should jagex start focusing more on older players?
They have a history of that. Classic veterans are the reason why Jagex is worth so much today. Back when Andrew almost went out of business and added membership out of desperation, we paid even though there was almost nothing to pay for. Jagex couldn't afford to advertise, Runescape grew because of word of mouth from the few people that played alone. Yet as soon as they got enough money to launch rs2, they killed off classic. They killed off the game which made them the company they are, and took everything we did to make them rich, and threw it in our face. Jagex will continue to make updates to attract new players. Since the release of rs2, Jagex is trying to rake in more money, they are making a good game business wise, rather than making a good game player wise. Normally I wouldn't care about this, as that is what any company does. It's just that Jagex never used to be like this, they used to get into the game themselves, be a part of the community. Now they just want money.

Locking suggestions about macroing - randoms and syntax
I didn't say that, I used my idea as an example of one which doesn't change game play, it is a suggestion code wise. As generally the only updates which stop macroers (and don't mess up the economy, like pure ess) are in the coding, not game. Currently most of jagex's anti-macro protection are traps in the code, and a reflection system. Also, I am not talking about all macroing ideas, just suggestions for randoms, using syntax, or quiz's. I am asking that you do stop these ideas, not because mine are better, but because they don't work. Syntax is easily read by an OCR, people keep suggesting it. Randoms don't work, and I explained why, yet people keep suggesting them. Quiz's don't work, even if jagex makes thousands of questions, they will still use some kind of variables and only a few different questions, once someone finds the variables, the quiz is easily solved. Also because of what no_username4 said. Because people might be wondering why their thread got locked, or why the idea won't work I volunteered to make a post to be referred to on lock, explaining why their idea won't work. This should reduce posts of this type, and reduce clutter, and staff wouldn't have to spend the time writing the post. darkblade986: Of those 4 ideas on the first 4 1/2 pages, Jagex won't use the first idea of a quest point requirement or the second asking for a combat requirement because of skillers. I really doubt jagex will add an attack option for people that you think are macroing, it will just get abused, and that last idea, allowing macroing worlds? I will honestly eat my hat and host the video if jagex uses this.

Macroing question
Kind of, for some types of macroers. See my thread here

Locking suggestions about macroing - randoms and syntax
There seems to be a lot of suggestions about stopping macroing, which is good, but they mostly random ideas and syntax, which is bad. These ideas won't work, with the majority of macros, when they get a random, the server actually tells the macro, "You have a random, this is how to solve it." Another common suggestion is using syntax, the type of writing that jagex used in the old fatigue system. - Which failed miserably. Syntax is easily read by an OCR. Anything a person can do, a macro can do better. The ways to stop macroers aren't in game. (See my post entitled "Real way to stop macroers, won't affect game play") I post in many of these threads explaining why their ideas won't work, telling them to google OCR etc, but people keep posting "good idea" even though I just posted exactly why it won't work and why it isn't a good idea. These posts are annoying, useless and make a mess of the forum. I ask that these topics be locked, I am willing to write a post to be referred to on lock, explaining exactly why these ideas won't work.

Is Jagex showing a lack of attention to autoing?
Did you even read my post? Jagex has traps in the client, a reflection system etc, which does much more than randoms.

Is Jagex showing a lack of attention to autoing?
correction, we don't have any good ideas on how o prevent it. Something called increase the number of randoms appearing, which follow you for longer than they do know. The problem with this is that almost everyone hates randoms. as they are the most annoying things ever. But sometimes even the pain can cause the solution. Unfortunately now, autoers flee from them. so perhaps change it so that some of them freeze you for a few moments. idk. Correction: we don't have any ideas that will actually work. Randoms do nothing to stop macroers, period. Heres what happens with the most common macro right now, when they get a random, the server TELLS the macroing program, "Hey, you just got a sandwich lady, you had better talk to her" then "Hey, the sandwich lady told you to pick a triangle sandwich, so click it before you get teleported." If a random freezes a macro, it will wait and then run away. Anything a play can do, a macro can do better. That is why the solution to slowing down macroing is not in game, jagex has to do something like change the way Runescape's servers send and receives packets.

Is Jagex showing a lack of attention to autoing?
People seem to like complaining about how much of a problem macroing is, but they don't have any ideas on how to prevent it. Macroing can be slowed down temporarily, but is impossible to stop it.

Is it illegal to use my macro on my keyboard to write with?
If you are talking about what I think you are, where you record key presses and then press the macro button to repeat them, then I am pretty sure it is allowed, as long as you don't spam, manually press the button, and you are still at the computer.

I'm bored of Runescape. what should I do in-game?
Well if you're bored of Runescape, you could um.. not play it? Is going out somewhere, going for a run or studying out of the question?

what operating system do you use!!
If you had XP and Solaris and went to vista, thats not an upgrade... New and shiny? Sounds like an upgrade to me. Getting something worse than what you previously had? Sounds like a downgrade to me. Vista has way too many bugs, driver and compatibility problems. By buying Vista, you are paying Microsoft to find bugs for them. Thats why they release software before it is fully tested, people buy it and save them money by finding bugs, then they release a version without bugs, and a service pack.

No worries. Not that It really matters, but I don't think giving out your email in a public forum is against the rules. This is the section in the rules about giving personal information. Says nothing about emails.

What is a noob?
Noob just came from newb. Newb or Newbie was the name given to new players, it gradually turned into noob, and used to insult new players. Then it was used to insult people in general. Years later, it has branched into names such as choob, and froob, and now has no real meaning, people just use it when they want to insult someone. Nowadays it is so loosely used that if someone wants to insult someone, they pick something that they are insulting them about, and add the word noob to the end. Such as def noob, scammer noob, str noob, high lv noob. The idiots guide to debating in Runescape: Step 1: Pick a random word. Step 2: Add the word noob at the end, call the other person this. Step 3: Repeat, after 5-10 minutes switch to a new word. Anybody who wants to be an idiot/immature/ignorant should have this guide handy.

Is a macro for reporting macroers allowed?
I don't get happier after every report, as a macro is doing it, not me. I have already covered player moderators.

Cleaning up TipIt from BotAds
I don't know a whole lot about it, but I believe tip.it has the space reserved for google ads, which is heaps of ads on rotation. Tip.it has no control over what ad appears, and can only manually block ads by url, so they have to have the ad reported or see it them self first. I said almost no one, and they exist because tip.it is trying to scrape up a extra few bucks to pay for hosting. Not at all, spam can be everywhere, ads can only be where tip.it chooses. Spam is untidy, the ad is neatly at the top of the site. Spam is hard to control, the contrary with ad's as consent must be given. Spam causes more spam, ad's do not. Spam is caused by idiots, ad's are caused by people wanting money, or wanting to promote something. I fail to see how ad's are the same as spam. Other than that they are both generally unwanted.

Is a macro for reporting macroers allowed?
Um... The people who report people all the time aren't gaining anything from it, so it is irrelevant.

Cleaning up TipIt from BotAds
Why are you so concerned about it? Firstly almost nobody reads the adds, a decent amount of people would be blocking them. Besides, it's like the the ad's are propaganda, if somebody already wanted to buy runescape gold, they would be able to without clicking on an ad. So they don't add anything to the black market. As Gin_and_Tonic said, this is not the right forum, and if you are that concerned about it, pm an admin.

Upgrading system WITHOUT formating, possible?
Go ahead, you should have no problems with it. Though I would advise you to format anyway, formatting regularly is a good idea to keep your computer free of rubbish and will keep it running quickly.
