Webcams can be faked. I've seen people go on Webcam, but turn out to be recorded feeds from Stickam. If you did have to resort to internet dating - use a phone, and always cease contact if they ask for anything remotely sexual. Saying that, I met my first girlfriend on Neopets (we lasted 2 years), and we were relatively happy. We lived 100 miles apart, but visited every weekend. I then, seven months after breaking up, met my current girlfriend on the Internet - who happens to live in the same city as me. I see her twice a week. Runescape dating is a silly idea, though. It's almost as bad as trying to get a girlfriend on Teenchat.

Strictly speaking, that is not true. There are plenty of references to Paganism - Runecrafting is one of the more obvious ones.

I'm not certain - being an Asatruar, I don't know much about the other forms of alternative religion. I focus primarily on Germanic NeoPaganism.

Germanic Paganism. In Norse Cosmology, there are worlds such as: Álfheim, in which elves reside. Goblins and Dragons are mentioned in many Norse poems, and I seem to recall a mention of Goblins in one of the Eddas, also.

I think it's somewhat associated with Paganism - because it's a fantasy game - and modern fantasy games ALL seem to take after Paganism. (Elves, Goblins, Dragons, and the likes). I don't think it was done on purpose, because they liked the Pagan Gods - it's just the norm for fantasy games.

From reading these posts, has anyone in here actually got the idea of the topic? We're discussing WHETHER Runescape is influenced by Paganism, and then going on to find out what aspects of Runescape are Pagan influenced. We're not meant to be discussing whether or not you believe in the Pagan gods, or whether you are Christian, or a Muslim, or a Hindu, or whatever.

That "Jesus" message was not me. Regardless - his post was completely off-topic. We don't care if he doesn't believe in Religion - this thread is about whether or not Runescape is influenced by Paganism.

It depends what form of Paganism - it's a term used by modern society to refer to any religion that at the time, did not worship Christ, or Allah, or other mainstream religions. Paganism varied country to country - with different rituals and rules. Paganism, in itself, is a generalisation.

Runescape has a lot of similiarities to Germanic Neopaganism - this, however, does not make it a pagan game - but people here need to relax. You weren't suggesting it was. The God of Wisdom for example - the evil Trickster God, Using Runes for Magic, Goblins, Giants, Dwarves... It's silly to say it doesn't take any ideas from Asatru. I'm an Asatru myself - I don't worship the Runescape Gods, however. That's silly, as they are just fantasy. There is no real life material to even suggest that anyone has ever worshipped them, and it is a well known fact that they are created by a Corporation. I worship Woden primarily, and then Thor's secondary. I sometimes honour other Gods, if I am in need of some good luck. (Freyja or Freyr if I'm having Relationship problems, for example). That's pretty offensive. You know - Science is just a theory too? ;)

There is a chance you'd be able to do it - with mage.. However, bring some teleportation runes just in case you get slaughtered.

I did it at Level 53, and used up all my lobsters - and had a final HP of 3. O_o

Another question - What would be the quickest way for me to get to 40 mage? Price is not an issue.

I've been a member for about 4 days, and I've been working on getting some of my skills up. I'm aware there are many more methods to earn money in P2P, than F2P. My stats: Combat:: Attack: 50 Defense: 49 Strength: 50 Prayer: 34 Range: 7 Magic: 39 HP: 49 Summoning: 4 Slayer: 29 Raw material related:: Mining: 60 Fishing: 44 Woodcutting: 37 Misc:: Thieving: 4 Herblore: 10 Agility: 15 Crafting: 41 Firemaking: 22 Hunter: 1 Farming: 1 Construction: 8 Is creating enchanted jewelary profitable? I'm asking, because I want to find a way to earn a little money, while earning magic XP on the side. Obviously, I don't want this to be my main source of income. What would be best for me? Thanks. I was wondering if there are any experienced members who are willing to chat on MSN, about various questions I might have.
