  1. Re-bound prom 2h seeing as i've been suicide keying lots. Oh how i love dging and hate training attack. :| started boss as soon as it was found, lolwat.
  2. We were planning on stealing his name, but then the clan chat update came so we had no need to do that.
  3. Ezkaton you sat at dae for the past 5 floors I just did with 4 people below like 90 dg. I was advertising for a 5th for a while, too.
  4. 16-May-2011 Lava Flow Mine Players who have completed King of the Dwarves will already have seen the Lava Flow Mine, where the dwarves of Keldagrim have tapped into channels of liquid rock in order to power their citys machinery. The lava flows require constant tending to keep the power supply steady, and the new king has finally decided to let humans into the mine to help out. The Lava Flow Mine allows miners to gain a good rate of XP without producing any ore (although you have a chance of finding gems). You can mine anywhere in the area, but you get the maximum rate of XP by consulting the flow gauges and finding the place where the lava is flowing most slowly. A few random events will pop up from time to time, and keeping an eye out for them could net you additional rewards. Boilers will break, and you can fix them for Smithing XP if you have the required level. Mischievous ancestor spirits will make off with the dwarves pickaxes, and catching them will give you a temporary bonus to Mining XP in the area. If you help the Tzhaar hero on his endless quest to catch a lava monster, everyone in the area will have an increased chance of finding gems. Finally, the Liquid Gold Nymph may take pity on your dull clothes and give you pieces of an outfit so eye-achingly flamboyant that it grants a bonus to Mining XP everywhere in the world the complete outfit grants a total Mining XP bonus of 2.5%. Mod John A Senior RuneScape Content Developer Summary: Where to find the Lava Flow Mine: Go through the entrance in the east wall of Keldagrim. Requirements to use the Lava Flow Mine: Must have completed King of the Dwarves. Bring your own pickaxe. In other news... We've made a number of fixes and improvements to RuneScape's clan support and the Clan Camp. For a full list of these changes, please read this release's patch notes. The image of the world map in the Downloads & Wallpapers section of the website has been brought up to date.
  5. It's still completely pointless on such a fast boss + it drains your prayer.
  6. http://forum.tip.it/topic/292980-mithril-dragons/
  7. Pkgezza has 99 att/str - he should have a prom 2h bound (or a primal baxe). A maul is perfectly acceptable bind when your attack level is 20 levels lower than your str level - game's mixes up his own preferences with that of the cc guidelines. He himself won't take anyone with a maul (which is up to his own judgement), but we do allow maul binds when people have certain levels.
  8. Do f2pers have 3rd binds? If they do, gaunts are also an offensive bind & like you said dromoleather body is also offensive if you have a bow as your 2nd.
  9. There's exactly one monster that magic is better than spear against. Level 80+ warriors in argonite. He shows up once every few in a large and almost never in smalls. Fracite arrows are weaker than mith arrows. There isn't a single monster that can be out DPSed by ranged. Some bosses are more convenient to range but nevertheless it's rare that you end up using ranged at all. So why not bind magic for when you do run into an argonite+ warrior? Say you're being attacked by a ranger and a meleer in a gd - > Safespot the meleer in between spear hits by hiding behind the ranger. 0 time wasted. This can be applied to so many different situations and in many different ways, it just makes plate seem like such a waste of a bind. Praying accordingly in gds helps too. I could go in more depth to this but I assume you get the general gist (if you don't already apply these tactics yourself, that is.) Edit for your edit: if they're so low level what is the point in even binding a plate in the first place?
  10. Rapier, 38 str, 2.4 seconds per hit, aggressive mode: DPS 75.0 2H, 80 str, 3.6 seconds per hit, aggressive mode : DPS 70.0 Spear, 67 str, 3.0 seconds per hit, controlled mode : DPS 75.3 Consider that most f2p bosses are weak to stab, the spear's most accurate attack style. Ok then that's spear sorted assuming you're correct. Fire staff/catalytic staff? Longbow/shortbow? Offensive binds will always trump defensive binds in dg unless you're keying on a bad team in p2p. How different do you think p2p dg is to f2p dg? You're acting like you can't apply the same techniques to avoid damage in p2p to f2p. I also speak from experience and about 4x more than nufftuff (I didn't want to go into that, but you cant seem to get past it.) By what you're saying, f2pers enter a dungeon and are presented with unsafespotable/unkitable/unlureable/unprayable-against monsters. It doesn't take experience in f2p to know that's not true.
  11. Why not consider a rapier + 2h combo? I haven't really looked into the actual stats without zerker rings, but I can see it being a good bind setup in f2p. Yes soulsplit & higher healing food helps, but like i've said in the dgs thread - Kiting, luring, safespotting & avoiding damage by praying correctly are the real ways to save yourself hp. A platebody is just a lazy way to do this and in the end hurts your dungeoneering experience as you get slower floors by only binding 1 offensive weapon. As for nufftuffmage's response - you think my opinion is hot air because i'm p2p. That's fine for you to think but if you want an open discussion on binds, leave your prejudices at the door. Dismissing my opinion because of who I am and not the content in them is a bad way to go.
  12. Are the monsters in f2p all level 300+ and unsafespotable, unlureable and unkitable? Last time I checked, they're not. I'm having trouble understanind why you think you need a plate that offers only a tiny bit more crush defence a rune platebody is a better bind that something that speeds up your dungeons by a lot (rapier/bow/staff (although bow may not be worth binding with a rapier, seeing as most things weak to range are also weak to stab.)
  13. Not really caring enough to read back 3 pages of plate vs spear, I'd say a fractite plate is a waste of a bind. It only has a slightly better crush bonus than a rune platebody & doesn't really offer you anything to speed up your dungeons. Saying "it speeds up your dungeons because you don't have to eat as much food" is laughable - You're talking about saving a few seconds when your platebody bind limits you to only spear or 2h? The time saved by binding say, rapier + 2h is far more than you lose by having to eat 1-2 more pieces of food (to add to that, food consumption is decided by using the right prayers, prioritizing things in gds, kiting, safespoting & luring - all things you won't learn by having a plate bound.) What are the normal bind setups for the higher leveled f2p dg clans (if they exist)?
  14. I automatically assumed dgs was right when i first heard that... So dont think I didnt think it through. And idk how high your skills are to sympathise with me but i'm often made to solo the odd room... and i can definitely see the benefits of a platebody. Being a keyer without a platebody who had used one for a good while, I can say having a plate did not stop me from dying in rape rooms. Like I said, it delays your death. Being able to kite/lure/safespot monsters is far more useful than a platebody - and hey, that only takes some knowledge of the game and not a bind spot! It really doesn't take that much effort to not die in a dungeon unless you encounter a rape room where platebody or no platebody, you're going to die unless you get the team there. The time saved by binding a plate is subjective, too - If you're in a dg that has almost 0 rooms where a platebody is useful you're wasting your bind, whereas if you do that same dg with a bneck/hex/gaunts/rapier/ccstaff, you're going to be saving time no matter what. A platebody in my eyes is a waste of a bind (with the exception of keyers). This is the problem like I just said - a plate's usefulness is subjective on the team, dungeon, and luck. An offensive bind will always benefit you no matter what. It's still completely subjective on the dungeon layout and team quality.
  15. In the really bad rape rooms, having a plate is only going to delay your death - i'd much rather speed up the dungeon than waste time having a plate.
  16. Hey I used to think blood necklace was better then platebody. Then after a friend told me that plate was considered better by most 120+ dg'ers I thought about it. Lol, that is the worst way to decide on your binds. Actual evidence and facts on which speeds up dungeons more? Nah, let me just ask what most people use. Just because most people who grind to 120 bind something, does not make it good. The only person I'll accept binding a plate is a keyer. For non keyers, plates are not worth binding and are really just a waste of a bind. Yes plate has it's benefits to keyers, but non keyers (even those with high total) should still keep an offensive bind as they spend most of their time doing gds and aren't usually tanking an entire room of things. Anyways, what does that have to do with learning to make dino armour lossless-ly?
  17. You should still learn to make dino armour losslessly, it's good for the keyer to have some form of armour (assuming they're not a platebeard.)
  18. Uh, entgallow trap? Tipsi, you use t1 traps for dinos. (or whatever log you get dropped from a monster if you havent bought a tangle gum at the start.)
  19. It's actually better & quicker to mage necrolord. Iirc, fire surge with t10 blitzer is better than a gravecreeper longbow/shortbow with sag arrows - not to mention making runes is quicker + most people have a csb bound. You can remove the cooking/firemaking requirement as cooking/fishing is never done in good floors. 99 craft + 90 hunting are good, but not needed. A more realistic level would be 89 /80 assuming you have a hex bound. The farming requirement is way too high, nobody ever makes rejuvs - 84 for lycos makes much more sense. Woodcutting is alright but not really needed unless you have the rc level for emp fires. Fletching should be 78 for gravecreeper staves. Rc 80 for emp fires.
  20. Then I suggest if you honestly want to be heard - act professional. I can tell you from experience that You guys have acted like a lynch mob the past few pages. As someone who actually sympathized to a degree with the situation you guys had, your actions and attitude has turned me off majorly. Also - How the piss do you document a phone call anyways? xD ~Das The thing was (and is) that for darkdude to have had contact with jagex and for them to confirm that the scripts were indeed illegal, some form of written communication had to happen.. He failed to give us any evidence other than him saying "yeah, they're illegal, i've contacted jagex." And from what has come up in the deleted posts "contacting jagex" could simply have been him saying they're illegal (i'll say no more because i'd prefer this discussion not be deleted too.)
  21. Grimy's opinion on this does not represent mine - I'm only here on tif because I care about dgs.
  22. Good job on missing the point, das. All we asked to see what jagex had to say on the issue - Darkdude failed to do that for whatever reasons (i'll not post them here because last time I did that, my posts were deleted.)
  23. wait you're supposed to pick up the keys? Phew, thank god I had read this advanced guide.
  24. Because spending 5 minutes to make an account is such a pain, right?
