Spent tonight playing squad deathmatch with randoms, with the intent of unlocking the L85A2 (which I did, love it already). Hated deathmatch at first but once you get a squad that actually works together it's amazing. Played 9, won 6. The 3 losses were my initial 3 games where the squad I got put in was either getting humped already or there wasn't a full squad. The squad spawn system really shines in SDM.

Or just take out your own mortar and aim it at the massive red mortar symbol on the map. Easy kill. Most people never move when they spam mortars.

Most jets have cruising heights of around 8,000-10,000 meters in the air. Does anyone else think the F-35 is not a good fighter for air to air combat in BF3? I feel like it can't make a good banked turn like the F/A-18 or the Su-35E. I don't like it. It goes into hover mode too easily (like when slowing down for a tight turn) which has messed me up before. I think having hover mode (VTOL or whatever it is) activated by a button or stick push instead of automatically would be better as it would mean it wouldn't switch on and screw up your banking turns. Might need to be balanced out though. Not that I fly the F-35 (or any jet, really) very much anymore.

Massive party mood for tomorrow (hogmanay) night. Heading to the pubs with a crowd of pals which is always good for a giggle. Sticking strictly to beer and whisky, I think.

Same here. The only brands I see at my school are Beats, and the generic Apple or Sony earbuds. I love Sennheiser. Mine sound good and look quite nice imo. I rarely see others with them though...Most people I know have the crappy apple in-ears or Beats. There seems to be no middle-ground I guess. Same, got a relatively cheap pair of their headphones for using with my old laptop and a pair of buds for everyday use. Seen a really nice set of Audio-Technica headphones in a shop here that've been tempting me for a while but I don't have the money to sink into them at the minute. I really don't see the appeal of Beats at all.

I had no luck with Skullcandy earphones at all. Had a few pairs, used for several hours daily, and they lasted 2-3 months tops. Prefer Sennheiser at the minute. Had the same ones for going on 11 months now and they're good as new.

YES! It's been like 17 days. Wow, that made me sound like an alcoholic. But, yeah, in December I haven't gotten drunk once because I'm so busy with studying, as are my roommates and other friends here at school. I got high once though - that was a nice break. My gf was up and we blazed after I was finished studying for the night and watched some comedies with my roommates. Yeah same here. The shifts I've been working mean I can't go out to the same extent I used to, which is kinda alright as I'm saving a lot of money. On the other hand, I do miss the general banter and capers nights out bring. Should be out a bit this weekend as thats everyone coming home from Uni for Christmas.

Yeah, we're doing a secret santa (everyone picks someone's name out a hat, and gets a small present for that person. No-one knows who's got who etc ) at work and I got the new girl who's only been with us for like a month. I've only actually worked with her a handful of times so any kind of "personal" gift is out the window. Something generic and pleasing. And a fiver or under.

Used to have kinda long hair, not far off RPG's second pic length wise. Have short hair now, which I prefer. Looks nicer IMO and is easier to look after.

Quite enjoying conquest assault on these new maps. Slightly faster paced than normal conquest, which is nice. Also took out the F-35 (jump jet) with the main gun of the T90. Flukey as hell.

I thought I had an idea what I wanted to do, spent a year at University doing it which made me realise I didn't like it at all. Fast forward nearly two years and I'm working a crap job with no real idea what I want to do with myself. Going travelling next year which is something I've wanted to do for a while. Maybe it'll give me some inspiration on what I'd like to do, broaden the mind a bit. In any case, it's better than staying where I am now.

Game keeps changing which sidearm I use every game. I'll change it to the pistol I want at the main menu, enter a game and it's already back to default M9 or whatever. Happens every game. Really annoying. Is Karkand out now? Not been online in a bit, kinda out of the battlefield loop.

Working a lot coming up to Christmas. Spent Christmas day with the family then head out for hogmanay a week later with friends. Probably my favourite night of the year, always a great party.

Getting quite handy with the scout helicopters now. Damavand peak, captured A by hovering above it followed by a quick flight over the ridge to take out the Russian helicopter and a bunch of their guys hiding behind a jeep. I'm much better at flying the helicopters than I used to be. Not as easy as BC2 and I still occasionally go full dipshit, momentarily forget the controls and plow into a building but it's happening less and less which is always good.

If you've been playing a lot of Skyrim, prepare to throw a few grenades when you want to sprint (LB) until you get used to the controls again. I do it quite a lot, right after a Skyrim session.

Playing a bit tonight, loving the SKS. Had a beast of a game on CQ Metro although we still lost. Ended up it was just my squad capturing flags which we couldn't keep up so the last 5 minutes or so was just repelling a big spawn camping session the enemies had going.

Left foot breaking seems like an alien concept to me. Right for gas/break and left for clutch. Suppose it's different if you don't have to worry about the clutch.

Thats what I do. Had a lady tailgate me and my friend for miles. We got to a fairly quiet, straight stretch of backroad where I thought she'd overtake. Nope. Still right up my arse with all the time and space in the world to overtake. I slowed right down gradually to like 10mph and she still stuck behind me for a bit. Eventually must have cottoned on to what we were doing and went for the overtake.

Been in a couple of bumps, none serious and none when I've been the driver. Had a few funny/scary things happen, most of which happened not long after my friends and I had passed our tests. The best thing was skidding my friends old car about an abandoned car park last winter in the snow. So much fun. Pet peeve at the minute is people who just abandon their cars when parking them. Theres one road in and out of the street I live on and the people that live in the adjoining road park their cars all along either side so it reduces it down to one lane in the middle, which is a nightmare at the best of times but they've been leaving their cars sticking out into the small bit of space thats left in the middle. I barely managed to get through in a small hatchback, if there was a fire or something, theres no chance a fire engine or ambulance would've made it through that gap. It's not just inconsiderate, its damn dangerous.
