I've just read it again! I can't believe I wrote this 6 and a half years ago... I was tempted to write a new version and update as the feeling of nostalgia never leaves me when it comes to Runescape... Sadly, I don't have the patience to type as I once did.... My past self would be ashamed of me lol!

Falling and hitting the tree? You mean "you fail to hit the tree" right? If that is the case, get a higher WC level, thats the only tip there is. Perhaps a better quality hatchet too?

I know some people had that program 'speed_set' that fiddled the 'fid' variable in-game and made your frame rate go really slow - made catching somewhat easier, if not a little weird, and 2 sq'ing NW/SE was possible. Perhaps it was simply that then... I still wouldn't judge him for this, if i had known about it i probably would have used it myself - I don't see why a flaw in the game should have stopped us being able to catch those directions in the first place, if someone (3rd party) was able to fix this... Why could Jagex not?

The Arkan that i knew/know didn't auto, i have him on Msn though and believe he joined an armed force (not sure which one) and gave his character to a rl friend/sibling or something like that People that say ''he must auto he caught me every way'' think about it logically... You run into the guy a handful of times and he catches perfectly IT CAN HAPPEN but he certainly didn't kill everyone he came accross and nor did i, i pked with Arkan plenty and saw him miss alot of catches (as did i) but he was an intelligent pker so if i was catching he was stood in the right place to pick up the slack and vice versa so even when we missed a catch the other could pick up and we could re-position. We used to 'play catch' when there was no-one out to kill and he'd miss then too (even when it's fists and there's no eating) Arkan had a great connection and i believe a different Java as he could 2 square a NW/SE catch whereas something would always prevent me doing this, it was never bad positioning or timing the game itself would just not allow me to catch a straight on those axis - i had to either run paralell, one square them (Also hard with my connection) or follow their line until they went straight for a square and get them then. If Arkans character did begin to auto, it was long after the real owner passed it on and shouldn't affect any reputation he previously earned.

I don't think Jagex will ever class their actions to end RSC as a mistake, or at least the 'company' will not class it as a mistake and i agree with that.. From their perspective moving everyone to Rs2 made the most sense in terms of their overall revenue and i believe that this has made them alot of money since. What i think Jagex did not anticipate was Nostalgia, Emotion, Gameplay.. Look at most new Hollywood films & games.. Graphics first content/gameplay second.. This makes little to no sense to me as i remember some of the most enjoyable games of my life being on a Nes/Snes/Master System.. Not an Xbox/Ps3 etc (not to say there aren't some great games on them) but back then developers HAD to make the game about gameplay as they didn't have immense graphics at their disposal and essentially nothing to hide behind.. This was RSC - [cabbage]! But great at the same time.. The community that was created in RSC was something quite special when i try to put it into the context of other online games i've played.. Yes we all though other people were [wagon] etc myself included here i know alot disliked me lol :P but such is life.. I'm not trying to say that RS2 is full of idiots, i'm sure that there are some great people playing that game also but i don't think the same community was ever re-created, people were playing the game for a different reason and have different agendas then they did in RSC. It was this split of people that i think fractured RS - Jagex had to enforce the change to RS2 but some of us had no interest in the game whatsoever (mainly pkers i imagine) and from my eyes the decline began their, it started to emulate modern day society which is essentially a breakdown in communication. RS2 and RSC should have been ran in conjunction.. So you could log on to either and keep the same items - I understand the problems involved with that but to lose such a good game so quickly was quite tragic.. Now i think they've realised that RSC still has market value.. They don't see it as a mistake only another opportunity to make more money. Sorry if this is massively disjointed - I'm not at my house and my dad's about to switch his internet off lol - I might come back on later to amend.

I honestly don't even miss it anymore! :o I played on Private servers for a little bit and always thought ''God i miss real RSC'' Then when i tried real rsc again i remembered what a pain in the arse it all was & they STILL hadn't fixed the mage wall lol, unfortunately we can't go back in time because i don't think it will ever re-gain it's greatness

Lol... Why? Rs2 is just the poor mans World Of Warcraft If you continue to play and intend to PK you will need AT LEAST 45 magic for Fire bolts but you'll have to put alot of time in to actually be competetive.

UNCER was just some [rooster] that stuck around after RSC died and autoed to max level. I tried RSC again for about an hour when they relaunched and killed him with the items i logged in with from my last play (years ago - had two sets on me rofl) I've not bothered to log in again since so i got three sets on me somewhere lol :P And to previous posts.. Yes pking will be piss poor now because every castle pker has been pking at high lvl on private servers and act like they did in varrock level one.. MUST THREE HIT OR NO IRON!? This is why they tend to run around in teams of 6-10 with god staffs.. RSC pking.. For me has finally come to end and... Probably ;)

I had my second permanent Mute appeal granted after an hour of making it (for the 10th time lol, it was like a Runescape anniversary, i'd try to appeal it every six months or so)

I'm back.. Kinda :) 2 Kills within 10 minutes of logging on.. It's refreshing to see people in the wilderness. Tragically playing RSC (briefly) has made me realise how inept Jagex were when it came to pking, the private servers i've played recently are far superior when it comes to pking - I hope that the mage wall is removed immediately. I've spoken with Sue, he said he might see if he can get his character back as neither of us can remember the password lol :P but you probably won't see us around too much unless anyone wants to donate food/pots/runes :) far too lazy to collect that stuff again nowadays. Someone said earlier about the economy being [bleep]ed because of the Vets.. I think for the first time i'm actually quite happy these people stayed and autoed tonnes of stuff.. It will be able to push RSC along alot quicker.. Rather than nobody being able to pk properly.

Autoed without a doubt lol and not just for the obvious.. But that thieving exp on paladins (or even ogres getting bloods) with that defence? Doubtful anyone would put up with that, a bot however would smile and continue. I 'improved' upon my pure in a similar fashion but he was a bit better with 99 attack and range, unfortunately he's lost to inactivity. I did laugh at the days last logged in, 3 & a half years ago.. I really lose track of when i used to play rsc lol, i didn't think it was that long ago! My memory still seems fresh.

You and Low add me (adx1, ad ex one or adx jr) I've decided i don't like any new people.. Only RSC'ers.. They have no pking etiquette or anything lol. Some 122 3 hit a friend in game so i attacked him on jr (106) and wouldn't let him get away.. Wrecked all his food.. friend came back and shot once with mage n stole kill - Didn't share! If ida realised that i'da attacked him too... That's just not the way RSC was lol. Anyway.. It's like Me, Zorro, Kryptix n DSM atm - more the merrier though lol :P happy to team against the newschool newbs. Thats not even to mention the fact there's no tactics in their pking because they're all after the kill lol (maybe none of them share?) when we pk we've got ppl covering different directions.. They all stand south n wait for red bar to mage lol.. it's hilarious

Nah, i think the penny finally dropped with them - They cannot close down all of the private servers trading off their good name - Only way to put them out of business is to put themselves back in business. If it were down to me they would simply re-set RSC to the stats people were when RS2 was released (Sorry arc i know that screws you over) but the majority of the people that levelled after RS2 did so with an auto. I don't know whether or not they even have the data any longer - What they cannot do is restart everyone from lvl 3 again lol.. I just wouldn't bother.

im pretty sure bs arkan was never legit anyways... and he did auto a good amount of his levels as well as auto caught... He didn't AC anytime after he had mage - Of that i assure you.

There's a major difference to when i teamed people and when Swifty teamed people though.. I generally left the bank ALONE and met another pker in wildy, i never called for help against one person.. Only evened the odds when people teamed me.. Oh and i didn't run from any team unless i was no food. My point was simply that, when i think of you, you logged and would rarely fight me.. I don't think of you as a good pker for that reason - because the negative thoughts come first. I pked off London servers when it was necessary lol.. If there was no-one to kill on my servers then i'd change.. But if there were people to fight then why would i lol? Don't blame me because London servers were more popular for pking lol. I think you forget one thing Meet.. I NEVER ONCE logged from a fight, when you're saying i had someone coming to a fight lol.. That was probably because i was running you towards them.. If the person wasn't gunna catch me dead, i'd happily run them into a friend lol instead of making a B-line to the bank.. The outcome was generally that they died.. I disagree. I think it's all about perception, your perception is that i was a good pker (thankyou) but you immediately choose to say all 99's and that's your perception, that i was a good pker with 99hp... Was the majority of my pking done before or after 99hp? i'd go as far as to say about 85% of my total pking was done prior to 99hp.. I didn't suddenly appear at 120 combat and start pking (hello Maniac 666!! :)) I started pking and getting noticed basically when my internet connection changed form 28k or 56k can't remember what [cabbage]e i had lol.. to DSL which was around about 95-100 combat bearing in mind i pked with Vid since early lvl 70's, the only thing that separated us was that i had the patience to post kill topics whilst afking and David (Vid) was too lazy lol. I agree, stats play a major part of pking.. But was i remembered for killing randomnoob101 or other people my level, that's rhetorical, it doesn't really need an answer - what got me most attention was killing either ALOT of people or high profile pkers. You say that no-one remembers Zorro and Vid, i don't think that's the case, every kill topic i come accross someone has mentioned them - the difference is they were more low-key & credit to them because people used to fight Vid and just not know what had hit them lol.. he was an unknown quantity which worked perfectly for him, nobody knew him so wouldn't run until no food.. Vid would catch dead.. Zorro was even funnier though i think his reputation was more than Vids, if you were battering Zorro you'd need to watch out - Cause he'd 3 hit you lol. The difference with these pkers is that they didn't taint their memory by autoing, weakening and just generally being idiots, Luke you WERE a good pker, you could catch and unlike most 80ish hpers you knew the value of mage, u turned into an arsehole though and started autoing, weakening, logging, x'ing and generally running your mouth.. I can still remember yours and Darks attempts at stopping me getting 99 Hp when i was training in Pirates.. I vaguely remember killing you both on one occasion aswell. If you had conducted yourself in the same way Zorro and Vid did, you'd probably be mentioned in the same breath as them but unfortunately you didn't - that's your choice, i'm sure you're over it lol :) but it's what i say, it's all about perception.. I'll show a few examples: Earlcar - Couldn't fight alone, needed Justin and Piggy. Eugene Ru - Couldn't resist the log-out button at any cost. Swifty Mcvay - Sir Logalot, wouldn't fight people his lvl without team. Meetyourpker - Same story, wouldn't fight ppl his level and logged. Kryptix - Autoer, Weakener, logged, X'er and above all else...... Pked with Darkevil3k That's my perception of them when i hear the name but think about it like this aswell: Earlcar - Hit mad good, i saw him get alot of 3 hits when it mattered. Eugene Ru - Good catcher, when he wasn't logging he could diag every way. Swifty Mcvay - Decent pker, especially in a team, understood where to stand. Meetyourpker - Good catcher and pker when he was lower, got teamed alot as high lvl. Kryptix - Great catcher & clever pker, knew when to intervene to stop someone escaping. It shows how easy a memory can be tainted by a negative action. I think if i'd have remained lvl 106 (85 80 96 89 - 90 mage 60 prayer - I THINK) or thereabouts.. I'd have still been voted as a good pker, i ALWAYS used mage and that made ALOT of difference, i'd always fight higher levels and i'd always chance the kill :P Yeah i have no doubt i'd have died more if i'd stayed a lvl 106 but i don't think stats make the pker, come play a private server - u see 99 hp don't make them good pkers lol :P and they've got loadsa bloods etc - lemme know if ya do i'll start ya off lol :D

I agree. The difference between the private server community is that the majority of them were young kids/early teens who started when rs1 was dying already and still haven't grown up compared to the young'ins who started back in 01/02 etc. who are now basically adults. I never thought at 20 I'd still even be uttering the word 'runescape'. :lol: The main difference i've noticed is that all the varrock pkers are now lvl 123.. But they're still in the mentality of a Varrock pker who thinks that they MUST 3 hit everyone.. Thus they pk in teams of 6 (99hper's) with range, mage and weakens... Unfortunately, they don't know how high level pking was, so it's just not the same - I'm actually starting to believe that RSC cannot be revived! Pking was learnt by each generation and habits were passed on that way... RSC died and no-one was there to teach this way of life to them - Thus they created higher level border fighters.. Funniest thing is though.. I attack someone and then their friends immediately log in and all i get is ''haha not so good now are you'' well no.. 6 on 1 is a lil much even for me :) Not that it stops me from trying haha! :D Oh and i get called a newb for using a Dragon axe instead of a Dragon long... Go figure rofl? I don't know if they changed stats and i'm the naive one or they [bleep]ed the game up by making the sword superior to the axe lol.. Think back.. How many people wore a swore in wildy (if they cud wear axe)? I can't think of many, if any.

You know what the truly sad thing is... There's still autoers on these private servers, but they have active staff - They are open to pm's and basically have an entire world of scouts (the players) and they ''blow the whistle'' as such.. This results in the autoers being banned and everyone being happy.. The big question is.. How did Jagex the Company making money from us not manage this? Private servers ask the players what they want changing and although i understand it was Jagex's game to do with as they pleased, they didn't really consult us on changes and rather just barraged us with quests.. it truly is a sad indictment that a few individuals can run the game more effectively (if on a smaller scale) than Jagex ever managed to. Jagex always said that they needed sophisticated technology to detect autoers... Fair enough, but the most basic things just so happen to be the most effective - People power. If Jagex ever do bring back rsc i believe that the original problems will remain. From a business point of view you're correct, there's still money to be made and bringing rsc back would probably stop the private servers, rather than Jagex attempting to Sue them all instead lol...
