i personally prefer the b axe over scimmy, but it depends on what you training on....or pking. Pking i like axe more cause it has a crush for against plate mail (which is what ever rune user uses) while a scimmy lacks that option

swan song is one of the funnest i have done if you havn't done it. thats all i can really think of....

magic dart IS affected by magic bonus...but because the brothers magic level is so low, it doesn't seem to affect it. I have 50 range and i can kill ahrim with only 1 dose of p pot, maybe 2 if i don't get hits and i start him with low prayer. You CAN skip the brothers, but each one you skip lowers your chance of getting a barrows item and gives them a chance of them appearing in the tunnel, which can be better and can be worse, depending on circumstances.

a little bit off topic....but i'm not even going to 85...just to 55 for slayer dart, and thats only if i can stand the next 8 lvls...... I can see why people wouldn't want to get past lvl 85.

i'm not sure, but i think the brother can also be assigned to the chest and will not show up at any door. like i said, i'm not sure, but i have been reading a lot on the barrows lately and i think i remember reading that somewhere. gl anyway

i'm not much of a ranger...but i trained a little bit ranging and meleeing on fire giants when i had them as slayer assignment...they have low def and good health...you might want to try them. there is a safe spot behind the table in center room of waterfall dungeon. Also in the other room there is one if i'm not mistaken.

You have to get the demon on one side of the whole in the middle, then you be on a different side, The demon will get stuck and will just try to mage you, which with protect from mage he can't do nothing.

go to f2p edgeville, pkers usually buy when they are low lvls pkers, or just buy to save some lobbies.

that would be impossible....espcially the attack part, you have to get 30k evp from required quest before you can even do the quest. i had 60~ str and attack, 55 def and 69 magic and 50 prayer and 40 range when i did it. the only big problem i had was demon. I tried to mage, then melee him, neither workd, died twice. Then i ranged him using the safespot with protect from mage and beat him in no time. so in other words, yea u should be able to do it, just try ranging the demon first before you try something else ;).

i can try to get a pic up...if i can remember how to do all of this. i am on my 5th run, and got ahrims staff my last go. edit-after a lot of trouble-and yes, i'm a newby pic maker >< of course i wear the mystic robes when i have protect and use the melee armor when i am in tunnel or without prayer. That is why my armor is switched.

attack and str are not to important the only time i have used melee was against the little rats to get kill count to 10 everything else is good.

right now i'm using air wave. Just done second barrows, got 30 bloods, 150 deaths, and 1400 gold and some bolt racks. that time i used 1.75 of a prayer pot. Got stuck with karil in the tunnels, try to go without prayer, but he dropped my food fast, so i drank 2 then killed him with no problem. also, air wave still hits pretty good even with a -1 magic bonus (my bonus w/ warrior armor on.) when i run out of bloods, i will go to using fire blasts, then waves, etc. still no barrows equip.....time to go again :)

just done my first barrow. I started doing verac, then went to dharok to recognize that he is my tunnel. So i went to karil, which was no problem. Next i went to ahrim, which was my biggest worry. I threw on prayer, killed him before i had to drink, and left. No problem. ( used 1 msb special and was gone before other recharged.) Next I went to guthan. He was nothing special, healed only once on me. Then turned around and done torag, which was easy without prayer. Then i went to the tunnel, which i knew dharok would be waiting on me. The first time i went into the side tunnel he showed up. I quickly left the other end cause i wasn't ready to fight him just yet. When i went back in to fight him, ANOTHER ONE spawned, got hit with 2 double digits and quickly left the tunnel. i ran around, found the puzzle, then messed it up by picking wrong choice. ( newby mistake, even though i knew the answer) So i walked around some more then found it again, got same question but got it right. I drank 2 doses, threw on protect and opened chest. Dharok got beat quick and then i went to get my rewards. I kept clicking on chest but i didn't notice the things were in my backpack, the tunnel started shaking and i hurried and teled out to cammy (i was on magic screen for some reason). I then noticed i got a total of 75 deaths, 100 something chaos, 300 something minds and 1400 gold, and sadly no armour :(. well thats my story, thanks everyone for the help. also- i only used 2 and a half prayer pots

i just did barrows for the first time, and i did it easily. 50 range was enough to kill ahrim without a problem i ended up using 2.5 prayer pots, but i wasted 2 doses because i forgot i didn't need it on torag i think you could get through with those levels if you wanted to. i'm bout to go do some more and try it out. if you want to talk about this just message me.

thanks everyone... After reading this and talking to other people, i will get ranged to atleast 50, for blue hide and magic bow w/ rune arrows. As for defense i will prob get it to 60, maybe 65 The slayer thing...i was going to do that...but i got some kalphs that i don't feel like doing, so i might stick with fire blast.

i know my levels are kinda low, especially def and range. def i ain't worried about, cause i will be doing protect on 4/6 or 5/6 of the brothers, so it ain't to big of a deal, but my range is the problem. Right now its only 42. I'm going to work it up to 50 before i try, but does anyone think i can successfully do a couple of barrows at my lvls. Hp: 68 Mag: 72 Def: 57 Pray: 53 range: 50 any comments?

Hey i have read 2 posts similar to this, got a clue scroll that tells me to go to the island, i found the cave they both talk bout but it keeps putting me into random places going in a circle, and keeps saying i need a map to get around. anyone know where the map is at? thanks for any help.

alright, i have finally decided to try to start training nothing but magic. This will eventually be goal to 99 magic, but making it by level jumps. Well as the black demons didn't go so well, i will be trying out blue dragons, since they always drop hides, that will help a lot more then the very randomness of the black demons. Will still be posting the drops worth keeping, if there is any. going to have to go the long way around as i don't have the 70 agility for shortcut. i'm wearing Far seer helm. Guthix cape glory amulet. lava staff. mystic robe junk shield. mystic boots and pants and ring of wealth. in my invent also bringing deaths for blast. nats for high alc laws for telekinetic and teleing out. antipoisin i will post any drops i plan on selling, everything else will be alced or dropped. 1. clue scroll (first one ever)- 15 lobs, black d hide, 27 bloods, 240 coins rune pick and longsword 2.another clue scroll. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. 11. 12. 13. 14. 15. 16. 17. 18. 19. 20. donates will be helpful, but nothing is needed but airs and deaths and maybe a few antipoisins (i got enough of everything for now.) btw- i do know this is a low goal for some, but it will be kinda hard for me, so please no flaming for the low lvl, just encouragement pls.

again, they don't count as runes required, they count as 1 of the highest used rune that are combined (for the mud its water and earth), no spell requires muds, they require earth and/or water but you can use mud to take place of one ( so like curse, you would use 3 muds instead of 3 earths and 2 waters.)

umm, mud doesn't count as a rune, it count as either 1 earth or 1 water, whichever one takes the most.
