  1. Maybe a longsword/shortsword or longsword/dagger combination, but not longsword/longsword. Swinging two 48", 4lb. slabs of sharp metal is going to be a lot more dangerous to you than it is to your opponent.
  2. You couldn't pay me to use that "sword" with an amount of money containing an absurd amount of zeros. Barring the fact that it'd be useless, it doesn't even look good.
  3. The handle for a flail is called a shaft, not a stick. There's a lot more involved in flail construction than a shaft, chain and ball. You can't use a chain that's too long, otherwise it'd take too long to get any momentum into the thing, and if it's too short, it's useless. It needs to be long enough to add momentum, but short enough to be able to deal damage from a direct swing. Whirling the thing around your head is going to be more dangerous to you than it is to the enemy. Alternatively, flails can be made of two rods with a hinge in the middle, or with the shaft attached by the chain to another reinforced rod. Oh, and then there's Verac's Flail or whatever it's called. Oh yes. Let's forget that you'd need a horse to drag the thing around and the fact that a human would take at least twelve seconds to reload the bloody thing, and he'd need the help of a huge winch to do it. And that the bolts weigh at least a pound each. And that's only for the smallest types of ballista. Lances... meh. Same thing as a spear, only you use them from horseback. Unless we're talking about jousting lances, in which case you HAVE to use them from horseback, and they're designed to shatter on impact.
  4. Way to bump your thread every minute. That'd totally get people to post on it. Anyway, we already have Slayer. What's the point of this skill?
  5. Bzzt. Wrong. That's a flail. A morningstar is just a mace with [bleep]es. Maces don't come with [bleep]es, because historically, clergymen who used maces were bound by oath to refrain from drawing blood. Wrong again. A pike is nothing more than a 16-foot-long piece of sharp wood. Supposed to be used en masse in defensive formations. Bloody useless on the offense if you're using it alone.
  6. I don't really care if it's fantasy, but the gunblade was one of the worst weapon ideas of all time. It far surpasses the poor quality of JAGeX's weapon design as it is.
  7. I don't see the need, actually. Under plate armour, you're wearing your underwear, clothes, leather padding and chainmail. That gets pretty damn hot pretty damn fast even in cold climates, and stays that way as long as you keep moving. As soon as you stop, the condensation starts to freeze and then you'll have problems. Warm clothing won't do anything to help that. You'll still sweat, and you won't effectively account for heat loss unless you're using modern-day synthetic materials or obscene amounts of animal hide. If anything, penalties should only apply in the desert. There's a reason why desert tribes never wore plate armour beyond the fact that they have little access to metals. That stuff will bake you in the sun.
  8. I've never been any good with hands. =\
  9. I quite like how it turned out. Constructive criticism is appreciated.
  10. Pencil. Paper. Scanner. Did it occur to anyone that you can use those for art?
  11. You have some points, but conservatism will continue to dictate the affairs of the country as long as there are people who are more willing to have their government tell them what is right or wrong. As well, the basis of conservative support lies in iconoclastic rural communities, while liberal thinkers tend to appear more in cities. It all has to do with the sharing of ideas. As long as the US still has backwater areas, it will have conservatives.
  12. This is hardly a point of discussion that hasn't already been done to death. Use the search function. Stop cluttering the board with two-line topics. Fix your sig, it exceeds TIF limits.
  13. ... Zing. Come on, at least come up with a reason for it. Don't bother posting ideas at all if all you're going to actually say is a one-liner.
  14. The lines that you base your shading on. Lineart doesn't mean the lines that show on the final product. It means the raw lines before you apply shading, which actually affects the end result by a lot. Currently, your lineart is the cause of a lot of the problems I mentioned above. As for the arrow, I meant a bodkin point, not a broadhead. Bah, all these equipment differences are too hard to explain in words. I'll draw up a guide.
  15. All the faces give me this idea of a receeding chin. Not good when you combine it with their blank expressions. Muscles are too defined. Try using subtle shading to bring them out, rather than huge dark lines. Also, avoid showing muscles through plate armour. The arrow nocked on the archer's bow should be sitting above the hand, and you'd do better if the arrowhead was actually a point. The hand that's holding the string looks out of whack as well. The archer's cape seems to be out of proportion, since it's blowing off to his right, I doubt that the left corner would actually go that far. I know that you don't like people saying this, but you really do need to work on your lineart.
  16. You really should smooth out the pauldrons (shoulder guards for the uneducated) because they'd be practically useless with all those extra protrusions. You don't need to define edges on the armour plating on the boots as well. Just make the whole thing out of curved metal plates. Personally, I'd stay away from Runescape design conventions if I wanted to draw armour.
  17. The usual deal. Comments, suggestions, constructive criticism but no ratings.
  18. The hell kind of sharks are you basing THAT off? Daemonic Doomfish of the Warp, Spawn of Khorne?
  19. Want to make your own roleplaying game? Dungeons and Dragons Online Roleplay Online Go nuts. Swipe ideas from some of the games listed there. They tend to have decent ideas.
  20. Get a team of stonemasons to erect a 30-foot-high stone wall around your house, complete with guard towers and barbican. If any sod wants to walk in and ask for treats, bring on the boiling pitch and oil. Or you could leave some meat out on the driveway for a few days. The smell would be vile.
  21. The violin solo in Ronan Hardiman's Lord of the Dance. Oh yeah.
  22. It would really rely on member co-operation, and that's something that Runescape lacks for the most part. There will be people who are in it just to push the prices up and make a quick buck.
  23. Zonorhc replied to Faux's topic in Off-Topic
Oh yeah, Elektra. That was poor as well.
  24. You mean you're going to lay into those kids with a SAW? God, spraying 7.62 NATO rounds is a little on the overkill side. :P
  25. A large axe should do the trick. Judicious application of sharp edges to the fleshy bits seems to be a particularly effective deterrent. Barring that, you might want to use any or none of the following: - Pit traps - Pit traps with punji sticks - Barbed wire - Claymore mines - A claymore - Fundamentalists - Pit bull terrier - The Dungeons and Dragons movie - Semtex stuffed into bamboo - Caltrops - Iradiated surroundings - A pike - Doom robots - Orbital death rays - Ninjas - Trogdor Or, answer the door while wearing a singlet (preferrably stained), short shorts, sandals and a brown paper bag with just the neck of a bottle sticking out the top. Appear as thoroughly irritated as possible, and make sure that the kids get a full view of an assortment of violent-looking objects behind you. Oh yeah, fill a super soaker with urine. Aim for clothing as much as possible, especially wool.
