A little question concerning smithing.
It's more useless than you realize. The painful truth about Varrock Armor. Actually, it's good for mining.

A little question concerning smithing.
You don't get double bars with the Varrock armor ever. What you get is that sometimes it will smelt 2 bars at once. But it also uses 2 sets of ores. It just occasionally lets you smelt more quickly; it doesn't magically give you an extra bar.

77 smith: what's best method to 99?
I use my Miscellenia Kingdom as a coal source. I buy iron ore in bulk. I them smelt steel bars and sell them. I use that money to buy iron bars. 10,000 steel bars if I smithed them: 375,000 xp (10,000 * 37.5) or 10,000 steel bars sold for 625 each: 6,250,000 gp Iron bars bought for 250 each: 25,000 25,000 iron bars if I smith them: 625,000 xp (25,000 * 25) I always sell the higher level bars to other people and buy iron to get the most xp I can for my money.

9 October 2007 - Back to my Roots quest
You get the seed back every time, doesn't work like the others where you have to get a new one every time. I can get 20 or so tomatoes for each allotment plot. That means I only have to have 15 tomato seeds to get the same farming xp as the jade vine. And getting 15 tomato seeds is like falling off a log. The 2500 slayer xp is not bad. The 1500 farming xp is obviously meant to impress the farming haters who won't get XP any other way.

1500 farming on a daily basis is pretty weak. That's the same as about 100 tomatoes, 28 watermelons, or 1 willow tree. I expect a little more from a Master Quest.

The answer to the ring of wealth questions-
Yes, there is some improvement in drops when wearing a ROW. Jagex has stated it numerous times. But the amount of improvement is what is always questioned. There is a big difference in what Jagex thinks to be a worthwhile improvement and what you and I think to be a worthwhile improvement. Here is a quote from the Kbase: Many people would rather wear a ring of life instead.

For the record, I was not damaged at all by the diary. I did speak to Zavistic Rarve before I tried to open it; might make a difference, might not. My vine has grown, but it's still a baby compared to the one Horacio planted.

There is a small room above the Hairdresser in Falador that might be what you are looking for. (FWIW, some people use small rooms to train agility with toy mice).

How do I Convert protected WMA. music files into MP3?
Straight from the Audacity pages at Sourceforge:

How do I Convert protected WMA. music files into MP3?
iTunes will only convert unprotected WMAs. How come that my Maiden cd Dance of Death (copy protected), was possible to convert the songs into mp3 files? CD != WMA Music CDs have been since 1982; WMA was developed in 1999. The music CDs you buy in a store don't contain WMA files. The basic truth is, most WMA files have DRM in them and iTunes won't let you bypass it.

iTunes will only convert unprotected WMAs.

~|Fastest F2P Smelting Spot?|~
The only way to beat Al Kharid in F2P is to superheat in the bank lobby. Superheating in the bank lobby is also fastest in P2P. It's an expensive proposition, though.

2 October 2007 - Cutting Edge(ville) + shop improvement
I have noticed a problem when buying from player stock. I like to go to busy worlds and buy stuff from the general stores - things people sell when they are clearing bank space. This morning, I went to Varrock store on World 4 to buy ores and gems. I was clearly clicking on "buy emerald" - and I checked this out multiple times on all types of popular items. But if someone else has the quicker finger, they get the item first. That's not the problem. The problem is, the shop then sells you the item that moves into its place on the bank tab. So I might try to buy an emerald, and end not getting my transaction in quickly enough to get the emerald. But I would get, say, goblin mail instead. There seems to be a large gap in the buying/selling transaction where the item can change right under your nose. And it wasn't this way before... I submitted this as a bug, but I thought you might want to be wary if you rummage through the stores (as I do).

They've changed the store buy prices also. No longer do you get to sell the first 50 items at the high price.

2 October 2007 - Cutting Edge(ville) + shop improvement
Buy-X! =D> No Sell-X, but Sell-50 is a step in the right direction. And my man Aubry has infinite deaths and chaos! And Oziach has infinite rune plates... #-o And Fat Tony has infinite pizza bases! \ As a test, I sold 50 iron plates to Noterazzo (Bandit Camp Store) and got 16800 - 336 each - that is the high alch price for 50 plates. The price on the 51st was 56, so it does drop off (in increments of 50 it seems). So I tried this at Horvicks, and he paid me 16800 for 50 also. I thought the Bandit Camp was the only shop that did that in F2P. That has to be a bug. (I do have Varrock Plate #3, but I am not wearing it - and it shouldn't work on a free server anyway).

From the Development Diary: We are not talking solely about tinderboxes, buckets and pots here. Who makes money off of merchanting tinderboxes, buckets and pots? Show of hands, please?

1 October 2007 - Behind the Scenes - October
I think you guys are underestimating the updates this month. If Jagex sets an item to infinite stock and then sets the store price, they have basically taken the economy out of the hands of the merchants. This shop update thing is not about chisels, buckets and shears. If you can buy 1000 bronze bars at Jemima's, 1000 nats at Aubry's or 1000 staffs at Zaff's, why would you buy them from a merchant? This is going to rock the pseudo-skill of merchanting to its core.

I am looking forward to seeing how the Shop Improvement plays out. Infinite stock of nature runes at the stores? Let's cross our fingers... Buying non-stackable objects as notes... Dare I hope  Selling more than 10 items at a time to the store? Gawd I hope so...
