  1. I don't swear as much as I used to although it doesn't bother me at all as it seems to be all around about here so much that most of the words have lost any kind of offensiveness they might've had in the past. A small example (with swearing): [hide]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=znYJXIw2UKw "Every c**t is hopefully going to get along with each other"[/hide] That's fairly common, f*****g gets used a lot as well. Casual swearing. Obviously everyone isn't running around swearing every second word but if you're out at a bar or somewhere and you're not used to hearing it, I'd imagine it'd be quite noticable.

    Movember 2011

Decided to let my facial hair go completely for the month (no shave November). A couple of folk from work are doing it as well. Might end up keeping the beard at the end of it as it's coming along nicely.
  3. I didn't find that out until yesterday. <_< Also, how the hell are you supposed to get a kill in a jet? I can never seem to get any targets, and when I do I fail at hitting them. Strafing enemy helicopters with the gun is an alright way of getting points/kills. Start your run quite far back as you close in on them really quickly. Other than that, dogfighting with other jets is the only other way I've managed to get a few kills. I haven't seen them used too effectively against targets on the ground at all but that would change when more people unlock the rocket pod, I suppose.
  4. Joined the theives guild and bought a house. I said I wouldn't hoard stuff like I did in oblivion but the chest and wardrobe in my house is stuffed with crap I can't bring myself to drop or sell lol. Also killed my first random dragon with the help of a couple of giants who then turned on me once the dragon was dealt with. Not done much of the main quest as I'm having a blast just running about finding places and stealing stuff.
  5. Hah my flame atronach has saved my ass a couple of times when I've underestimated a couple of enemies. Has anyone else had Dark Brotherhood assassins come after them? I ran across two, killed them both times. I'm not sure if it's a similar idea to the bandits that try to rob you when you're travelling or if I've done something to encourage this but as far as I know, I've had absolutely nothing to do with the Brotherhood just yet.
  6. Turn the afterburner off when you're turning in a normal banking turn as it increases the size of the jets "turning circle". If you want to make a tight turn in a dogfight or whatever, hold down the left trigger/brakes (on 360) and turn in the direction you want to go. This bleeds all your speed and makes the jet turn faster, but obviously at the expense of forward speed so get on the throttle and afterburner once you're facing the way you want to go. As for boosters, which game modes are they most prevalent in? Had a dude go 101-0 in a conquest game with like 50,000+ score. I dunno if he was boosting or if he was just ridiculously good.
  7. I've really enjoyed it so far. Can see myself sinking a ton of hours into this. Playing as a woodelf and doing some missions for the mage college at the minute.
  8. I keep meaning to go back to the Pecheneg but I love my M249 too much. Also started using the SKS without a scope to level recon. Quite satisfying getting kills with a semi-automatic, especially up close.
  9. This made me so happy. That is why I didn;t use them at all in BC2. ...Didn't they stay when you die in BC2 as well? Pretty sure they did. Sure did. It was enjoyable getting kills long after throwing down some mines. Nothing beats a surprise 500+ points for a LAV mine kill with a few passengers inside. Going to start using Recon and Assault a bit more as I've barely touched them. Been having too much fun blowing shit up as an Engineer.
  10. Suppression is firing around a person which causes their character to go into stress-mode which blurs the crap out of their screen. it's probably happened to you if you've ever escaped being sniped at. You get bonuses for it if someone kills the target you were aiming at, or if you save a team mate by causing your target to stop shooting at your team mate. There's specializations you can unlock to make yourself nearly immune to suppressive fire, and one to make your bullets more "intimidating" so to speak to increase the duration of your targets stress. Ah, thank you sir. That does explain a fair bit as I've had the blurry screen before just put that down to rounds and explosions going off close by. Had a couple of games earlier. Been using the A-91 a lot with suppressor and red dot sight which I've been doing pretty well with. Scattering anti tank mines about as well has bagged me a few destroy vehicle kills. It's good that they don't disappear when you're killed.
  11. How does the suppression thing work exactly? I've had bonuses for it but have no real idea how I got them.
  12. Same, sometimes I'll feel like I've been pretty boring. When people ask what I'm up to and I'm pretty much doing nothing... I guess you just have to try and remember a few good stories. Or make some up. Thats sort of what I feel like at the minute. Done very little but work the past few months and haven't seen some of my friends as much as I'd like due to a number of things (being free when people are busy, busy when people are free etc). Also having no idea what I want to do with myself doesn't help things I suppose, got myself in a bit of a routine (or a rut, maybe?) with work which I'd quite like to break but can't really bring myself to do it yet.
  13. I dunno about xbox but I have a PC joystick that says its PS3 compatible. Too bad I have a 360. I can fly the jets alright, I just can't kill anyone with them. Tried to unlock the flares earlier but gave up as I was getting shot down constantly. Been doing great with the MBTs and Scout Helicopters though.

  15. Thats the one gun I'm looking forward to unlocking as it's been destroying me lately. Unlocked the mortar but I've not had a chance to put it to good use yet.
  16. this is my feelings exactly on both accounts. Metro is awesome, especially when you start on the cafe side of conquest. holding the ticket check area is the most fun of any game type of any map Metro on conquest, flag B. Utter carnage. I love it. Agree completely. Having a squad that works together, healing/throwing ammo and using the squad spawn system wisely makes the match all the better. It's great when your squad manages to take an MCOM or a bunch of conquest flags single handedly by supporting each other. It's that kind of thing for me that sets BF3/BC2 etc apart from other console shooters.
  17. Trailer looks awesome. Good to see planes making an appearance again as well.
  18. People who take their frustrations with a company or a business out on the employees who work in the shop. I'm getting paid a shit wage, I put up with enough rubbish from the company itself. The very last thing we need is a customer mouthing off because she misread a price tag and we can't give her the item for the price she thought it was as it's "false advertising". Explaining to her in a smug tone that her inability to read a bright red price sticker doesn't constitute false advertising was pretty satisfying even if she didn't believe me and wanted to talk to a manager about it. Also, the customer is not always right. Whoever came up with that has never worked in a shop before.
  19. Grand Bazaar (I believe its called, the really tight market place map) is one of my favourites now. Had a few good matches on it last night where I actually had a squad of randoms who helped out with ammo and whatever which has been kind of a rarity in the games I've played.
  20. Yeah, it takes a bit getting used to. I also had a couple of tries with the jet (SU25) earlier which was alright. Haven't unlocked the flares yet so my flights were pretty short lived. Really want to unlock the mortars as well.
  21. Ah alright. And I just realized you can spawn in jets/helicopters if they're empty. Mystery solved.
  22. Anyone having problems getting into the Battlelog? I've got a xbox, if thats any use. Finished the single player campaign and got stuck into the multiplayer properly today. I love it so far. Is there a way (an unlock or something) for players to spawn directly in a jet/helicopter right at the start of a match? I'm pretty sure there was a guy sitting in the jet when the countdown timer for the round to start was ticking down and he sped off the second the round began.
  23. Heading out tomorrow morning to pick BF3 up. Can't wait.

    Today...

A few of my friends are starting to rent a place together at the end of the year and I thought the exact same as you. It'll work out alright for the first few months but once the novelty of living in your own place has worn off, they'll be at each others throats. Thats part of the reason why I decided not to move out with them just yet (I'll also hopefully not be living here come next year anyway). I got put in with 3 random people when I was at Uni though and we shared a kitchen/bathroom/living room in a flat. It worked out great as they were all pretty sound and we made sure it was cool with everyone else before throwing a party or having friends from home round. A little courtesy, especially with people you don't know all that well, goes a long way. Unless they're [wagon], then it doesn't matter what you do, they'll still be [wagon].
  25. It's not that big a deal here. Younger kids will get dressed up and go trick or treating, anyone older uses it as an excuse to get drunk while wearing fancy dress. Don't think I'll be doing anything for it this year.
