No demand yet, but who's to say that if they ever release it through a quest they wouldn't give them another use? The demand is now, and it tells that a soul altar is unneccesary. If a soul altar is released now, there has to be a demand that follows it. If the demand comes ahead of the altar, the price will rise until an altar is a neccesity to have. It is pointless to speculate until demand rises or when altar is released.
