Google Scholars discuss the right to sell characters
Sharper replied to Acelgoyobis's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
This clearly states your character remains JAGEX's property, not entirely the user's. Isn't this evidence enough that selling an account on ebay is illegal? Certainly, it is against the Jagex rules. And I'm pretty sure the agreement you agree on when you create an account is completely legal and overrides any such "American" copyright laws. -

I love it when American's quote their countries law and automatically think it applys to the universe Ignorant. -
Why don't Jagex just add a Kill X Player button for you to use while PKing?

Tipit used to have a link on the index page that pointed to scapeboard.com. But the link was called Temperary Forum. It was quite funny because it was called that for quite a few years before they actually made their own forum :)

You must really like your news to require 220kbps downloads all the time. I'm guessing theres alot of video available? Sounds interesting :)

Phil sounds like a pretty cool guy then... This forum was considered more approriate for helping to answer your question because it was about a technical issue. Also the domain scapeboard.com was lost when Tipit left their free forum hosting, the owner of the domain would not release it nor the old forums. So Tipit started a brand new forum of their own. Which is very nice :-) And it was about time they got rid of the Temperary Forum link on the website :D

You start it by pressing the power button on.

Game Programmers, I need your help!!!!!
Sharper replied to smile_or_die1000's topic in Tech and Computers
If your really interested in learning more about game programming and perhaps even dipping into it yourself in the future then I would suggest you go to the GameDev website. This website has a mountain of information about gaming programming, lots of resources. You won't find much more help here on this forum. -
Then don't you think it's a pretty anti-IE comment to say you don't need to include it? The majority of people in the world don't use Firefox Matt.
-
Wouldn't you include it anyway for compatability sake? Not really because its not valid XHTML Strict code. Its a stupid IE only bugfix Oh ok so it's IE only read code? So IE reads this favicon.ico file automatically?

You could start by getting HiJackThis and posting a full log after you scan. -
This thread and the issues on your computer really have been dragging out, they didn't look too complicated to start with. Colt started helping so I won't intrude :) Also I would suggest having only 1 person use an administrator account on a computer shared as heavily as yours, preferably someone who's tech-savy.

Yeah this is what I was thinking. From earlier messages from Microsoft it was recommended to remove your Antivirus software while doing the Service Pack 2 upgrade. But perhaps Microsoft have fixed Service Pack 2 now so it works with other antivirus software during the upgrade. This certainly wasn't the case in the earlier stages of it's release.

I don't see why they don't just implement a Make X and Make All feature for everything. I dont' see why cooking should get cook all but fletching doesn't get cut all or string all.

Yeah I questioned this. He said it was an actual copy of Windows XP. From my experience you either get a System Restore CD from the manufacturer that you use to return the computer back to it's original state, or just a copy of Windows XP. The copy of Windows XP normally would say something like, "This CD is only for use on a X brand computer.". I don't really care what the poster said the CD was, I care what he said was the text on the cd: Of course, it may still work - but it may not. Sorry I will carify it better. Dell supplies proper copies of Windows XP with their computers. He didn't write everything that is written on his Dell CD. I have a few copies of Dell Windows XP CD's and they are infact proper copies of Windows XP that you can use to reformat and reinstall Windows as normal. Sorry for the confusion.

I figured multimedia. Although I also suspected a bit of piracy on the side aswell ;) Uncompressed video could add up alot of that hard space used too.

Great work you cleared out most of the spyware/malicious files from your computer. Now you just need to do a complete Windows updates so you fix all the vulnerabilities currently on your system. Go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ to run Windows update. You need to do this at least once a Month, preferably allow Windows update to be run automatically as needed. When you have Service Pack 2 installed there is an easy option in your Control Panel for setting up automatically Windows updates. Repost the HiJackThis log when you are fully up-to-date.

Firstly you need to backup all yoru current files on the computer you wish to keep, either to another harddrive, or a DVD/CD. Because all the data will be lost when you reformat, obviously. The CD is for reinstalling Windows, not upgrading. You can't reformat and reinstall Windows from inside Windows, you need to boot off the CD when your computer starts up and start the process from there. So put the CD in and restart your computer. Just after your computer loads the BIOS information, or for your instance probably the Dell logo. Press the F12 key until a boot menu appears asking you what you would like to boot off. Choose the CD and then press a key to let it start loading the pre-Windows setup files. Follow through the prompts that appear and reformat your partitions and start installing Windows back on again. After you have Windows loaded on try to get your Internet setup and update Windows with Service Pack 2 and all the available critical updates as soon as possible. Let me know how you go.

In HiJackThis you run a scan then put a tick in the box next to each entry I listed above, then click the Fix button. I mean your antivirus software, Norton. The other software you listed is called anti-spyware software, it doesn't stop virus's. We'll ignore that IE error for now until you get everything else sorted out. Do what I said in my post above and get those Windows updates.

Then restart yoru computer and run Windows Update. Ensure that you get Windows Service Pack 2 and all the available critical updates. You will probably need to uninstall your antivirus software before installing Service Pack 2 because it might stop functioning properly after the update. So just uninstall it, do all the updates, then install and update the antivirus software again. Let me know how you go after all this.[/i]
