  1. @ dark: Nice, that's interesting, -3 social libertarian. :) @hiimben: You are on the horizontal line? That means you are centrist when it comes to authoritarianism/libertarianism. Nice balance. :)

I never heard of drawing in macromedia flash player. Nice job with it.
  3. Exactly. I guess what I wanted was another option that was in between agree and disagree :P Like a "no opinion" option. But maybe it's just because I despise politics :XD: I'd agree with that, like an "undecided" option. Unfortunately it would probably take the folks who made that quiz forever to implement it. :(
  4. With widescreen and a large TV and the volume up and lights off it feels like you are at the theater. Get popcorn and a cuppa soda if you usually have those when you go to a theater.
  5. So there should be 'maybe' or 'don't know' options? I agree with that.
  6. Completely and totally agreed. Exactly what I was thinking. They would change their email, screenname and IP in a few seconds, what good is that?
  7. Nice ktmcf121! @ tripsis: They're easier than other ones since the options are strongly agree, agree, disagree and strongly disagree. You can choose how you feel and not yes or no. :) And that's interesting since when I took the test a few months ago I had a similar standing. I wonder why I'm so right-winged now.
  8. Nice, you stand almost opposite from me.. :) To post a screenshot, press the Print Scrn/SysRq Key which is to the right of F12, then go into Paint and click edit (at the top of the window) and click paste. Crop out all the unneeded stuff and save it as whatever you want except a .bmp or .tif, those are way too large for the forums since .tif is very complex and .bmp is incredibally uncompressed. Those formats may take up a few megabytes instead of a few kilobytes, to put it short. Then go to http://www.photobucket.com, register if needed then upload your image. Copy the URL of the newly uploaded image into your post. That's unneeded though since that link works perfectly. :)
  9. You should check back every month or two. There might be a great topic to reply to.
  10. I've always thought of global warming as self-evidant.
  11. The Political Compass is a map that tells you where you stand in the political spectrum. It is 2-dimensional, and is much more effective than the traditional one-dimensional political spectrum that ranges from far left (most liberal) to far right (most conservative). An example of the flaw of the 1D spectrum is, where did Joseph Stalin stand in it? He was a hardcore authoritarian as in far-right ideoligies, and yet was a fan of far-left ideoligies like collectivism. Should we consider him Left or Right? The solution is adding another dimension, one that extends from far top/north (most authoritarian, or fascism/totalitarianism) to the far bottom/south (most libertarian, or anarchism). Want to know where you stand in this 2-dimensional spectrum? Take the test! http://www.politicalcompass.org/index This is a screenshot of where I stand: Economic Left/Right: 6.00 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 4.15 You can post the link to the printable page of your result (link to it should be near the image of where you stand in the Compass) or a screenshot of the result if you want. For reference, here is a chart of where some famous people stand in the Compass, from the website. http://www.politicalcompass.org/images/internationalchart.gif
  12. From the pictures it doesn't look so much like a genocide (I think of the Armenian genocide by the Ottomans and the Holocaust by the Nazis when I think of genocide) but like a famine. I'll look into it more though.
  13. I guess I can suggest something that right-wingers have been saying for years: The media is dominated by liberals! Well I seriously doubt it is, but you have a good point, newspapers are negative and often biased.
  14. I found these two 'mines' just north of area 51 in the link I posted above. A closer look at the northernmost mine shows this: Is it a mine? Or are those two big pits just two holes in the ceiling of a massive underground testing facility for disecting aliens and reverse-engineering flying saucers?
  15. It's the only excuse they can use without out-right saying "The Bible says..." in their reasoning. Personally, I think a gay couple should be able to get married whenever the choose. You couldn't honestly say it would hurt you any. And so what if the Bible says it's "wrong"? Do you think God will swoop down and smite everyone who made it legal? Nay. Too many people depict God as something to be feared. That's where the problem starts. No, the problem is rooted in the story of Ha'adam, the first man. I believe God gave to Ha'adam one specific command- to be procreative ("be fruitful and multiply..."), which is where the whole gay debate stems from. Too bad the only thing actually against gay marriage is the direct core of the Catholic Church; I don't know a single Catholic who actually agrees with the Church's decision about gay marriage. Well, it's just like the abortion issue. Church has to make a choice, so it's better for them to take the safe one than to make the wrong choice and have to go back (presumption of personhood for the abortion debate). So no, the problem is not about fearing God. People nowadays realize that God ain't going to come down and directly smite somebody Tigra -.- . Religion isn't a really valid thing to use in a debate since not everyone shares eachother's religion. Abortion has been proven safe and gay marriage won't harm anyone except homophobic people.
  16. Then someone should make an abortion debate thread? I don't volunteer.
  17. That's strange. Wonder what a beverage company wants to do with a school district? There's probably lots of coke advertisements there. :)
  18. I agree. Much more important to prevent murder than not give rights to loving couples. Woo pro-life :D *Grumble* It's not murder, it's just euthanizing something that doesn't even have a fully developed brain or internal organs yet. I often have the same response when someone likens abortions and stem cell research to murder. Remember how it was like before you were born? You can't. That's what it's like to be an emberyo. You don't exist. Therefore it cannot be called murder.

  20. I already noticed that. The post wasn't directed at anyone here. :)
  21. Barnes & Noble: GREAT books. The person who wrote that thinks too negatively.
  22. That doesn't even have a chance of getting through, silly conservative extremists.
  23. Area 51 is just another air force base, no aliens in hangers and such. You can look at it from a satellite here: http://www.wikimapia.org/#y=37237777&x=-115806026&z=14&l=0&m=s
  24. You can play runescape on Linux? I might be confusing myself with Lynx, the text based web browser. I might be confusing things with Unix and other obscure operating systems. Anyway, good luck with the appeal.
  25. I'd prod it out of the house with a broom and get my shotgun.
