Almost Got Scammed? Want To Tell Your Story? Post It Here!
Flamanos replied to The_Sith's topic in General Discussion
Here's a scam I ran into while playing on my f2p spare... Scammer: Follow for 100k! Me: *follows them wanting to see what the obvious scam is* Scammer: *walks me from lumbridge to the wizard tower dungeon* Scammer: Ok, first you have to say my name. Me: Why? Scammer: Just do it Me: Ok... *says username* Scammer: Ok, now you have to dance Me: Ughhh... *does dance emote* Scammer: Ok, now last thing you have to do is kill a wizard. Me: *knowing this is a way to kill low levels* Ok... Me: *kills a wizard using food I had with me and full iron* Scammer: Um... Kill another wizard without food this time. Me: But you just said that was the last thing? Scammer: I need you to kill one more. I can help you kill it if you're close to dieing I promise! Me: No you can't... this isn't a multicombat zone. Scammer: No, I promise I can! Me: Fine... *kills another wizard through extreme luck even though I would have eaten if I had gotten weak* Scammer: You used food! Me: No I didn't... Scammer: Um, kill one last wizard I swear. Me: Can I see if you even have 100k? Scammer: Look! *puts up trade* Scammer: *is offering a sapphire* Me: Um... I've got to go... excuse me... Scammer: Wait don't leave! You want 100k?!? Me: No... Reported *reports for scamming* Me: Oh... and I'd like to see you kill one of those wizards... lol Obviously I corrected the spelling and grammar of the scammer a lot... and kinda gave every little detail. lol -
My favorite quests were either... Cold War- I loved the concept of the quest, the characters involved in it, and the fact that you there is finally another animal in the game to talk to, but doesn't require an amulet! Also, the "Needs more cowbell." was the single greatest quote that they could have implemented into the quest. Or... Underground Pass- I completed this quest at a relativly low level because I wanted to get to regicide so I could use my dragon halberd. (Even though if I did I wouldn't have the attack level to weild it) This quest was disturbing, scary, and made me a little nervous with all of the "DEATH SHALL COME TO ALLesque" phrases that would appear as you went through the quest" It also offered the greatest challenge to me out of all of the quests I've done so far, because of the skills I had at the time that I completed it.

I may have just overlooked these guys going through here before. But I currently can't reach them. They're in the Dorgesh-Kaan agility course in an area you can only access through grappling. I tried the Runescape knowledge base but found nothing on them, and I've checked with a few freinds who have the quest cape and they've never heard of them... So... who are these guys, what are they for, and what does the mage give you if you pickpocket him? (Taken in the Dorgesh-kaan agility arena)

I have to agree with you... they've gotten progressively worse in the humor area... I need to fix that and stop trying to rush things... Thanks for the tip! :D -
An unlikely theory on the bard skill rumors.
Flamanos replied to Flamanos's topic in General Discussion
Just to respond to the people saying that I wasted a lot of time doing this... this took like 5 minutes while I was killing experiments... so It's not like I've got too in depth. And yes, if you read above I said that this is incredibly unlikely... So it's not like I'm saying! OMG ITS GUNNA BE NEW SKILL GET READY!... I was more or less pointing out a coincidence. Oh, and I do agree with a lot of people... bard skill, no matter what abilites it would give... seems kind of lame. -
(Please read the entire post before responding please...) Ok, let me get this out of the way before reading on... I DO NOT NECISSARILY BELIEVE THIS TO BE TRUE, IT IS JUST A STUPID POSSIBILITY... considering Jagex probably popped these numbers and names off of the top of their head right before making the postbag from the hedge. Ok, as many people have read by now there is a rumor among the forum that a possible bard skill could be release do to a message saying "Look out for other musical updates later this month." or something along those lines. People believe that this is a sign for a bard skill because the month construction was released the main hint was that we would be able to sit in chairs. Well... with the end of July being yesterday a lot of people have believed that the possibility of the skill coming out soon is unlikely... But during some spare time I read through the postbag from the hedge and an idea struck me... "What if they meant this by the months of Runescape?" A letter to Reldo was sent in this edition of the postbag from the hedge asking how the Runescape calender was arranged... *go take a look if you want to confirm or disprove the numbers I found* Although I myself find this very unlikely as will most of you, I would just like to point out some things I found out. -Both the Runescape Calender and The Real Calender have 365 days... -As of today, (August 1st) we are on the 213th day of the year... -Assuming that the real life calender and the Runescape calender are on the same day but with a different month system, then Runescape is currently in the month of Fentuary... -The start of Fentuary is the 181st day of the year, and the update message that is being used to support a bard skill was released on the 184th day of the year. -Although July is over, Fentuary does not end until the 219th day of the year... Perhaps the release of a bard skill is still possible if Jagex is trying to mess with us and use Runescape months instead of real months? I realize that that issue of the postbag from the hedge was not released until yesterday, but who knows how long they spend before hand preparing it? Maybe they saved this letter for this specific moment just to mess with us? Maybe I'm a schizophrenic dolphin covered in applesauce? Maybe zaros is really zamorak?... we do not know... But these are possiblities at hand... stupid possibilities... Jagex may be trying to mess with us on an EPIC level... ( LAY - MAN'Z Terms for those of you who don't want to read: The month on the runescape calender isn't over) If you read the entire thing... be proud... and post your opinion. NO FLAMING NO CALLING ME AN IDIOT NO POSTING IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE ENTIRE THEORY ... BUT PLEASE POST IF YOU FIND ANY ERROR WITHIN THE MATH I DID (That would be very helpful)

For a while Jagex has been going through and updating the graphics for a wide variety of monsters. Whether zombie, goblin, demon, duck, or rat no monster was left out if it was in the group being updated... or was something left out? Experiments... the highly trained upon level 25 and 51 monsters have fallen under these categories in one way or another but haven't updated! There are 3 types of experiments... 1. The level 25 sheep/wolves. Both sheep and wolves have recieved a graphical update, but this lonely experiment was left out even after both were updated. 2. The level 25 Spiders/Men. Spiders have been updated yet once again this poor expirement was forgotten. 3. The level 51 Wolves/Women. Just like the sheep/wolves above another instance of a part wolf not being updated. I believe this is sad that such highly viewed monsters must remain in the graphical looks of past monsters. Who's with me? Experiments are people too!

After reading this thread I felt the urge to log in and post. I myself am 15 also and have been playing Runescape for over a year and a half. In the beginning of playing the game I was incredibly hooked on it and wanted badly to skip school to play. The difference between me and the kid featured in the article is that I didn't skip school. I admit, I do not know the details of the kid's life and what could have played into causing him to recluse from his family and friends, but at the time I began Runescape I was still in depression over the death of my father 2 years before and I found Runescape as a way to escape from reality. However, I continued to keep obligations I had to keep care of the house and care for my pets how ever much I wanted to play. When school began again at the end of summer I still continued to do my homework and keep my grades above B's all year even though I would count the minutes until I could play Runescape. So, although Runescape can be incredibly addicting, I believe that with self control a person has the ability to not let an online game interfere with their life. Many may say that I have too high of standards of people and that I just got lucky and wasn't addicted, but I personally believe that the kid in the article is weak minded and should be smacked and banned from the internet by his incompitent parents. Oh, and yet another instance of the media slandering video games for a problem when the real issue is the lack of common sense, intelligence, self control, or parental responsibilty held by the person who has had their life damaged.

Ok... between the fact that I got a Wii and ... this was very hard to finish, It took me a while to get this done. This has nothing to do with what's going on in the comic, but It's a pretty nice filler nonetheless. H.A.M. Man's Guide To Imitating Noobs So you notice the bite marks huh?... yeah... those guides just taste so good when your starving to death... -

And some iron knives Only things that anybody with a combat level of 3 could obtain... *idea has just struck for a new comic!* Hm... This'll make a good filler! -

Sorry for the lack of update over the last few days! I had company at my house and didn't have a chance to play runescape. So to make up for that here's a new episode! ... The Black Scimitar joke may be kind of hard to get if you haven't been in Ardougne Castle much. [hide= Episode 11][/hide] -

Lol, well if you run around in world 99 and run into me working on a comic then your in luck! So far any person who has been featured other than me was an NPC or Some random person running through the screen... lol -
My top 5 skills are... 74 Agility- I'm going for 99 in that skill because few people try, and I love the emote the cape gives you! 71 Fishing- I'm trying to get to a point where I can fish sharks for gp. 70 Defense- To wield barrows and other such equipment. 70 Attack- To wield barrows weapons... 69 Woodcutting- I used it as a way to train firemaking a fletching for free.

Lol. once on my spare account named "Ivory Rapier" which is the account I play while I'm waiting for my members to be re-implimented, someone in a F2P world reported me for saying that my name was a bad thing and that it could make people feel scared... ... Let's get something straight... Rapier = A slender sword used for fencing... not a rapist... >.<
