  1. Nicely written... hey... i'm a miner trying to make ends meet too. So, umm, any chance of you coming over to get those hobgoblins off my back?
  2. turtlefemm, your heartbreak is felt by many. although true that there are still many ways of helping and giving, the joy of random-giving is pretty much gone. but hey, the good-hearted ones in the RS community will find other ways to fill that void... even in the "fair, communistic-style" world of RS. Give on!
  3. here's the only praiseworthy thing about the three letters -- they can spell. oh, and also a fine display of (ironically) robotic thinking.
  4. has been quite some time since a nice article like this came along. reminds me of the previous editor (not to say that the current editor is not as good though lol).
  5. well... although i can understand the tough stand on pro-actively fighting RWT, i am saddened by the abolishing of free trade. Yeah, 3k limit. That means... 1. i can't give out stuff to my friends anymore (3k limit). 2. i can't take an inventory full of lobbs and give it to my friend on the rare occasion when i go pk-ing. Oh, sorry... i can't pk like before anymore. Wildy is way different now. Oh, and i can't drop lobbs at my friend's feet when we pk now. I can, but it won't do him any good. 3. i can't go like... "hey, hold my 100k gp." for whatever reasons. I'm no cheater or scammer... but now i can't sell any stuff for a little higher than the market price. Technically, i can actually... so long as the price difference is less than 3k. If a guy is desperate for, say, a rune scimmy and willing to pay 30k for it... well, no one can sell it to him. Gotta go to the GE. And the GE... well, i do like it... but it's kind 'disturbing' that i'm buying things from faceless players. And selling things to faceless players too. I do like it a bit more personal... even if it takes me ages calling out at the banks. At least strangers still have a face (lol). To sum it up... i'm gonna miss the freedom of trade... and the freedom to do what i want with my gp or stuff-in-my-bank (e.g. give it away). Maybe RS is becoming more like what it is... just a game. It was more real before. Darn those RWTs!! (insert a full string of curses!)
  6. i was level 7... one fine day i decided to roam the land and explore. left auto-retaliate on... and took ALL my money with me!! (1k ++) just in case i wanted to buy something :wall: got killed by those darn black knights!! i was running like a headless chicken
  7. nice effort here... runescape username: Whack Whack country: Malaysia
  8. this one thing i learned... and it's annoying as hell. that if you don't pay 5 bucks a month, you don't get to wear anything other than a lousy pair of leather boots!! oh well, you get to wear other footwears too but still they're all lousy!
  9. Same here, man (or woman). I've always wondered who the top f2p player is. Now i know. Thanks tip.it
  10. It does sorta worries me too... although it shouldn't since i don't get any $$ from jagex for worrying. Anywho... i wonder if, say in 2 years time, the ever expanding quests and content will one day put off new players before they even get a chance to be hooked to the game. By then, the game might just look too huge and unmanageable to the newbs. Then again, it's not my problem. I shouldn't be losing any sleep over this.
  11. i am special... so much so that i have to politely refuse special treatment O:)
  12. As a 'Scaper, and as far as fairness/equality is concerned, i think that's a good idea. Along with a symbol on their in-game character... like the scarlet letter A for adulterers. But on Jagex's end, surely they have to think beyond that. RWIT and sweatshop operators will still profit from Jagex's intellectual property. Unless players buy from licensed operators. And when there's a market, there'll always be blackmarket. But well, that's Jagex's problem.
  13. It was a strong article, especially the part about those who doesn't abide by the rules. The article looks disjointed maybe because the editor has his mind on other things... also taking hint from the recent "once a month tip.it times" poll. The cheating and RWIT (or generally those breaking the big rules) vs those who play it the 'right' way is really a 'good vs evil' issue. As much as we would like the baddies to all be punished and put in ScapeRune jail forever and ever, they're here to stay. Like it or not. That's the truth. And that too has to be accepted, just like we have to accept the RuneScape rules. As long as there are good guys, there will be bad guys. And just like the RuneScape rules, if you don't like it, then go play another game. Problem is, you'll face the same issues in other games too. Life's like that. If there's a 'right' way of doing things, someone will try doing it the 'wrong' way. "So what then", you ask. There need to be a balance between 'good and evil'. Just as it is in real world. As long as the editor's yews are not crowded by bots, he'll be quite contented i think. As long as my mining guild is not crowded by bots, i'll be quite ok. As long as the list of high-scorers consists of less than 10% RWITraders, i'm ok with it. Keep the 'evil' under control, and we'll all be able to live happily ever after. Try to change the 'evil' people to see things our way, you say? Let's head down to the temple of Saradomin... tis not a job for mere mortals.
  14. Yes, definitely a good job and seems like Jagex did win this round. But as we all know (and surely Jagex knows too) the war against bots and sweatshop operators has to be an on-going effort. Although the game will never be totally free from bots/etc, it must be controlled... otherwise, it'll negatively impact the social aspect of the game too. We'll have to start making friends with bots instead. The up side is, the bots are good listeners tho... and they never call you a noob. Oh, the bots are killing cows and collecting cowhides too.
