A good article to read, short but sweet and gets right to the point. Also your friend must be crazy! (perphaps post a picture of the guitar?)

Good job on the article

Hear Hear! This is a decent article!

Though I would like to see a Letter to the Editor sometime soon...

Never fear! The letters to the editor will appear at the end of the month.

Hmm... That just doesn't have the same ring as when underdog does it...

Lol!

It was a short and very interesting read. The first paragraph got me in, stopped me feeling like a weird person for playing the game. Kind of rasies some real life issues in that paragraph.

Over all a great and short read - Just how i like 'em!

I've compared RuneScape to a lot of things, but comparing it to Art in this such way, actually does make sense, and really gets down in there to explain why we play for so long, and why. May not answer everything, but it does shed light.

Good Article.

Runescape has far greater scope for fashioning avatars as tools or creating them as art than many other MMORPGs ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ particularly World of Warcraft, wherein your freedom to do as you wish with your character is much more constrained.

The art of "fashioning characters" in games is know as role-playing, hence the RP in MMORPG.

I love the last line.

Ah, this reminds me about the noob on the Runescape forums who was upset with the quest "Cold War" because apparently his grandparents died in the war. :wall:

Great job adamfostas, you really hit the nail on the head... thats the truth behind why we play, plain and simple :) .

"300 programmers make their futile but glorious last stand against 1000000 angry players in The battle of Misthalin. They fight for honor, glory and new content sacrificing themselves so that their game may live on. This is Madness! This Is JAGEEEX!"

Good Article.

yeah you're right about how comparing it to art is right b/c you work on something for a while and when its finallly completed-whew....- But even so runescape is now a game that has no purpose to play(it used to before the update(i don't sell stuff on ebay in case you're wondering  )).

very nice. but i like the ones that take longer than 5 minutes to read. also, the avatar as art was hardly mentioned. they just quickly compared it to WoW. That normally isn't much of a comparison anyways, since everyone knows WoW is a joke. anyways, hopefully next weeks will be longer. Or even better, do like a christmas in Runescape for the times on christmas.

P.S. how come this forum is all about Runescape, yet when i'm typing, it points out that Runescape isn't a word? We all know it is.

Another boring guest article, may I ask where the Editor went? Did he die?

I disagree, this article took a very common topic and answered it effectively.

Everything has a purpose. It may not be a "saving the world" purpose, but there is a purpose behind it none the less.

Such as feeding your mother. It may not seem to have much purpose, as she can get her own food and will get hungry again anyways.

The purpose of Runescape is to have fun and enjoy escaping the constraints and responsibilities of real life.
