Well, you have proved this nicely. Good for you. We are all happy you have enlighented us. Now for some simple math. If you have had your account since you were 13, and you started playing in classic. Then you would be coming up on about 7 years playing. So, the vast majority of the players who started during classic, are at least 19 or 20 years old. I would since the OP never said anything about being serious, and no one else has mentioned it, then I would have to assume that the only reason you even included it was because you felt like insulting someone for a grammer mistake on the internet. Perhaps you thought that it made your "logic" (hahaha) stronger. Whatever the reason, you didn't answer the question. Could someone translate this? I don't get it. It seems like a flamebait directed at me, however it just doesn't make sense. What relevance does the simple math have? What's this question? Is the answer 42? Where's the grammar mistake i was insulting? And where's the logic? Why so serious? Maybe my post wasn't clear enough. I meant that asking someone mature to contact him is pointless, since you have to judge yourself whether they are mature or not.
-
This doesn't really belong in general discussion. Age=/=maturity. Maturity=/=seriousness. Seriousness=/=proper grammar. Maturity is something you must judge individually, so asking someone if they're mature is really pointless. Alhough, there's a clear division between the two extremes.

It's from 19th December 2008, how did you miss that?! Still close. Good guess. -

I seem to remember that the advice was not to suicide with mage pray on. More along the lines of keeping Mage pray on and only switching to range pray when Jad stomps the ground. Effectively reducing the amount of stress and clicking, and lack of life, too.

Why Runescape needs instanced bosses.
mega_vegeta6 replied to Lugia_Lvl138's topic in General Discussion
This is what I have wanted for years! That would raise a lot of new questions. Should the best equips in the game only come from bosses like Jad? Or just make them a challenge to get, like RFD gloves. If there are new bosses, then how to make them unique? I remember hearing a discussion that Jagex is not likley to release a boss if it doesn't have something unique about it. How much more powerful would they be than other equips? Should it be allowed to keep different multiple pieces? Should we be able to hybrid with them? What would happen to inferior equips? Should every spot have it's own representative? Do we actually need any more defence, or any more strength without making the game easier than it already is? You need to be careful implementing, as a new item could crash old ones. Should only combat get these upgrades? Also, the onyx ring from mobilizing armies is the best ring, similar to the two best capes, fire cape and SW cape. The best helmet is also somewhat hard to get, The full slayer helm. -
If there's an obstacle with a really small click box, you should run towards it, and try to right click it while you run. When you're used to this, you can speed up your runs considerably as you don't have to stop and carefully place your mouse at the right spot. A good example is the rope swing on ape atoll. By turning the camera to a high view pointing slightly south east, you will be able to align the rope with your mouse as you run towards it. This gives you room for error if you just find the right starting position for your mouse. The best tactic is to predict ahead. When you have clicked an obstacle, be ready to run towards the next with the mini map, or if you can see it, right click it and give the next command as soon as possible. Experiment how early you can issue the next one for each obstacle, as some obstacles can occasionally make you pause unless you time it right. Again, the rope swing on ape atoll can demonstrate it. If you do it without timing, there'll be a pause after you land on the other side, and you have to click the tropical tree to climb down. If you right click on the base of the tree and issue the command in mid-swing as you use the rope over the river, you can, with more or less success make a "jump" to avoid the awkward pause. If the couse loads scenes to get between obstacles, like the tree up to the monkey swings in ape atoll and the skull slope that follows, you should aim to find a camera angle that you can use through the whole course without changing. Remember where the next obstacle is going to come, and position your mouse over it. If you find markers to roughly indicate where your mouse should be, you could nail it almost every run. Remember that the mouse should be positioned relative to the character, not the scenery when trying to make predictions. If you use a fixed camera, you get one hand free to do another thing of your choice. Well, that is, ofcourse, if you're a woman. (lol) If you're bored. Make use of the objective and try to reach a percentage of your goal. Maybe change browser size so that you can read forums whil you run. I value sanity over exp rates, but i guess that's just me. I wrote this while training agility.

Although she has a valid point in making the games to platforms for innovation and simulation. The potential is huge, and so is the audience. The interest and the results of such attempts are not as good. There's a great difference between WoW, etc. and and these kinds of ambitious and optimistic attempts at harnessing this relatively new and unexplored medium. As said before, people online tend to be.. simple minded and generally unimpressive. At most, the benefits are much the same as those you get in school. Social, historical, mathematical, lingual and logical knowledge is undoubtedly something that anyone spending a long time in an online community like Rs will get. That's about as far as it goes. An epic win will never cure cancer.

I think this is an interesting topic, but i dunno if this is the right forum part for it. Either way, i think someone could get inspired by this. Jane Mc Gonigal: Gaming can make a better world I see a lot of similarities towards Runescape, but there's only one thing that's very different. In my eyes, Runescape has been severely lacking in Community, Co-op and the like, for the better part of it's existence. Considering the effort Jagex is now putting in promoting communities, we might be seeing a definite improvement in not only the quality of the game, but also in the gamers themselves, in the not so distant future. I think RS is really a versatile game, not pushing you to play with others but allowing loners and clanners alike be part of a big system. Most of the game play is meant for single player, but it can easily be done simultaneously with others to converse, bicker and so on and so forth. The only exception i can think of now would obviously be instanced events and running skills like agility and RC, where little room is left for the hands to be typing. The problem solving is really dominated by single player game play. I refer to quests where the most difficulties can be met.

I guess buying a SS for strength training is a better investment than a ZS that'll only be useful at waterfiends.

Is zammy spear worth 5m above something considerably cheaper? What prayer and defence? Is using anything but crush a foolish mistake? This is a slayer task. I have 86 melees 81 summ, and 78 prayer. I have below 20 m in spending money.

Really pointless. If that was true, then you could get the hat before the cape and you'd instantly have a trimmed one. Which kinda beats the point in having two 99's. No one implied it would give you a trimmed Quest Cape. Maybe, but i don't really see any other way a "combo" would be of any use. If the helm boosts the cape or the other way around, then it's just as pointless, since you need max Qp anyway to get that combo bonus. -

Gf Sharbati, he and his friends has been one iteming me and my clan like hell latest days. Anyhow, the word should have spread that you don't simply kill Lead when he kills green dragons. That last sentence reminded me of the meme "One does not simply walk into Mordor" Sorry lol just saying. One does not just simply kill Lead..? I see how that is quite improbable to happen. -

This. Though we're only a couple of months into the new year we kinda should be getting something....... more....... it feels a bit lacking to me. Yeah, but it feels like.. Like we're fogetting something.. Some big thing.. Actually three big things that has, will and is about to happen. First of all, The Xp weekend. If anyone complains that it wasn't good enough, they just cant appreciate free stuff, and frankly, they are greedy little whiners. One could argue that it's not in the spirit of the game, but that has nothing to do with it. Next up is the skill that IS close to come, and it's gonna be a big change. Sometimes, looking ahead and having some patience is a good thing. And the third could actually be two seperate things. It's the new bosses and the fremmenik mystery. We might not know much about it yet, but it'll come out when we least expect it.. And if you'd think about it, it's a good business planning to release smaller things first, in preparation for big things, like a new skill. -

Well they should. Newbs have WAY TOO MUCH GOD DAMN CONTENT! I got my girlfriend into this game and she can't complete it all at a low level. Impossible. She killed the damn vampire at level 40 something. I was trying to freak her out saying it was really hard and she killed it in like 3 hits. And if you're a newbie member? I won't even go there... And it's not like any of that content has any value whatsoever when you are at the lower-medium stages of Rs. -

Yeah.. and how many people were playing runescape and had the stats to hunt bosses back then? No, the question is, did we have summoning and godswords back then? -

Ya even trolls need a life. Wooooooah I have 1/3 of your playing time and I thought I was no lifing  Opportunity, you know. My friend has 22 hours+, and he hasn't played for like a year or so. The best part is that he spent all that time trying to get 400 points for slayer helm. He knows he did it a bit backwards, but that's the way he rolls, he says. -
I thought it was based on the xp you get.

Why? The mage is cursed and the statue explodes whenever you make it. The guys are giving you REPLICA pieces not originals; therefore yours is just rocks not a mage who has turned to rock. It's completely illogical that it'd come to life; it is JUST a statue Well the dude was a MAGE, and this is a GAME, so thought logic isn't a big deal. Besides, this is the only value i can give it besides being a pointless requirement like others have suggested. And it could very well be that he comes alive the last time you rebuild it in the museum. breaking the curse, and then he goes off somewhere. Or maybe he stays at the museum and give them info about the second age.
-
It seems pretty obvious to me that the statue will come alive once you've completed it. I wouldn't know what to do with a personal little mage in my house, though.
