Yeh but what was it in the old days? who had the best stats. You had better stats than about 99% of the rsc population, wouldn't you like to try it when the playing field was even? btw I know ppl had to seriously earn those better stats, and I think it was fair you had a stats advantage because of the amount of effort you had to put in, but since rsc cant return to that, isnt this the next best thing? I think DSM nailed it to be honest.. My problem was not with people being 99's.. I have no problem with fighting people as high as me and it's easy to look back and say i was 120 and always fought lower lvls.. But i wasn't always 99hp and i would always fight higher levels when i was lower (not to mention i've always been majorly impure!) As DSM said, the problem is with creating supplies etc.. If there's nothing to lose people pk differently, every fight becomes a deathmatch, i mean honestly.. Why try and run when u can make the armor? Wy not just stick around, hope for a 3hit and then if it doesn't work just make a new set - It will make catching redundant because no1 need run. Oh and if i'm entirely honest my favourite time of pking was at 112 combat (92 85 99) i was low enough that people would stay and fight but still high enough to take on anyone else.. I wish i'da stayed at that level, once you're 120 anyone below 110 will not fight you unfortunately, so it's a case of trying to surprise them and either catch dead or 3 hit. Anyway, on that private server anyone who tries can be 99's - I'ma happily attack them and armor etc is worth alot more on that game lol :P

In that logic apparently i'm playing on a few private servers too lol (which i can guarantee i am not) well that is silly then considering I gave you full rune and stuff on projectp2p, and gave you mad runes. Nice to know that wasn't you, he has everyone fooled and posted pictures on the site of your kills and everyone envys you lol, thats funny. Haha... That is pretty funny actually! yeah the bad thing about prayer beasts was that they went through food uber fast lol That's one of the reasons i never made a PB, not that i couldn't afford the food lol :lol: Just that i never banked on adx after one fight (whether that put me 10+ food down or not) and i couldn't get into that mentality as a noob either lol.. I couldn't bare to have one little ''scrap'' and then have to bank.. you'd spend half your time banking and getting prayer lol..

I've never agreed with Prayer Beasts lol.. Even when i made a 1 def pure it was 40 1 55 with 45 mage lol.. That was a FUN character.. People didn't know what hit them - I could shoot 6's, hit like 16's i think and had a good ranger with me hittin 8+'s lol.. Not to mention, if u teleport from battle someone else can attack into battle pretty fast lol! neither do i they ruined low level pking hehe. but u gotta admit that the idea was fricking genious :lol: In the same vein as the atomic bomb... genius but devastating I always thought the most simple thing was to make the protect item prayer work when you had no skull.. I mean it's essentially a defensive 'move' isn't it? Hardly considered to be defensive with a skull. And on the other hand.. There was something strangely satisfying about killing a prayer beast in general and even more so when for whatever reason they could not protect. Shr3k was always seen to be ''weak'' and a ranger mainly, but when people attacked me that 45 defence really screwed them up lol (shr3k was 52 45 88 77 with 88 range no prayer when i pked on him mostly, think it was 65cb) and for that build i was called a defence pure lol.. Despite no-one actually knowing what my defence was lol. I always remember watching Blick pk and she as we all know was a ranger.. But when she was attacked she put on a kite and continued to run.. Any good catcher would continue to catch to stop being attacked, if she ran and attacked a friend that put her out of the equation for 3 rounds.. So i thought i'd make a ranger that could pack a punch aswell :) out of the pan and into the fire.. Shr3k was my most fun pker without a doubt, everyone wanted to fight me cause i was wearing rune but they also wanted me to team with them cause i had high range.. It was great fun.

I'd get 40 defence and not bother with prayer.. That's just me though and i was always far too lazy to make that walk to Monks to recharge prayer - Plus everyone's happy to fight you when you're wearing full rune (and you can always hit your max, no prayer to run out mid-fight)

Rs used to run soo smooth for me in Windows ME - I was gutted when my dad changed it over to XP! Now i don't play RS, i have my own computer and i absolutely despise Windows Vista.. I think i just don't like change! (though vista is poor)

I was thinking you knew quite a bit ;) Meili too. Problem is for me, outside of wanderers and BDk, i'm not really qualified to write about another clan from classic I was never really into clans unfortunately (until i made MI lol) but even MI doesn't qualify as a 'clan' really.. It was more of a pkers gathering and largely an excuse for a war rofl! Clan politics always deterred me, i always understood you shouldn't really be killing someone from your own clan but i wouldn't of been able to abide by that! I sometime couldn't manage it with my own friends list haha. When you manage to get it up and running post a link, i'm sure it'll be an interesting read - I love the nostalgia of Runescape lol.

Although i'm loathed to admit it yours may well be the better idea; The cheat code idea is ridiculas however your idea in coming back from RS2 to RSC is in fact the best idea all round - It basically negates all the people who've been autoing on RSC for years (and really screws those that have played honestly) but it is essentially a reset - When everyone was transferred to RS2 their stats were (for the most part) legit. If it was me i'd delete everyone on RSC and allow them to migrate their character (and bank) from RS2 - Basically a carbon copy, ur RS2 life goes on but you have the chance to play an RSC life aswell or instead (personally think this should have been done originally rather than splitting the bank one way or the other) This way there'd be plenty of RS2'ers with Rune to lose :)

I was there for hours and i didn't make it into the Vid DSM :D Although to be fair i don't think i made it far past level 20 without being attacked or attacking someone lol That was the best war i ever went to lol :P Mainly because people that wouldn't normally fight me DID! and after the first half an hour everyone seemed to stop weakening me lol? First assault on the Altar at the very begining and every one of my stats were reduced in one large barrage haha I watched it earlier and I actually found myself. I was in it at 1:17 I think. 115 combat lol. I thought I was 116 or 117 then. I have no clue when it started but I was there the whole time from the beginning and then went pking after wards. I remember all the castle and bandit fighting by rsd but it was still fun. I remember at about 4-5am my time i finally thought enough was enough... The Sue appeared to take over rofl :twisted:

But given the possibility, and the fact that other people would play with cheats, it'd pretty much make your accomplishments worthless. At least for me it'd be no fun if there were cheats available. @adx: there might be an opening for more support and a more serious take on RSC by Jagex if RSC proves to be very popular. Then it might just be worth it to assign an extra team of employees to RSC (for Jagex). But I can't see it happening, since RSC died out, and the reintroduction will probably be accompanied with cheats. I just can't see it starting up again. But who knows how this idea might evolve. ^^ I think the bolded part has been proven already. I agree, i don't think they'll re-open it, i don't even think i'd like them to because in my experience every update they ever made (toward pking) was a negative one.. I wouldn't want to chance them continuing that trend. The ''cheat code'' idea is an insult really.. If that was what they intended they could do it as a mini-game in RS2 (one wonders why they haven't already done so) i just don't see the point.. If you can magic stats (and supplies?) what restrictions on there on doing so? if i'm 99 accross the board and about to die to another 123 can i lower my stats so they can't attack me any longer? Sure they can do the same but what if i put my stats to 1 99 1 - if they drop their stats to equal my combat level they won't be able to wield a dragon weapon lol? I presume you could not interfere with supplies/stats in the wilderness but this would probably just promote boarder fighting - i think the whole thing would be a joke and would rob every none pker of all their umph (couldn't think of a better word) why bother training that stat when u can just change it? It just seems to me to be a bit lacking in imagination and they're essentially admitting defeat to the autoers if this does come about. Let's hope they do assign someone to RSC who has either worked on it in the past or played it maybe..

Everyone has that one person that seems to get them good.. Mine was Kingpin, there was something about that guy that just no matter what he spanked me.. I cannot explain it - He was 106 and i was like 116.. I even fought him once with full plate, super weakens and earth waves and he still almost had me, i think i managed to make him log with like 1 shark left - FROM FULL! It's not like i let him re-pot or anything lol.. Couldn't explain it other than to say he cheated which obviously just sounds like sour grapes.. He always hit me mad good lol. The best 3 hitter - Was no doubt Zorro though not in the conventional sense... if you were battering Zorro you'd have to worry because you'd be full food, cruising to the kill and he'd be half hp no food and then he'd just 3 hit ya.. I can't even explain the amount of times Me n Sue ran to ''save'' Zorro and him just go ''it's okay, got him'' just before we got there. My best stats for 3 hitting were at 116 combate 99-90-99 on p2p with a ruby ammy (superstition?) i couldn't wear anyone down or hit them repeatedly but i knew if i kept catching i'd 3 hit them eventually, it was great lol. My best time pking without doubt was 112 combat though - 92-85-99 f2p pking with ruby ammy again lol - I just hit all the time no matter who i was fighting.. Made the stupid mistake of training and had to keep going cause no other combination worked for me on f2p :(

Yeah i'm not too sure with Arkan, i didn't really know him too well before he had mage, i remember when i was really training hard (click training in pirates.. wow) think i was about 112 combat so less than 85hp haha! I went onto server 8 and Arkan was in ther bout 95+cb (still pure) and i just thought ''sod ya, you might be pure but i'ma have a try'' i battered him everywhere and ended up killing him then a couple of days later he came back and he was like 115+ and did the same to me (though i don't think he killed me) funny what a difference magic makes :) I was friends with him not long after that simply because we were fighting the same person (which i think was Kingpin and chums) ''the enemy of my enemy is my friend'' - lol! He always seemed pretty kewl to me, i think he was well liked with most pkers simply because he kept himself to himself, he didn't gloat when he killed someone or bch when they killed him - Like my complete opposite haha :lol: I always remember running into Earl, Justin, Piggy & someone else (cant think of his name) at Hobs for my earlier pking days (or at least member pking days)... God they were annoying...

I openly admitted earlier that i did not think that this ''cheat code'' idea was a good one, i'm a die hard RSC fan and i wouldn't bother looking at it if you could magic up your stats and supplies - What a waste of time that would be.. The game would become more 2 dimensional than ever.. It would simply be a case of biggest team wins.. Boring. I like that you brought up Jagex's buisness sense earlier, i agree with you here too yes! It would seem logical in what they did and i'm sure as i said earlier their bank balance vindicates their decision.. But let's put it into terms that everyone can understand; If Jagex were Coca Cola.. They basically stopped selling Coke because Cherry Coke became more popular? That would be a ridiculas decision (yes, much larger scale i know) but Jagex essentially cut off their nose to spite their face - Why not continue running RSC? Where there not still paying customers? It's a bizarre business move if you ask me.. If Rsc had two active servers, fully supported (2400 people at any one time) it would be reasonable to see an active community of 3k people (in total, which could be witnessed as 1500 people playing constantly throughout the timezones) This equates to £15,000 per month in P2P fee's and i'm not even going to go into the fact that alot of people have second characters they're willing to pay for also. £15,000 per month.... How much ''care'' is needed to keep the servers running - How many staff would they need and how much would they pay them? Think about it logically and i think the figures do the talking themselves - It would quite easily be self sustaining - Yes maybe my numbers are made up and possibly even ambitious but don't underestimate the appeal to RSC - I don't think there would be any problem whatsoever having that many people play. At the end of the day Jagex will do whatever they want, they always have - They're suprisingly arrogant when you think about the additions they made and the refusal to change them when they had negative effects (mage wall & god spells being my personal favourites) If they re-opened RSC and offered support, people would return, i don't think there's any doubt about that - The only thing that eventually drove people away was a lack of support and an increase of autoers who ironically are probably the people that want it back the most but were (are?) too immature to realise it was their actions contributing to the downfall in the beginning.

He was round about 80-85 but had about 85+ magic, he was pretty much the exact same stats as me but richer lol, so my fire bolts against his fire waves lmao - He used to pk with Zar when he was still a pure lol.. Just upped and quit at about 85-90 - I remember that guy used to make pking a nightmare for me in the early days lol - he came back temporarily when i was 116+ though and i 2 hit him, one of my favourite pk's lol! Always means more when it's someone that used to have the upper hand on you!

I agree with that, i don't think that the masses will ever return to RSC My arguement has always been that people were coerced into RS2 however! Had it been such a superior game why did Jagex feel the need to try and force people out of RSC? - Their original plan was that you could freely switch from RS2 to RSC with one bank, they suddenly went back on this? What was their reasoning? ''items in rs2 wouldn't have graphics in rsc'' because that is such a major job? Considering the 'prehistoric' rsc graphics? It would have been similar to a members item on P2P - Not useable. - No highscores for RSC'er when they did decide to split the game, why not? They changed the highscore system for RS2 anyway, it's not like the member money they would have got from RSC wouldn't have covered highscores at the VERY least. - One way bank trip and no going back, again this was a way to make people decide in an instant what they would prefer after BETA - Why not a months grace whereby you can decide which game your future lies. - The threat of no support, no updates and basic abandonment of RSC, how was this justifiable before they saw what numbers were going to migrate? Had a majority remained on RSC would they still have drawn a line under it and stopped updating it when RS2 failed miserably - I sincerely doubt it. All of these factors culminated into what was essentially an ultimatum ''Move to RS2 or else'' do you not agree that they were very strong handed tactics considering RS2's apparent superiority? Had it been this gleaming game it was supposed to jagex would have relied on people changing to it by merit rather than by threat. When you look at who remained on RSC it was pkers, let's be honest they account for at least 90% of those who remained, but i know from alot of my friends that weren't pkers they would have stayed RSC if they had highscores (what else does a skiller play for?) I put my bank on RS2 in a drunken stuper but remained RSC, jagex would not allow me to have my bank back (which ended up for the best £££ - say no more) but i don't regret staying with RSC because for me, i played to pk and nothing else - RSC had a UNIQUE pking system - RS2 does not, it's poor and when given the opportunity of playing that or other such games which far better graphics (WOW 1 example - though i've never played) i would of happily moved to them. I think as you say it's a matter of opinion, but your opinion is based on you talking about the majority - Am i not correct in thinking that the majority have never even played RSC? Don't forget that RSC still has a pking sytem, still has a shackless trade system - My opinion is that RSC is a far superior game in terms of pking (and in whole for me personally) i can see that for a skiller RS2 is the better game but that's not for me - When i look at RSC the saying ''less is more'' has never been more true. I hope RSC is not re-opened, i don't think Jagex will allow it either, i think they feel threatened by their own game (go figure) what other reasons for removing it from the front page, having to persuade people RS2 is better? It should do that itself on merit. Bottom line is they could have ran two paralell games, giving support to both - They're both aimed at different segments, had they offered support to RSC more would have remained, paid for p2p and more than justified any furter updates - I think it's a shame but as they say hindsight is 20/20 and i feel Jagex missed a trick (though i imagine their bank balance disagrees with me :lol: )

Haha yeah, i used to be on a dialup 56k modem! :) When i first started pkaing 50's-70's but if i'm totally honest i think that was the best thing for me because it taught me to chase perfectly and follow the person so that if they did stop/freeze or make a mistake i could catch a one square.. Then i got DSL and i was able to catch most of the time because i was good at following diags etc. Yeah i know alot of people got better after RS2 but i've always attributed that to a few things; - Severs less populated and moved smoother - Obvious autoing - People (for the first few months) were always out pking, in the same places, you can get alot of practice in at once lol :) When RS2 first came out for the first few months on RSC it was like all the pkers were trying to prove a point and were pking round the clock, i was pking with Arkan at the time and i was literally getting over 30 kills a day (alot of credit to Arkan cause he was great at covering and had 99 range lol) but the fact they were all out over n over again was great... Then it eventually topped off and RSC began its slow death. The one thing i've never been able to figure out is when the NW/SE diags stopped working lol... I swear it changed over night because i 'used' to be able to 2 square them and then all of a sudden i couldn't, i remember going to altar wars at like lvl 106 and SE was the natural way for everyone to run away and i never had any trouble catching it and then like i said one day it just stopped! :wall:
