  1. I'm just worried the mages will tear through his low def :P
  2. It works for cursing and the higher level variety, which is a little more costy but comparable to alching (mud staff + full SC melee outfit and you just pay for the body/soul rune).
  3. well yes, getting 99 attack, 99 strength and 70 prayer (and piety) would snatch back the advantage relative to combat level.
  4. Blood barrage is really good xp if you have money to waste, since in addition to the already good xp of damaging 9 players at once, you get zeal with which you can buy mage xp (spend in 100s since you'll get a 10% bonus). EDIT: I've also heard about 'stun alching', when you stun something/someone in full sacred clay melee armour to get mage -65 and double xp, and alch while casting Stun. It's very costy, however if you find a friend who does the same you can find a private spot somewhere in BH wildy and get drop potential. If you then 26k trick you might get drops to compensate. However I still think blood burst/barrage at SW is better XP.
  5. Slave robe obviously. EDIT: Also afro and a bronze sq shield.
  6. Oh yeah. Whatever you buy, never, EVER get volatile tools. They give 2,2x xp rather than 2x, but they change back after half an inventory of whatever you're obtaining/processing, and it's just a pain to skill with. Always get morphic if any.
  7. Summoning doesn't affect combat level in pvp? Also, while hard, it is definitely possible to be competitive with any stats. While there ARE people around with ridiculous stats, they can't KO you in less than 3 seconds so you can always teleport away if you're being attacked with dragon claws or dark bow. Another option is to find a team... if you work together with people you can trust you can risk much more compared to going solo. If you do go solo, make sure you risk your minimum, use DDS or something more expensive (if you do, keep protect item on AT ALL TIMES). Make sure you have a super restore or prayer pot, restore being preferred because it 'comboes' with sara brews of which you should have at least 4. Rest filled with either sharks or monkfish. For armour, a rune set will do, though you could try Dharoking if you're really confidant (pj'ers ruin your day, though). If you get teleblocked, you just met someone with a 99 stat. Run.
  8. While definitely less profitable, ZMI is still faster than crafting nats at any level.
  9. Lunar teleport (ourania) is greatly advised rather than running to the bank. Ring of Duelling or Glory Ammy to bank. For optimal xp you shouldn't have extra space devoted to food. Also, is there any reason you are only 50 def? Otherwise, just train it before going to the ZMI. I'm not sure how much you could survive with your current level, just go there with no items, do a run without armor, and see with how much hp remaining you survive. If they hurt you much and you don't want to train defence, wear granite shield and addy or better armour to tank the rangers, then pray mage while running by, trying to evade the melee'ers. However, your run % will go down very fast without a high agility level (how far you can run per % depends greatly on your agility).
  10. Depends on what you want to train, really :P I personally like the hats, transforming it into a mage hat to get double xp for magic and either cast damage spells in minigames such as Fist of Guthix or Soul Wars. Another option is to wear full sacred clay (melee), (mystic) mud (battle)staff and snakeskin boots/black d'hide vambraces and use the highest level body rune/soul rune spell you have. You will splash every spell and get the most out of your rune investments. I've also used Sacred Clay to make Fletching knifes, hammers for smithing and construction, and hatchets for willow chopping. I'm also addicted to the game, especially one-iteming with a class 4 or 5 dagger, or just making runes and using ancient magicks to bother every skiller or lower level account. Thieving is also a huge part of SC and I tend to either stay away from fog banks, or stay in one and either pickpocket or ice burst whoever passes by :). I don't really see the items I get as costing me time, because I'm enjoying SC so much. Heck, I'm going for 80 hunter and thieving atm solely for Stealing Creation! EDIT: Just remember that wearing a full set DOES NOT give more xp the moment they're used. They merely last longer. It is advised to get, for example, an SC coif and wear full dragonhide while training.
  11. Hello all, I'd like to invite everyone to join the clan chat of player mod Light Arcana. It's a Runescape Help Chat and you can ask every game-related question here. If you're ever stuck with a quest, treasure trail, where you can find an item or place, or just want to hang out, Light Arcana is the place for you! Player mods often hang out here and when there aren't questions flying around we can have a bit of a chat about any topic at all except religion, politics, or something offensive - use common sense here! Questions are formatted thus: ### ? You can also type ### to get the players' attention and ask your question afterwards. Please be patient with your question and note that everyone who answers is doing so voluntarily and are sacrificing their own playing time to help YOU. You can ask again if you get no response but please don't get too impatient. This thread is merely meant to share the word of the Runescape Help Chat, if you need any help at all and you're either too lazy to look on tip.it or you simply can't find it, ask it here. ~Izz~
  12. How can you dislike chores/work and still have such relatively high skilling levels? Anyways, I would: - get mage up - get more stats 98 and have a mass 99 party - play on pures at Clan Wars, brag about my mine, and bring him to show those n00bs who's boss :D - play Stealing Creation and brag about my levels in quick chat - get mage up and barrage people in various minigames - skill in f2p pvp worlds and watch some fights in the process for fun - do god wars dungeon and get more cash - pimp out my house and turn the dungeon into a maze - bring out the most expensive armour, slap on a skillcape and go to f2p servers and be honoured as a god (and not give everyone who asks 5k) - give my account to IzzetGuildmage - do all quests if you haven't yet - get some cool outfits such as the 'all skulls' or pimped Rune/Black armour - play Fist of Guthix with d claws or d bow - get all strength-boosting stuff and do some max hitting at duel arena (not castle wars which is cheating). - set up a private soul wars world and try to solo the Avatar - do boss trips such as KBD, KQ, DK's etc. - get mage up Yeah, I'm mean and jealous :P
  13. Because none of them help even close to as much as prayer does. I would rather try to atleast get all my skills to the quest requirements before I would even look at prayer. Aside from a few extra prayer points while using prayer potions/super restores, what exactly do you get from prayer? That's like saying 'Aside from hitting higher, what use are strength levels?'. High prayer is very useful in just about every combat activity, PvP and PvE. Personally if I had that kind of cash and levels I'd save up for an ags or just buy another GS if you don't have one already... so worth it! Getting your total level up by training other buyable skills is also an option, but if you really want to blow cash on prayer, go for it!
  14. Actually, I think soul wars is the fastest at the moment. Ice burst once then blood burst all the time. If you're in the winning team you can run to their bandages and burst players (you could also pot blood barrage). I tried it and got 73-74 mage in under 10 minutes. It cost me 1M however and I'm unlikely to try again before I get something awesome like a visage drop. You could also just alch your way there, while it might take longer in time, you don't have to concentrate at all and can just lie back and hit 5 every second using mousekeys.
  15. IBot, NeXus and RSBot all use BCEL and users will be banned. SCAR says it doesn't use BCEL but I doubt that. A-R-Y-A-N died long ago (why is this censored?). The next generation bot, RID, is according to its makers undetectable. It is however also very expensive. I know these facts from browsing random forums. I have never used a bot myself.
  16. What he said. Get a full inv of bandages, run back to the graveyard where you spawn and use them on other people whenever your activity bar is 1/2 of its total. Check back every minute. This way you'll be safe from ancient mages as well as the wrath from the leaders of your clanchat.
  17. I think the best way is to craft nats all the way. You might want to try out the GOP for a while, and collect penguin points every week, but runecrafting isn't a very diverse skill. You could also try crafting tiaras which give more xp but it's a very expensive method.
  18. Fleshcrawlers. High hp, low defence, and if you get too much damage you can safespot em. They also drop gems to compensate food costs.
  19. Power beats strength for ANY purpose imho.
  20. 70 att is for Sara Sword, not whip. And yeah with maxed strength I think it's worth it.
  21. Magic is very good in minigames, especially crowded ones such as Castle Wars, Soul Wars, Clan Wars, Stealing Creation and the like. It's also good in combination with range or melee to soften up the target, allowing for an easier K0. However, using ONLY magic on a pvp situation, your opponents will just eat through your spells (even barrage) and reach you eventually. Farcasting can be done but it's very fragile to farcasters. Not to mention they are beaten by the ever increasing amount of rangers. Less relevant is how they are very fragile to thievers in Stealing Creation.
  22. It's easy though... Wear max prayer bonus 1. Teleport to the pyramid with Sceptre 2. Drink a super antipoison potion (or use food) 3. Pray melee or set it as quick prayer to save points 4. Rob the chest in each room 5. In the last 2 rooms you can go, thieve every urn (don't bother check for snakes) and chest. Drop every item below stone. 6. If you have time left over, teleport to Edge (glory) or Duel Arena (ring). 7. If you have 1 charge remaining, withdraw 12 stone tablets. 8. Rinse and repeat. - If you run out of prayer, there's an altar nearby the Pyramid. - If you're inexperienced use food.
  23. Play bounty hunter and kill your target whenever possible. Give it an hour and post again :)
  24. The only place where strength without attack is good is in member's. Might be hard to get due to your age (I know what it was like) but training in Soul Wars or at rock crabs with obsidian maul or the karamja scim thingies is vastly superior to the rc staff.
  25. Also, I believe the Smite prayer was succesfully tested against Revenants. I believe it stopped their healing ability.
