  1. I am a lot more okay with that than I am with DeAngelo's method.
  2. I think they went through 23 different governments in two years during the 4th though.
  3. Randox, the switch between fourth and fifth republics in France didn't require an insurrection, and there was talk of changing the electoral system less than a year ago (might still be going).
  4. ^ http://www.aei-ideas.org/2012/10/economist-gordon-tullock-makes-the-case-for-not-voting/ In any case I can't vote, be it in the US or in Canada. Fair enough, I'm not opposed to that. I don't know exactly what you mean by "small change", so we might even be on the same wavelength.
  5. At what point is a system flawed enough to require overhaul then?
  6. It's effectively a two-party system because you might as well not vote if you're going to vote for the smaller parties, so people settle. Transferable voting would be better.
  7. I think electoral reform is what's required to get closer to democracy, and that who you vote for will have little impact on that.
  8. Don't worry about it, Muddy. I'm not socially retarded and arrogant (might be one but not both...) and I don't like talking to drunk adults. She sounds like she's the crazy one anyway.
  9. http://cafehayek.com/2012/11/whos-going-to-win.html On the subject of polls... BTW, I feel like a vote for people who have no chance of winning is wasted.
  10. This might just be my opinion, but I think your good friends will never judge you very severely because you've been an [wagon] to other girls. Not because they're amazing people, but because people don't become friends because they find each other virtuous.
  11. Yeah, I'd be cool with your plan if it wasn't for the fact that you don't get second chances for everything. You can say whatever you want about poly, but if there's one thing you can't disagree with Muggi on, it's that you need to think your relationships through.
  12. Yeah, you totally coopted my post.
  13. For what it's worth, that Philosophie Magazine investigation I referenced considers that monogamy will have been a short phase in human history...
  14. Bad phrasing, I meant I was asking everyone. My point was I could see why you're coming across as overbearing.
  15. I don't mean to blame you, just saying I asked you whether you thought it was a dick move, which, as you pointed out, assumes monogamy, you wedged polygamy in there, everyone got distracted and I gave up on the question. You're right though, this is only one thread, neither the "cheating" thread nor the "poly" thread; it doesn't help.
  16. Muggi, they kind of have a point. I asked what people thought of cheating and you managed to bring polygamy into the discussion despite the fact that it has nothing to do with it...

You match your shoes with your belt if you're wearing leather shoes IMO, it doesn't really work for sneakers and stuff. Unless you want to go for a webbed belt. I agree about white and black but people insist on wearing those two colors for some reason.
  18. Muggi, the cornerstone of your argument is that you don't believe monogamy can last and still bring happiness. Everyone feels this is a shaky argument, I think. You're going to have to go deeper than that if you're going to convince any of us... if that's not true happiness, then what is? How can you claim someone's unhappy when they personally feel happy?

Get navy, black, white, and grey plain tees. I prefer crew necks, but it's up to you. Get khakis in the usual color, simple rinsed denim (don't wash it often), maybe cords. Brown and wheat for the cords, maybe olive. Gray converse are fine, but don't get those double tongue gray ones, get the regular ones. Low or high is up to you. Get a brown belt (PTO has a guide for those). Once you've got that, you can move on to other things. Just get stocked up on basics first or you'll feel like you have a bunch of cool things you can't wear with anything.
  20. It's a closed system. We've also got a problem with defining happiness.
  21. Yes it is. It's shorter than it would have been, ceteris paribus.
  22. I predict a "most people are". Also, Noxx, most relationships are doomed to fail, does it make it OK to cut them short?

Cream or off-white kind of thing?
