  1. Thanks for the examples. That's what i was looking for. Could i use Charles? The others i'm not too fond of. Charles seems to fit the time more.
  2. I can definatley help you with names, in fact, I'm probably one of the most creative people here in the library with names. But, you must tell me: Older, medieval sounding names, or medieval present? I like your coin idea, BTW. Oh (not trying to advertise) and if you need any inspiration, read my story, The_Advent followed by The_Corrupt...Leave feedback too, please (Still not trying to advertise, I like feedback, though :D ). If you want, take names from those stories--Except the main character. From those stories, you'll find inspiration...Hold on, I'll supply links so you can read 'em later. I was thinking names that might fit the characters more. I'm happy with the duke names, wildheart names, Crystal has changed to ruby. But I'd like to know tha proper spelling of Geoffry. If you know it. I think the reason taht I'm not so creative today is that I've got tests in the morning. And I'm nervous. Oh, and thanks. I'll check out those threads. And I appreciate the help with names. edit: I've decided to use various names from video games based in that era. Such as fire emblem path of radiance and Legend of Zelda. they may not be original. But at least there pretty good. of course, I'll be making new characters all the time, so some names would not be unwelcomed.
  3. yes, I did think that. At first, I thought that everything had to be 100% rs. Thanks for clearing that up. I am absolutely useless when it comes to writing names like this. All I think of is Robert and Joe. :wall: #-o . But I'll change the names. Sorry, I don't have firefox. But I'll recheck my chapters so far for errors. Soem examples would be nice so I could start looking. Ok, I'll divide the chapter's into parts. Each part is named. With 3+ parts per chapter. Kk, I'll use bronze coins, silver coins and gold coins. 100 bronze coins = 1 silver coin. 100 silver coins = 1 gold coin. 10 000 bronze coins = 1 gold coin. I think i'll stop adding chapters now and start focusing on the present ones. I just wanted to get a headstart.
  4. ~Chapter 1, A change in fate - part 3 The shop was built north-east of the general store. It was installed with a furnace for miners to smelt gold in. To make jewelry. A clever idea thought of by Oscar, who is a genius. The shop was built quickly by everyone in Lumbridge. Eager to begin the next buisness. It took just 3 days to build the house. And another 4 for the furnace. Within days the store got it's first customer- Duke Triburn from Falador, who had heard of the shop movement. The duke came to persuade Oscar to return to Falador. As a mass theft took away the biggest gem source, Duke Peterig, because of stolen gems. But Oscar refused. But struck a deal with the Duke nonetheless. "If you advertise my shop in Falador I will give you a variety of gems up to diamond - cut and uncut - to you. So that my store can be used by someone else." The duke reluctantly agreed to Oscar's condition. After all. It doesn't matter who runs the jewel shop. As long as someone does. After the duke had left a mysterious figure appeared to the east. Past the river and goblin forest. As he approaches, Charles spots him. He was a Varrock tramp, covered in dirt from head to toe. And the only items he had was a pickaxe, a hammer and the clothes on his back. But for a tramp, he seemed surprisingly fat. He probably gets fed well due to the amounts of dropped food. He strolled past the goblins, who ignored him as if he was also a goblin. He did look rather ugly like they are. But he was cautionally looked at. As if the Goblins knew that he was human. They were just not intrested in fighting. After crossing the bridge, he was greeted by Midna. "Hello sir, may I ask your buisness here in Lumbridge?" This may have sounded rude to the tramp. But the Lumbridge folk knew that any person allianced with the Goblins would be trouble. So she said it anyway. "I hear you have a furnace. About time too. I'm sick of holding my ores up my shirt. They scratch the skin." He untucked his shirt and a pile of rocks fell out. A crowd had gathered, suspicious of his strange behaviour and use of sorage. "May I use your furnace? I'm not walking through the village of barbarians or near that Draynor castle. The Falador furnace will have to wait." Oscar nods, but slowly. As if unsure of his choice. The tramp smiles and walks over to the furnace. He shoved all the ore in the furnace at the same time. He had obviously never used one before. He ended up getting a massive block of bronze. After taking it out of the furnace, he juggled it between hands because of it's heat. He shoved it up his shirt quickly then took it out again. The bar lands on the floor with a mighty thump! knocking some of the jewels on the floor. "Man that was hot. Oh well, now to Varrock anvils." He lifts his bar up, now that it was cool, and left the shop. "I'll be coming here a lot more often now, I needed a furnace, and now I've got one. And every time I use it. I'll get a bit more richer. Oh! I almost forgot. The names Dervish by the way." He shakes everyone's hands and departs. Heading through the goblins again. Whom still didn't attack him. He came back 3 times that day. So Oscar decided to make a furnace fee. Everytime someone wanted to use the furnace. They would have to pay 50 bronze cions for it. So D, as he called himself, paid the fee every time. And everytime he returned, he looked a lot richer. By the last visit, he had a suit of bronze armour on. The goblins were a lot more agressive to him then, he had to run in and out of the woods to escape them. He was a miner, not a fighter. We were thankful for the slow speeds of the goblins. As without it, D would die. Then a good source of income vanishes. Things seemed to be getting better for Lumbridge since the death of Ruby. ~end of chapter 1~
  5. ~ Chapter 1, A change in fate - part 2~ Lumbridge was mourning. But death was unknown to the people until the next sunday. When mass began. The funeral had only one more person than expected. The rest were Lumbridge citizens. But the other was Ruby's father, Oscar. Who was a Jewel merchant in Falador. Closer to Ruby than any other at the funeral; Oscar began by telling the others of his memories of her. " ... At 20 she left. She moved to a house in Varrock. Near the church to the north. There she learnt the ways of Saradomin and the beliefs of his followers." He began to cry. "When she had finished learning, she left to spread the word of Saradomin. That's when she built this very church. And encouraged all of you to come live here." He left the alter in tears. Charles was the last to speak. He was normally quiet. Left to his own ideas. Some say he loved Ruby, others say they were life-long friends. No one knew. "Ruby had no reason to die. She was a well-mannered girl, who prayed to Lord Saradomin every day. She always had faith in us. Even during our darkest hours. I know now, that she will rest with Saradomin forever. Watching down and guiding our paths." "Let us remember all the good times we had with her. All the bad things should be forgotten. But we pray to Saradomin for not our needs, but hers. This is all I have to say." Charles then stepped down. And the funeral concluded. "Wait!" cried Oscar. "I have a few last words, not concerning my daughter. Follow me to the general store. There we may sit and rest. After this treachourous day." Everyone did as he asked. Geoffrey got the seats, and they all gathered round the shop counter. "As you probably may know. I am a seller of Jewels, and as of late. Falador has become wealthier. Now, my buisness sales and profits are decreasing every day." Oscar was frowning. Obviously doubtful of his choice. "This means that the area is rich with jewels. Therefore, I have decided to move my buisness elsewhere." The rest of the group smiled. Guessing what was coming next. Charles looked especially joyful. Now that Ruby's wish for more buisness may come true. "I am moving it here. To Lumbridge. Where my daughter lived." Everyone cheered. Except Midna, who was just pleased. The only one who thought of how this might affect Oscar's buisness, instead of Lumbridge's buisness. "That's not all." Continued Oscar, after the crowd had settled. "In my will I have given the money that I have to be shared out, equally, with the citizens of Lumbridge. To be used to enhance the town's growth." This began another chain of cheering, even Midna leaped for joy. ~ End of chapter 1, part 2~
  6. ~ Chapter 1, A change in fate - part 1 ~ Back then, Lumbridge was a simple town. No palace or bank. Just a general store, axe store, church and 3 houses. Home to Geoffrey, Ruby, Midna, Charles and Wildheart. Wildheart was a nickname given to him by his father, so now he makes everyone call him that. Which gave them these nicknames. Charles and Midna had no jobs. They merely fished at Draynor or chopped wood in the Eastern forests. Then sold it to Geoffry, the owner of the general store. Sunday morning, and Ruby began mass. "Let us pray for our neighbouring towns and villages. For thier protection, and for thier happiness. Dear lord." The crowd rose to pray. "Bless the town of Draynor my lord. Grant them peace under the eyes of Saradomin. Let thier buisnesses thrive and thier townsfolk live long. Now and forever." Amen." The crowd follow with thier amen and they depart. Thier hopes for their own village had faded, so they wished to hear no more. Ruby, however continued. Weeping for the depressed lumbridge village. "My lord. Please, let our people thrive. Put back thier faith in themselves and you. Make sure that they have luck with every footstep. I'm begging you. Amen." Her prayers were unanswered because on the next day. Darkness fell upon Lumbridge. Ruby, the first lumbridge citizen at the age of 58, died. In her Church, praying. All was not well for the village of Lumbridge. ~ end of part 1 ~
  7. Iwould like to see three things included for f2p. then I would not say that there is any other thing That i, personally would want to see: 1) 1 f2p forum. used by both f2p and p2p. tough p2p probably won't use it. 2) some ranged quests. f2p is biased towards melee, then mage. there is not any ranger quests. 3) Capes of achievements. Including a f2p quest cape (f2p worlds only. Given to you if you have done all f2p quests. has less bonuses than the otehr quest capes.) ermm. yes with the bank space, but willows do the 45-60 thing.
  8. There woudn't be any "wandering" involved according to my suggestion: Yes but i still don't see the portals as neccessary, there are lots of skills. Only 7 are members only. That means there need to be a portal for: crafting, firemaking, cooking, fishing, woodcutting, attack, defence, strength, prayer, runecrafting, smithing, mining, hitpoints, magic and range. All these have different locations, with different people who say different things. That's going to take up a LOT of space. Something that jagex can not afford to do.
  9. I think it would be better if there was a f2p master which sold you all the capes (if you have 99 in that skill). This would stop the need of portals, and f2p wandering in p2p areas. It should have the same bonuses. otherwise, they didn't really achieve anything other than: - pesky people always asking of do the emote. - the ability to do the emote. The achievement cape should give you high bonuses. that's why it's there. to help balance out the argument.
  10. Good luck, hope you achieve what you were looking for. But remember- perservere, keep trying. Even if it gets boring. That's what I'm doing- fishing. Of course I'm not that good yet, But hopefully, I'll be able to gloat at my friend in a few months. (he is an rs addict. If he finds out i have higher fishing than him, he'll freak.) But i don't see why you want firemaking. It's the most pointless skill I've EVER heard of. you light some logs. there's no challengs and no complex strategy involved. It's just use a tinderbox with some logs from a tree of some sort. It's unrealistic, you're still going to be able to burn yew with a tinderbox. no matter how your level may be. (if we had levels in rl). Good luck though.
  11. congrats to the calculations there. but have you ever noticed that there are much more f2p than members. so the economy balances out. You guessed that there is around 3 times as much f2p players than actual members. This would mean that f2p actually gets jagex a similar amount of money than what members do. edit: just done the calculations, members DO pay JUST more than non-members do. in fact the actual amount f2p pay is $ 4.9986 dollars every month, per 3 people. Putting to mind that more people join every day, that number will increase. As will the amount of members. Making both sides similar in money terms. Actually, since the number of free and members worlds is balanced out, and the free worlds aren't really any more full than the members ones, having more free players doesn't really help with the revenue. Since a free account not logged in won't bring them any money. And as mentioned way long ago in this thread, of all those free players, you have to take into account that quite a few probably block ads, reducing the amount that Jagex will get. Meh, I was just saying. perhaps f2p makes more money to jagex than members. Becuase remember, f2p worlds is prety much the advertising of rs. Without, many would not go. i must say I have rejected a few p2p MMORPG's becuase they force me to pay. In rs, i gave jagex a miniscule (to them, not to me) amount of money. BY becoming members, and still afterwards they get paid because i play. Besides, jagex obviously values the f2p community, AS IT@S STILL RUNNING!
  12. range can make thier armour from crafting. Sure it's low leveled, but that's jagex's choice not ours. They could increase the amount of armour f2p can make. but i don't see that happening. hmm... let me see. Hunter: Haven't really hunted yet so no comment. Farming: someones already said the problems with this. Construction: Too many p2p items involved. Fletching: There's no flax in the f2p world. If there was flax then... maybe. Agility: I really don't see any plus or minus to this one. Herblore: Most of the herbs are members only. Slayer: Most of the slayer master are in p2p parts of the world. Unless you introduce a f2p slayer master... So i would say the best chanche for a p2p skill becoming f2p is either Slayer, maybe Hunter and Agility. Fletching is too much of a big skill for it to become f2p.
  13. Your actually wanting f2p to get less space? :shame: :shame: :shame: :shame: :shame: :shame: :shame: f2p is fine as is. all i think they need is 1 forum to post on (that's right a f2p forum), and a few ranged quests. as f2p is biased towards melee and mage.
  14. I'm a big fan of horror stories. And my english teacher set us homework to write one. but unfortunately, it was so long i finished my english book, got another one, finished the story. Then lost the book. so now i only have the beggining. and your going to miss the most descriptive parts of the story. ~Mislead~ A sunny, bright day. Not a cloud in sight. And on a perfect day like this, a maze was opened to the public. But this maze was no ordinary maze, this maze was the largest maze in the UK. Not too far off London. But far enougth that the city life did not disturb the wildlife. So the opening ceremony began and the humans were celebrating at thier creation. This may seem a bit far-fetched, but my words are as accurate as robin Hood's aim with a bow and arrow. Humans party over the most trivial things. Which has given the name 'ignorant' to them. But, some say that ignorance is a form of blessing. As it may be better to keep horrors hidden away, than let loose. The humans ignorance, in this case, was not a blessing, but a curse to all of them. It signalled thier doom and destruction. They were unaware of what was in thier maze. The maze they dreamed for. Unknowing of what was waiting for them. What was watching them. Mocking their very existence. But this tale is not about these humans, or the creature lurking in the shadows of the maze. But about how this maze began the end of life on earth. But I, Destiny, who controls time and space an bend it to my will, is ignorant of what occurs. But the 5 children is a fate I controlled. The story of them walking into the maze willingly. sacrificing thier lives. to try and help one whom was doomed.... Screams, a woman cries out from within the maze. the scream is folowed by a shriek. Umlike any other I've heard of. I go in and investigate, along with 4 others. Robert, Emily, Adam and my best friend Joe. Nothing at the beggining of the maze, so we proceed, eager to help the one in distress. Green hedges everywhere, frustratingly similar, no way of telling if we're going in circles. all I see is green. Exhaustion kicks in, and i stop. I realise we're lost. i know we are know in serious trouble. we have no map, no way of telling how to get out, and worse. the maze we are in is tremendous in size. Adam, the most athletic in the group, continues. Only slightly tired. I ask him to stop, but he ignores me and continues down the path. he turns and curses. then runs past the corner, out of sight. We turn to spot two skeletons, near each other. laying on the floor. In two ditches, which appear to lead to a tunnel of some sort. We continue to examine the remains as Rob pulls them out. We soon conclude that they were female. but were killed at different times. As we look closer att he bodies, we see flesh tattered along the bones, as if the rest had been ripped off, forcefully and rapidly. Suddenly, I look round, unnerved by the discovery. Terrified of what was out there. "Who, no, What killed these people?" Emily spoke slowly, but was trembling badly. fearing what could be the cause of these deaths. "Well, it's not human. That's for sure." Rob pauses, he was clam. But there was doubt in his eyes. Not able to believe what happened. "Humans can't rip skin off like this. It just ... can't be done. And i know of no animal which can do this either." Suddenly the words sink in, we have to escape. we have to report this to the authorities. Joe sets off, we follow close behind. NOt wanting to get lost in this maze of death. Hours later, lost track of time. Dark now, no easy way to see ahead of us. Nonetheless we continue. Emily is still in shock. I'm worried about her. it doesn't seem like her. We start to argue, simply because we have no other things to do. eventually, the riot get out of hand. I try to end it, quickly and forcefully. So I shout at the top of my lungs "SHUT UP!" They immeadiately silence, but not of me. of a strange laughter in the background. It stops and i hear a curse. I squint, struggling to see with the precious light around me. A few feet ahead of us, two purple eye-shaped orbs float in nothingness. The wind picks up, and the clouds blow across. And suddenly a strange thought crossed my mind- the maze was scared.- light beams from above, my eyesight adjusts and i see the figure. He appears to be humanoid. And those with poor eyesight would mistake him to be human. BUt we have more advanced senses than that, and we clearly know that this being is not of human origin. He has pitch black skin. And scales cover his body. The eyes are violet, and have no pupils. Just two eyes of violet, pure colour. He startled us as he approached, we instinctivly take a step back. "I am a shade," He speaks darkly, and there's a tone of pity hidden in his voice. "Do not fear me, humans. As long as you do not flee, i will keep you alive." Despite his warning, Emily breaks free of the group. Fleeing in sheer hope it would leave us alone. We turn to stop her, but we are too late. as we face shade again, he is gone. vanished without a trace. A whimper from behind. We see shade standing over Emily, blocking her path. Moving incredibly fast. "You cannot eascape. You are human, therefore are dum. That is why you ignored my threat." He touches her forehead. His finger glows then, Emily shrieks. She appears to be having a seizure of some sort. I see black lines running over her body, where hey blood capillaries should be. The fits stop, and she lay silent, not moving. The lines still racing round her body. Rob rushes to her aid. To discover her dead. "What did you do to her? You monster." There were tears in his eyes. but his voice was filled with fear. "I merely increased her yang, this extra evil energy overwhelmed the Tin. Her good side. Inevitably causing her death. As no human can survive without it. Another fact you've lurnt today. Making you that little bit smarter eh?" He laughs with pleasure and excitement. Now that he's had the taste of death he won't stop. I run, Rob and the rest in toe. fleeing the creature. Wanting our lives to be spared. The shriek erupts again. and I see a starnge worm like creature at war with the shade. "A demon?!" Cried the being, that's the last i heard of him at that time. Still running, sorry that Emily died in such a manner, but life continues. and we have to move on. ~end~ Well, unfortunately the rest is lost. But what do you think about it. a rating out of 10 would be nice.
  15. 3 seconds doesn't matter that much. sure it eventually builds up. but there is many solutions: -Don't use abyss runecrafting -Don't Runcraft in the first place, and buy your runes. -Just ignore it and continue. See how those solutions make it much easier? so now the disadvantage is taken away, the advantages include: -now less people get lured -less people flood forums with luring rants -gives you more warning when entering the wildy so using this. the ditch is fine.
  16. I have to agree with her. giving people names such as greb, chav and emo is pointless. BUti have to say, i get along with "chavs" better than "grebs" or "emo's" as they are usually nicer. But things could be different in scotland. As I'm english.
  17. I don't really read manga. (too much youi{- is that how you spell it?). and I watched very little anime. ~anime list~ (in order of liking) 1) naruto 2) noein 3) shaman king. Plus, I'm about to start watching bleach. Nothing beats naruto though, so many episodes.i've watched them ALL. 225 since i last checked. might be more. I'll go see now... digimon was rubbish. whoever thought of the idea of digital monsters is in my bad books.
  18. you do know that the owner of this thread said that you should not reply bu saying that: f2p don't pay, but members do. that's why we sould get lots of bank space and f2p shouldn't. which is exactly what you said (in different wording of course.) but, f2p do pay jagex money, by ads, unfortunately. they don't pay as much as p2p.
  19. stuff stuff Trunks ol' bud, the problem with that point is that both teams have that ability. It'd be cheating if only one team could do it, but since both teams are on a level playing field it can't really be considered cheating. If the other team is strong enough to flaghold and your team isn't, they're probably already stronger and more strategic than your team anyways, so "going up an opponent you just can't beat" most likely has little to do with flagholding. if both hold the flag, then it comes to a stalemate and everyone gets bored. so basically the game is wrecked all because of a little flag holding. That's really fair :shame:  -.- :boohoo:
  20. can you read what i posted just above you? I said that it is not fun for the OTHER team. Why spoil one team's fun for the pure fun of yourself? Because you aren't there to make their job fun, you're there to have fun yourself? yes but shouldn't ALL have fun? or are you so selfish you want all the fun to go to you and your team, no one else? Of course, all should have fun. But, they have the same ability to hold their flag. yes but if both teams hold thier flag then it comes to a stalemate, then BOTH teams will get bored. completely ruining the game.
  21. so noobs cannot click on advertisemets? that's a strange way to think.
  22. fate doesn't decide what you DO but the CONSEQUECES of what you do. the car crash you mentioned might still occur, but with a different car. if your fortune said something like " you will be hit by a car" and it follows what fate intended. you stop, get your keys, finish talking. then walking out to cross the road then *wham* you're hit by a car.
  23. no free will doesnt exit and neithier does destiny there both illisuions. An idiots way to explain something they can not understand or chose to deny, just like God in my eyes. Im blunt and to the point. that post disagrees with what you previously put. because you DID say that you could CHOOSE a PLAN e.g PLAN a,b,c or d. that's a bit harsh don't you think? who knows? they could be right. You could be wrong. then it would be the other way round. you don't need to insult people for what they believe in. it's wrong. I could say the same about you. but i hold back.
  24. what the police there should do is find housing that's affordable for the offenders which obeys the "nowhere near children" law. this would get them a home, stop the risk of more children being abused, and less worrying near the bridge.
