Higher lvl required for cooking guild
Heh - I would agree if there was anything of worth inside the cooking guild. But since RFD, the basement in Lumby Castle is the de facto cooking guild.

They get minimum wage for a reason........
It's not just minimum wagers... I once was in a courthouse somewhere in the USA... they were talking on the phone to some poor tech support guy about the computer eating their floppies... I watched as this old fart slid a floppy disk into a crack between the two drives in his PC... "it just ate another one!" I suppose the inside of the case would have eventually gotten full... 100% TRUE STORY

Why are there yew trees in F2P?
Just remember... you asked for it. No, gold farmers commonly use low-level accounts to do all the work. Twenty different people in an internet cafe may work a shift chopping wood. At the end of the day, it all either gets traded to a boss or drop traded to a different account. Drop trading is a way of sidestepping Jagex' scrutiny. If there is no legitimate trade screen, then there is no record of said trade and Jagex can't trace the real-world trader back to his supplier. Jagex needs to stop playing whack-a-mole with the traders and just poison the well. This is where you and your ilk keep missing the point (or denying the obvious). The slippery slope fallacy once again: autoers and farmers might move to something else, therefore we must accept the status quo and let them have the yews. Not acceptable. It's not necessarily a bot behind that level-3. If Jagex' bot detection is so good, then how do so many bots elude the net? Hint: not all level-3s are automated. Catching on yet? The price would only go up as high as people were willing to pay. Personally, I'll cut my own before I pay 250 each. I do believe Jagex can keep P2P mostly clean, maybe not 100% but not the apocalyptic levels you and yours keep warning about. These are basically the same points that have been made time and time again in this thread; I fail to see why you thought your specific phrasings merited detailed rebuttals. I have said it all before.

Why are there yew trees in F2P?
I never once suggested deleting f2p. I am a member right now, but I go back and forth between the two, depending on how busy real life is. And guess what? Your argument is a classic fallacy also: a thinly-veiled argumentum ad hominem. As for the whole slippery slope inflation fallacy that is popular here, you are only half right. Most people would not want to pay those kind of prices for raw materials. Guess what would happen? People would learn to do for themselves if they wanted to keep their coins.

Erhm... you can get duplicates, as I just found out: "You already have this information in your logbook." Which could really stretch this thing out.

Barbarian Training Drops Thread
If you don't like math, just go to the Bandit Camp in the wild or to Razmire's store in Mort'ton. Both pay the high alch prices for items they don't have in stock (which is why Shade Burning is so profitable).

3 July - Barb training
I want to know where the agility part of this dungeon is. These skeletons are not dropping pairs of mith grapples for no reason...

Ancient Pages *Updated List*
The skeletons drop them - and I believe you can snag them while rummaging bodies also. Here's one you are missing: ... I learned my lesson when I tried to take that Zamorkian wine. I really think the monks overreacted. I always thought they were supposed to be teetotal anyway.

iPhone:Worth the $600?
$600 A year of runescape = $5 * 12 = $60. So that's 10 years of RuneScape. You can also feed a lot of kids for $600. :D I think this cartoon about sums up the iPhone.

Why are there yew trees in F2P?
Gold farmers aren't using macros. They are real-live human beings playing level-3 characters for real-world profit. Sinking in yet? I will use it as often as I see the fallacy going on. Feel free to skip the thread if you don't like it. Jagex does a good job of thinning macroers and real-world traders from the P2P side. They obviously don't have the resources to police all of F2P too. So make F2P useless to gold farmers. Who cares if it drives away thousands of gold-farming accounts? Child, don't patronize me.

Why are there yew trees in F2P?
Well, some people are dead certain that if there are no yews for autoers, that those autoers would move to ores and fishes to make money. For the rest of you: why must you keep addressing only macroers? You all keep posting your solutions that will take care of all the autoers - but it's not just autoers that are the problem. I am stuck on a thread full of Cleopatras - denial, denial, denial.

Why are there yew trees in F2P?
The "economy" is not some sacred thing that has to preserved as is. F2P characters aren't entitled to make piles of money. P2P characters aren't entitled to purchase piles of yews @ 300 each. You honestly don't need that much money in the trial portion of the game. Capping F2P is an intriguing idea, but I don't totally agree. If some F2P player wants to 99 wc on oaks or normal trees, more power to him. It's all the real-world trading and drop trading that I am against. I do not base my opinions on whether the majority of people agree. Please see: argumentum ad populum, since you can't seem to be troubled to read the entire thread.

Why are there yew trees in F2P?
Ah yes, the dreaded "domino effect." As has been stated earlier in the thread (scroll back), I also think f2p mining should stop at iron ore, and f2p fishing can be capped at pike. Any skill you can come up that might be ruined by the dreaded "domino," I can come up with a cap. So that's really a fruitless line of reasoning. The crux of the matter is: I think the avenues for moneymaking on the trial version of the game should be limited - and most of you don't.

Uncooking - Hidden Skill or Sick Joke?
I don't mean that uncooking a fish would knock your cooking xp down. I mean Uncooking as a separate xp number on your character.

The way you uncook the fishlike thing - use it on the blue stones.

Uncooking - Hidden Skill or Sick Joke?
I got snagged by Evil Bob today, and I just happened to have a cooked tuna on me. So I tried to "uncook" it on the pot and I got this cryptic message: Please note that it takes level 30 Cooking to cook a tuna and level 50 Uncooking to make one raw again. Is this a sick joke from Planet Jagex or is it actually possible to "uncook" fish? Anyone with first-hand experience? I intend to start carrying a cooked shrimp around with me to test this.

Why are there yew trees in F2P?
This is a very flawed analogy. F2P doesn't require yews in order for people to test drive the game. You can learn to woodcut, and train woodcutting very effectively on lesser trees that don't generate nearly as much runescape gold. I do wish you guys would stop hiding behind that macroer excuse, because it still isn't just about macroers.

Banning of nazi symbols
Here's a real world problem: Collectors who spent good money on Third Reich memorabilia can no longer sell the items on eBay. Nor can they buy items to add to their collections. Search for 'Nazi' on this page at eBay. Which to me seems to be stupid. The symbol isn't inherently evil; the regime behind it was the problem.

It's still not just about bots. Thanks for not reading the thread before making a post.

Why are there yew trees in F2P?
Actually, it's against the Suggestion forum rules because it's technically a "free to play update" and that's on the Do Not Suggest sticky. But why worry whether Jagex mods close it? I was under the impression some of them read *these* forums surreptitiously. Whether a Jmod approves of the topic is hardly a measure of whether said topic is a good idea or not. ;-) If Andrew Gower himself told me he thought it was a bad idea, I would disagree. I disagree with a lot of the ways Jagex does things.

Why are there yew trees in F2P?
I can post this on the Jagex boards, but since f2p can't post there, the discussion may be biased. There is also the problem we all know exists on Jagex forums - posts scoll off quickly. This is not a matter of victory or defeat. My idea is a great idea that rubs the gold farming industry the wrong way. This notion of f2p entitlement to a massive stream of wealth simply has to turn around.
