Dan
  12. It actually only does this in FireFox, it seems to switch to the most recently active area of the screen (Aka the Ad) and marks that as the target area for your typing or clicks...which is very annoying. You could always try to use another browser to use it, although I still prefer Firefox overall. ~Dan
  13. Kill_Thomas, I have played World of Warcraft, and it isn't top of the line graphics either, thats all I'm saying. Comparing it to some games like Crysis, it's almost not good. (Of course my computer isn't good enough to run Crysis :( ) ~Dan
  14. At the above post (Above the RS vs WoW) Graphics, I would greatly differ on that, WoW i will agree is a bit better than RS, but still not that good. WoW: B+ RS: B Gameplay, similarly Wow isn't that great either IMO. However, what RS definitely beats WoW in is the quests. RS: A+ WoW: C- All the WoW quests i've done are: "Collect X items" or "Kill X Monsters" providing very little substance. While RS quests definitely give more substance. ~Dan
  15. I agree with your statement! I've seen so many people in FTP using Druidic Robes #-o ... I don't understand why Jagex decided that Druidic Robes should be more expensive? Is the bind spell improved a lot when using it? I think both of them started at the same price. Players decided that Combat robes are worth less than Druidic robes. The occasional rune that the Combat Robe replaces is not that much, unless you really are lacking money. However, Druidic robes are used in Clan Wars to help with binding, as well as in Bounty Hunter and Fist of Guthix. ~Dan
  16. Can you care to explain "the legit and old fashioned inefficient way" to train firemaking? Same thing with fletching. (Making bows is actually the slower method to 99 [Making arrows is faster]) ~Dan
  17. Its green, but same thing =p. On Lil Dan Def (Level 18), starting from scratch, I have over 13m worth on him now in less than 8 months of play. Combat level really dictates very little on f2p in-terms of how much money you have, non-cb skills play a lot greater part in it. Mostly because the popular good dropper on f2p are Cockroaches, and Lesser Demons, both of which...still earn very little. However, in comparison to a skiller, in combination with merchanting can easily earn a lot more. ~Dan
  18. Depends what it is. I'll calculate some things, such as summoning (The exact amount I need for a level), while other things, such as cooking, or smithing...i'll just buy a random amount of ores or fish and start using them up. ~Dan
  19. The only problem with full screen though, is that it would automatically close the second another window becomes active, regardless of whether or not it is windowed. However, if that problem can somehow be eliminated...you could set up 2 monitors and us it that way. ~Dan
  20. The reason for the difference in number of tokens DVD gets vs what Zaaps get, is due to the difference in total levels. I have 1841 total, and on average, with around 2k+ charges, I get around 18-24 tokens each game. This makes it extremely easy for me to earn tokens. However, if I use my level 62 pure, which still has under 500 total, I can barely earn 7-8 tokens a game, even with a lot of charges. But OT: I support these ideas! ~Dan
  21. Likes: -Upgraded lighting, especially in caves (Love the darkened mood) -Facial looks in chat boxes -New Teleports -and a lot a lot of other things, too many to list. Dislikes: -Wave Emote (Makes me go wtf, looks like a drunk person waving) -Fire Cape look -Running Animation Random Funny thoughts: Some of the emotes make you look really stupid right now XD Same with some of the facial expressions when you're talking, such as when you get Prison Pete and the initial :o look on your face makes me laugh very hard. Duradel also looks like he's either high or drunk...too happy looking imo (But makes me laugh at the same time). ~Dan
  22. The general idea of the quest is ok...for a beginner. However, I don't agree that there should be a bounty hunting skill. Unless NPCs are able to wander all around RuneScape like Revanents(sp?) do the Wilderness, it would just become like another mini-game such as Gnome Restaurant, where the list of people you would have to find are limited and always in the exact same places. I like the quest, but not the bounty hunting ~Dan
  23. I'm pretty sure this is a small graphics bug, but i saw this on my way to Tears of Guthix: ~Dan
  24. Gained 7 Total Levels in 1 day (Missing 1 pic): [hide=lots of pics] Missing 64 Agility Pic. Also got 117 Combat P2P, and 111 F2P Combat \[/hide] ~Dan
  25. I would never judge anyone by their combat/total level/total xp. Although, I do respect someone that has a high number in any of those. If you're a new player, with a low total and low experience, I could still respect you, as long as you maintain a good attitude (Different from those "begging noobs") Good attitude and maturity makes me respect someone as a person. Levels makes me respect them as a player. ~Dan
