  1. This thread was a little further down and has some good points: http://forum.tip.it/topic/302633-jack-of-trades-aura/ to me it seems great. Like yourself I don't play as much as I'd like too and for skills like RC it's a great boost. AFAIK no news on the next batch of auras but it'd be interesting to see if there's a tier 3 for the JOAT type aura as the Wisdom aura already grants 2.5% on xp earned.
  2. I wouldn't like to be a noob again but I remember being one and especially a P2P one. I remember it being very exciting and loving to explore, so on that front I would disagree, I think that players should be 'forced' to travel around and see what there is. I actually think a 'One Small Favour' type quest would be a good thing to start off with but perhaps with an item that teleports you near the location but still requires running about, etc. I love the fact that the Herblore and Summoning quests are just through that gate north of Fally. It was so cool, after being F2P for some time, being able to go through that gate and do the quest for Herblore (was P2P when Summoning came out). Then travelling to the Gnome Stronghold as Agility seemed so exciting then and to be able to use shortcuts!
  3. Pretty much the same here lol. I stumbled my way to 15 Dung, didn't 'get it' and since then it's been the resource dungeons and ToG to my current level.
  4. The way I've always understood it more like Beaumonde, the RoW affects how many racks/runes you receive or how 'good' the piece of barrows armour is but it won't increase your chances of getting barrows gear. I always thought the game took the GE prices into account as to how 'good' a piece of the armour was rated.
  5. ^ This. I usually watch series but often movies. For example, I must have watched through Futurama more than a dozen times but still see and hear things I haven't before!
  6. I quit a few years ago because I had no time, the other half was always home or I was doing things. Now she's started working and I have more free time. I started back doing some more 'afk' things, leveling fletching as I can buy the resources and alch for profit (thanks botters) as I, used to be and still mainly are, a pretty self sufficient player - all my smithing xp has come from what I've mined, FM xp from what I've WC, etc. Then some quests, and deciding I want a QC again so skilling partly for the max levels required for all quests and, my levels not exactly being high meant, I still have plenty I can reasonably easily achieve with the comparitivley little input. Also the initial excitement of XBL has worn off and I can do things like fletch when I'm playing that.
  7. You've maxed your other melee so why not get def too, what seems like a small difference will sometimes be worth it. Sure, you'll hit lower when training it but once it's done it's done, do it with Slayer and it'll be fine.
  8. I've only just started Dung so this is probably terrible help but I basically solo rushed whatever floor I was on and reset when necessary, I actually did it on complexity 3 so there wasn't too much to worry about but this is like a 40/45% hit to your xp. . I bound the best 2h I could when one appeared. Once I was at 15 I hit up the resource dungeons (first you can actually enter is at level 10), good xp for finding and entering them. I'm now at 28 and all I've done since level 15 is resource dungeons and 1 session of TOG.
  9. I like the guide and the different options you have shown. I'd personally like to see a completely profit making option if there is one even if it is much slower. Would you be able to post a 'script' or even just the numbers and figures for quick reference? I voted Mining next, it would complement this Smithing guide nicely and you could tie it in perhaps even showing 'self-sufficient' methods or training both too.
  10. I've just started Dungeoneering (13 as of this post) and want to know the best way to go through solo, aiming to get up to about 50 (for now). I don't play very often and usually when I do it's not for that long so I go at it alone rather than waste time finding a team. I've currently got a Argonite 2h binded (bonded/bound? lol) and my stats (hopefully) are in my sig. Hoping to get some advice as to the best levels, complexities or any general advice to help for now. Thanks, Yak
  11. I get the ad at the top of the page even though I'm a member but I think it's because I play on about 3 different comps at 3 different places and every time I go onto the RS website it comes up with the little video clip with the big play button, I hit that and go straight to the 'game page' with that ad but it doesn't remove it once you log in.
  12. Slayer has no rewards apart from the Vine Whip. Whip, granite maul, boots, masks, dark bow? It has quite a few rewards: and good ones too.. It's not jagex who decided that those items aren't worth a lot. Same could be said for any gathering skill nowadays - heck for mining the best reward comes at lvl 85. - and woodcutting at lv 80.. Those should be main priority with updating them to be "valueable" for anything else than total level. I think the thing with skills like woodcutting and mining is that the higher you level the faster you can get the materials so some people might not view themselves 'maxing' the skill at those levels as, for example, 90 mining could get a rune ore faster than 85. I like the idea of only being able to kill a monster on task and higher levelled monsters too, I'd support both!
  13. HA! What a great list! Gotta miss the old dragons/demons the most but the old imps that looked like midgets in fancy dress were great. And the old Dagannoths... I always wondered how they could see with no eyes lol. Miss that old music and login for some reason too. The old mining rocks were indeed much better and the rock golem along with the old random events that made you pay attention haha.
  14. For me those 3 have to be top. And, for me, Zzzamorak - to me the most famous skiller (I don't doubt there are more or even better!). I'd agree with Coandca5 that there are some influential TIFers to me, for example, Axe Man Jack - if it wasn't for his Slayer guide I never would have got into Slayer as much as I did. I also noticed after reading this thread that Zezima has got 99 Summoning and 120 Dungeoneering now.
  15. Not got any or seen anyone with any yet. "The black ibis items provide a multiplier to your Thieving XP up to a maximum of 700 XP per action. The full set gives a 2.5% bonus. This boost can stack with other Thieving XP boosts." I'd interpret that as if what you do gives (robbing dwarf trader or thieving from the Dorgesh-Kaan chest) 700xp then you get a 2.5% bonus, if it gives you 701xp+ then not.
  16. I use PP now and have done from about 70 tbh, although I've had a long break and lost my technique haha. I used the Sorceress Garden beforehand because of the small Farming bonus xp lol. My PP method is probably not the best but I just open doors then 3rd to last room open the chest, 2nd to last look for snakes and chest then everything in the last room. I take 2 super anti poisons and 10 monkfish, I've made my pots and caught and cooked my fish so they owe me nothing, but at current market prices a minimum of 9 gold seals sold to Simon Templeton covers the cost of these. Nice guide, very useful for speed to get to 99!
  17. Sorceress Garden, everyone of them goes for herbs. You can see the higher levelled ones as they will always go to each 'safe spot' regardless of when they cause things like this (pic) to happen. It should be moving along the dotted line but as the botters always go to each safe spot they run right into it's path and get teled out. It was there for about 2 hours the other day just constantly teleing them away, only real players were actually getting through using an odd route to avoid it lol.
  18. I don't like using Barrows (or similar) for things like combat mini games cause usually I don't think it's worth it and don't like having to pay out as time flies when doing them, but my only other option is rune legs. Is it worth getting dragon legs or is there another option that would be worthwhile. Also, not rich enough for tassets.
  19. I headed on down to Sorceress's Garden to play for a bit (only just back to P2P after about 3 years and I like it for the bonus Farming xp lol) and wondered why there are SO many bots there. They all go for herbs in the Summer garden so I'm assuming they sell the herbs they get? Not a single person in any of the other gardens either so all have to be at least 65 Thieving!
  20. I've noticed that these bad habits stay, I left for about 3 years and have just started playing again and still do things. Most have already been mentioned. -The need to have full prayer -Right clicking everything, could be a passing person, a monster or the tree I'm cutting -Feeling the need to collect everything and anything monsters drop -Organisation; my bank having placeholders or things having their place, inventory, charms along the bottom and for some reason runes vertical down the right side as far away from anything clickable as possible -The need to have 'correct' numbers of certain things, for example when smelting having the exact amount of coal I'll need or firemaking having the exact amount of logs + placeholder for the next level -Reading forums when playing and drastically reducing xp/h -Searching anyone that hangs around long enough when skilling on highscores -When skilling (P2P) wearing weight saving equipment as if it makes a much bigger difference

NO! Not at all, not even in the slightest. It's difficult for even farmers to own firearms I believe. You can't even defend your home using a baseball bat or something stored under your bed, it'd considered preemptive (sp?). It's all getting a little too close to home just outside Croydon atm!

The London riots are apparently moving to down the road from me (Croydon) and gotta admit, even though I can't see anything happening yet, it's a lil scary to think a molotov could come crashing through the window for no reason. Not gonna lie, I was on holiday when it kicked off so I don't really know why it's all happening... Probably like most of the mugs that are doing it. To all those in and around the London area, stay safe!
  23. Great guide dude! Helped me get properly started on a range 2h pure  One thing I thought of regarding money early on is the Stronghold of Security. I've done it with my level 3 with no food before I even started training and you get 10k. It's something I think everyone should do when starting out really, is there an easier 10k? lol.
  24. They could make BH safe but not everyone will want to PK like the old Wildy. It makes sense to keep BH for a more 1v1 based PKing system where you get the items you kill for. Especially if the system is bogus and the rewards for killing someone in a PvP world are rubbish, an amazing kill and a rubbish reward will soon see the PvP worlds empty. On the other hand if it's a great system with great rewards then they will stay full. But, like I said, some people won't want to all out PK like the old wildy and may prefer BH style PKing.
  25. That's for an enchanted one that holds scrolls, it doesn't affect your ability to wear a normal rune full :P Head to the SoS, decent place to train and once your high enough to kill decent monsters theres some good drops. Or maybe cockroaches.
