Is Jagex showing a lack of attention to autoing?
darkforaster replied to archer11's topic in General Discussion
same here, I am f2p, but walking from Lumbridge to draynor surprises me. easpecially near the lake. I recently went on a reporting trip, every autoer i could find, for 1 minute I would talk to them, try to get a response. If no response I reported them. But why should i be stuck out there reporting all the players, wasting my own time. the answer is i shouldn't. But jagex doesn't care. they only care about the income and profits. Not the feelings of the players in-game. plus, there are a lot more people in f2p than p2p. ~calculations~ Lets say that there are 3 X more f2p players than p2p players. this would mean that approximately 3/4 of the entire population of rs is f2p. around 3 million. 3000000/5000 -} 3000/5 -} 600. only 600 is banned every week, out of 3 million. Sure, the amount of autoers is not 3 million. but how much of the population is being banned? 0.02% is being banned every week. Add that to the amount of autoers join every week. and jagex aren't really affecting the autoer population whatsoever. -
The exp reduction idea doesn't solve the problem, because lots of people alch for the gold profit, not the magic exp. 1)yes, but that's not what i was currently talking about. I was saying that a lower exp given would stop the alching training which is what I responded to. Please read the post, before you go against it. 2)Plus we don't have an infinite amount of time. RS won't last long enougth for the prices of coal being that high. if you disagree, look at how many players are leaving due to: a) boredom, the miniclip kids. B) annoyance, the little kids frustrating the players. 3) as for the gold problem, easily solved. You just reduce the amount of gold given by alching. then, due to the cost of nature runes and impatience of the community. People will stop using it unless they need a little amount of money FAST.

that's not what i heard. according to my source, when going at the speed of light your mass becomes infinite. And how that makes it look smaller, i'll never know. However, things don't just appear. everything has a reason behind it. so there would be a reason for the electorns disappearing around the nucleus thier orbiting. or how suns and planets are created. When space expands, it can hold more things. this does not neccessarily mean it is filled straight away. Just that it can be filled. like an empty box. it can be filled, but might not. :-k

3) The Ending. Well that's it. I'll be glad to know your views on these games and more. Of course, you won't need to lay it out like me. All I really want is your opinion on the upcoming and the new games. to advise, and help otehrs choose what games they might like. 4) The List. the games the tip.it community and me recommend the most. Full name please! I do not write FE:POR normally, only once i've said path of radiance a lot of times. And please say what console it is on. Only 10 on each section unless this thread turns out to be a huge success. ~Sony~ 1) 2) 3) 4) ~Nintendo~ 1) 2) 3) 4) ~Xbox (Microsoft)~ 1) 2) 3) 4)

2) Ds games. ~Harvest Moon Ds~ Yes, the main DS game that I've been waiting for. harvest moon ds is said to be a pal for life. So if your a new gamer, and want to start on a game that won't finish in a few days. This is for you. The main thing i like about this game though, is simple. The fact that you CAN be evil. from spreading litter, to mistreating animals. Even managing to marry the Witch princess. You can be absolutely diabolical, and noone will stop you. Sure they may hate you but who cares? Harvest moon is not a completable game, and in fact, gives you lots of surprises every time you go on it. Basically, you raise a farm, marry someone- from a goddess or mermaid, to a tom-boyish ladette, or make money by selling jewels you find in the mine. Watever suits you best. ~Pokemon Ranger~ Ahh, pokemon. The easiest of all video games I've ever played. And although i dislike pokemon, there are many who like it. so i'll try to be as neutral as possible in this game opinion. In ranger, the pokeballs, shops and training have vanished. The only way to truly master ranger is to master the pokemon's special abilities. and the way to do this is to make a spyrograph stick. In order to do this you need to draw nine circles around the pokemon. This is not as easy as it sounds, as if hit, you have to start again. And some pokemon gang up, making it even harder to draw the circles. All this makes pokemon ranger the most challenging pokemon game yet. BUt a bit on the downside includes the audio. With similar pokemon cries as back in 1996. ~F-24 stealth fighter~ Again, this is the black sheep of the flock. A very strange and unentertaining game which is similar to the top gun NES game released 20 years ago. on the plus side however it has a good use of the touch screen, with various buttons you can press to activate certain reactions. (e.g fire), unfortunately, the rest is considered a joke due to lack of exciting gameplay and graphics.

1a) Ok, I love video games. pretty much all types. though I've never been a fan of driving and sport games, classics like zelda and mario are always welcome in my book. please read the whole thing before posting. thanks Disclaimer: there *may* be spoilers in this thread. If there is and i haven't covered it up. TELL me and I'll change it. Note: this thread is for both microsoft, sony and nintendo fans. But i am a nintendo fan, so will obviously want ninetndo games. Contents: 1a) Introduction, Contents. 1b) Wii games 2) Ds games. 3) The Ending. 4) The List 1b) Now, my signature shows what games I'll most recommend in the future. But I'll tell you the ones which I know most about. mainly from Ngamermagasin. ~Mercury Meltdown~ Yep, that's what they said. and by reading a couple of reviews I can agree with them. it sounds like a lot of hard work. The aim of the game is to guide the ball of mercury across a specific level, without letting it drop. this is harder than it sounds as according to ngamer, in one level there is 16 different balls of mercury you need to guide round 1 level- at the same time. So if you like challenging games. this is the game for you. ~Fire Emblem: Goddess of Dawn~ Yes, the one I am really hoping to get, unfortunately, I am unaware of when it comes out. But it appears to be an improved version of Path of Radiance. So if you disliked Path of Radiance, don't play the game. Like POR (path of radiance, not portugal) the goal of teh game is the same. Complete various levels by fulfilling a certain aim. This time, however, you are not playing against Daein, but infact playing as Daein. So at some point, you will have to fight players such as ike to complete the game. ~Let's Go by Train~ Well, for every flock of white sheep, there is the one black sheep. and here it is. Although i only read one review of it, it sounds like a total bore. So DO NOT BUY IT! UNLESS.... you want to drive a train around which always gets to the next station- No matter how much you try to crash it. This game involves you being a train driver. and requires you to drive the train safely into the next stop. do it incorrectly, and you lose driver ranking. And with this unentertaining packaging, you need to buy the game, the controler AND the wii in order to play it. The game costs ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã88, the remote for it costs ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã70 and the wii depends if you bought one on a bargain or by a rip-off. ~ 2) on next post~

so every spell HAS to harm things. pretty much every magic tale always has a few spells which don't exactly harm things. So why shouldn't RS? A spell is the use of magic to enhance someone's needs. And alching helps that person get money. Anything wrong there? no. But I do believe that alching needs to be chanaged as just simply stading still and doing all that really is not magic training. ~solution~ reduce the amount of exp alchemy spells give you. This would encourage players not to alc for training. but no matter what happens coal will NEVER reach 12k each. (don't reply to this).

Wow, so you lost your kill. big deal. NOT. seriously. look at it from thier point of view. If you were hurt, would you eat? probably yes. No one wants to lose items. Which is what safing is all about. Keeping you alive and keeping your items.

wow, i have to choose from 3. hmmmm :-k In no particular order: 1) Legent of zelda; twilight princess. BEST gameplay EVER! Puzzling dungeons, cool min games. Let down by the easy bosses. 9/10 2) Fire emblem: path of radience. Actually requires you to think a bit more, and great story line. But repetetive gameplay + 1-p only = disapoointment. 8/10. 3) Super smash bros melee. If you haven't played this then you NEED to. the one thing sony and microsoft lack- a character beat-them up game. Once you've completed the game though, it gets boring. 10/10!!! =D> 4) GTA: vice city stories. ahh... How I never get tired of shooting police. BIt easy to though. I stand still when shooting, and it took 5 stars for me to be HIT. I was run over by a tank in the end. 9/10 Well there you have it. my four most recommended games.

The next big MMORPG in production... Yours!
darkforaster replied to Defender2516's topic in Off-Topic
great idea. i support! It was always my dream to design computer/video games. From MMORPG's to RPG's to other games. I'll help. UIn fatc I've already started a little design for future use myself. -
any gamer who buys games because they have good graphics is what i would never call a true gamer. Games are for fun and entertainment. So whther it is blowing some guy's head off, or just solving puzzles. I'm Ok with it. If the game looks good, but has useless graphics, I'll buy it anyway. Unless a newer version comes out with better graphics. Sure, graphics make a game better. But without gameplay, graphics is nothing. ~summary~ The gameplay is the most important aspect of a video game. good gameplay= good game.

congrats to the calculations there. but have you ever noticed that there are much more f2p than members. so the economy balances out. You guessed that there is around 3 times as much f2p players than actual members. This would mean that f2p actually gets jagex a similar amount of money than what members do. edit: just done the calculations, members DO pay JUST more than non-members do. in fact the actual amount f2p pay is $ 4.9986 dollars every month, per 3 people. Putting to mind that more people join every day, that number will increase. As will the amount of members. Making both sides similar in money terms.
-
3/4 is probably stilll to much i say maybe every 6 months? That's a bit selfish don't you think? :notalk: :shame: -.- . that means they only get 2 updates a year. $5 is all we payed. So $5 gets us 50 updates while f2p gets 2? Sure jagex don't update every week, but still that's harsh. i meant once a month. the once a month INCLUDES graphic improvements meaning that thier game experience is not increased, just the game quality.

Flag holding in cw, Cheating or not?
darkforaster replied to Danqazmlp's topic in General Discussion
Fun for the team who holds it. What about the opposing team. Chasing some level 110+ in sheer hope that he drops the flag as he is too powerful to kill. That's not fun. It allows you to strive to train up your character or that of your castle war clan to be able to compete and utilize this new threat. That is, after all, the spirit of the game. Utilize strajeties that work, and rid yourselves of those that don't, so you might stretejically be more likely to win. No, it is not cheating, it is simply strategic investments. If you can name a way of defeating this strategy then I'll agree with you. At the moment I can't see how we can defeatt he person holding the flag. Why? 1) Various other 110+ are helping guard the flag. 2) our team does not group together and LEAVE OUR FLAG UNGUARDED. 3) the other teams to strong for our team to do the same strategy (usually). plus it takes away the fun of the game. becuase chasing someone is not what we call fun. besides it strayes from the game's strategy, in CW you are suppose to capture the opponent's standard and take the flag. but if the flag's not there then you can't capture it. -

Well, you can't go wrong with zelda and mario games. There clasics. And can be really challenging and amusing.

Right, I highly doubt this goes in this forum, but since it is the closest i could find. Good enougth. If it has a different home, MOVE it NOT LOCK it. Now for the questions. I have always wanted a draynor signature, and want to know how to get one. i have registered on draynor.net and have searched frequently to answer my questions. But I cannot find any. If it helps, I have Windows XP home and Bt yahoo broadband. ~Summary~ i want to know how to get a Draynor signature.

I think that some realism is involved. For example. If you swing a pickaxe at a normal rock, the rock won't break instantly. But swinging it multiple times it will eventually break. So with more than one pickaxe hammering down on it, breaks it quicker. Unfortunatley for us, that person's pickaxe was the one who brock the rock, therefore the ore is his. We just softened the rock up for him. But this actually works to our advantage, as this means that the lower levels actually get some ore, making it fairer and the higher levels don't always win. But they win as well. This should prevent both sides from ranting. Unfortunately, higher levels usually do. Just because they lost the ore a few times. In fact, jagex expect higher level miners to mine high leveled rocks so that lower levels can't intervene.

After reading the first and second pages, I am hoping that Solidus Hasn't left this thread. For every alcher, there is someone recharging their crystal bow, repairing their barrows armor, buying mind runes in bulk from aubury, paying Sanbioch 875gp to get into Brimhaven dungeon \ , etc. etc. etc. That's money disappearing from the game. Correct, the ballance is between injections and leakages. The injections are things like alching, pickpocketing and the leakages (often called "money skings") are anything related to construction, and the shops. Many argue that the massive injections are off-setting the ballance. Pretty much ANYTHING can be made using skills. and construction is optional. Does everyone do construction? No. does everyone buy the things they need. No. Sure, there are those who do it. But what about those who don't. Who make thier own items needed and didn't do construction. They can make masses of profit from alching.
-
Not neccessarily. if somethings hard it just means it's harder to do. It does not mean it will teach you skills. There is a difference. It just so happens that harder things will USUALLY make you learn skills.
-
NO. I think skills are much better, quests are good, but so are skills. But the most important part of Rs is the people. I know that a few of my friends play RS, Much better than me, all of them. BUt I don't care. They can gloat and boast but I won't care. I completed a quest. And more and more, I got tired eventually and just used the guides. BUt some do like it. i just don't really.
-
I, myself, do not find runescape educational. Maybe that is because i am english, as many otehrs have said that the game can teach you good english. But I'm unsure that the majority of the runescape players (english speakers) won't learn anything. RS is a basic game. Only used to learn language.
-
If they can't take the loss of some pixels easily, then they shouldn't be playing the game anyway. In runescape, you have to learn the fact that you lose items. But you can always get those items back. i'm not saying they should drop thier entire bank on the floor, but I am saying they need to learn that sometimes they will lose items. If jagex keeps on treating the younger less intelligent ones, every time they lose some items, it's going to appear on rants. So the question here is: Do you want idiots to rule runescape? Because by disagreeing with this thread and idea, you are saying yes. For the community will get lazier and more idiotic. Surely those who is stupid enough to say thier password, doesn't really belong on a game like runescape, where a good long-term plan and goals are involved. I agree with Bufoman's post above this one.

the staff has no special attack, but some of the spells do. So i don't believe it belongs. As for the ranged comment, i'll take that part out. But I was thinking of crossbows in mind. remember this is ALL of range, not just bow and arrows. Plus, you never mentioned whether you think the combat triangle is fair or not. Which is the whole point of this topic. :-k
