As a fan of dramatic TV, I have to say that I think this is wrong. You are indeed looking in the wrong place if you can't find TV shows that are artful--and being artful includes having a proper ending. Yes, network television is designed with catering to the lowest common denominator in mind--usually. But there are shows that have set their sights higher, and had real endings. And to find the best of the best, there is always cable: The Sopranos, Six Feet Under, The Wire, etc. are all great shows that have ended on their terms. You can add Breaking Bad to that list...eventually. There is no way they can keep it going indefinitely, and the creators don't WANT it to go long. Hell of a show. Bryan Cranston won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series THREE YEARS IN A ROW for it, and they've only had 3 seasons so far. I'm hoping he gets a 4th one this year because he's a hell of an actor

Nicolas Cage's "Drive Angry" unironically owns. It was THE most fun I've had at the movies in a long time, and I usually HATE 3D (but this was FILMED for 3D, instead of it being working in later like most films). The accountant was [bleep]ing awesome, and Nicolas cage redeemed himself with this imo. Too bad it bombed, it really deserves to do a lot better than it did

Oldboy rules, and so do Korean movies. There are two other movies in the revenge trilogy (Oldboy being one of the three), the other two are Sympathy for Lady Vengeance (pretty good, some like it more than Oldboy) and Sympathy for Mr.Vengeance (I didn't like it, didn't finish it either). Taegukgi (Brotherhood of War) is like the Korean Saving Private Ryan or something, it's quite awesome and has brutal trench battles. Dude and his little brother are in the Korean war, older bro discovers that if he performs enough crazy, suicidal, one man army missions/acts he can gain enough medals to send his brother home. When I saw Deadsno I thought it was going to be bad up until the guy appeared at the cabin. Then it was non stop awesome from there Doom gets better and better every time I watch it, it's weird. A 13 year old, hell, even some 10 year olds are capable of critical thinking. Maybe not at the same level as a fully grown adult, but enough to be able to think for themselves.
