major change is that obby shields are comparable to DFS against ranged that hits ~500 I ment concerning Dung shields alone.

Question: We had pretty much agreed, that Dung shield was bad before the update... Can you tell me what on earth has changed?? Dung shileds are still bad. but Chaotic kiteshield has been better than DFS against ranged even before teh update, and its still better than obby - so yet again, nothing changed. right?

According to the table, rapier is better than 2h - but arent you forgetting to calculate monster weaknesses, and strong defence? That table relies on every weapon beeing equally accurate.. no?

You dont get anywhere with wild speculations, based on...nothing.. 0,86x+28=y x beeing initial damage y beeing final damage 0,86x removes 14% from the initial hit +28 puts the 14% from the 200 first damage, which is never soaked, back - those 14% off 200 is 28 therein lies the equation: 0,86+28=y I do agree, however, that you should never be able to soak 38 damage from that hit, because: 0,86x+28=359 = 0,86x=359-28 = (359/0,86)-28=x x = 389,44 = 390 initial hit ((390-200)/100)*14= 26,6 damage soaked The equation is take directly from jagex tho: QFC: 15-16-815-61884558 Conclusion: either you read it wrong, the 38 soaked damage wasnt from the 359 hit OR Jagex cant do their own math.

Works with uni, SAtk cost is reduced by 20% so it costs 16 points instead of 20. Theres a topic about this. so far they've concluded that all combat familiar's scroll's gets that reduction. ..And unicorns. which means no reduction in yak/fruit bat scrolls for example.

How much damage would the Eagle-eye have to soak, before it would be worth it? Anyone knows the Magic and melee max hit of Kree-arra + minions? Bestiary says Kree-arra's max with melee is ~500. Anyone knows the rest? Any qualified guess'?

I know its a bother; but you could go "rediscover" the bug. The "30-day rule" is probably inplace, so that you wont be reporting a bug that has already been fixed in a secret update.

..Which probably got them before this update came about I am sooo happy i decided not to get any dung shields The shields DOES however reduce damage by a reasonable amount - if its a high hit as an example: a 700 hit would get reduced by 10% 0.86(700)+28=630

Bad troll is bad. But to further destroy your attempts at making any sense whatsoever, the shield is still not free if you have any sense at all (which you probably don't). If you haven't realised, chaotics when bought come with an initial 20% charge. They DEGRADE, you know that right? And what does it cost to recharge? Not hopes and dreams.....No...This costs MONEY or DG tokens to recharge. 2M gp compared to 200k DG tokens. Either way it's not free. Don't get me wrong, you can pay 200k tokens to recharge your shield (from 0), and save yourself 2m. If you do, that's your own [developmentally delayed]-ed decision. I would much rather spend it on another chaotic/ability. Therefore no, this is not "about as free as it gets." If you want a free shield, get yourself a wooden shield. Go back to Tutorial Island while you're at it. So yeah, go ahead and waste your time. No wonder your sig says "I am not Golvellius the efficient," cause you clearly are NOT. Please do any future discussion about these shield on this thread: http://forum.tip.it/topic/280508-dungeoneering-shields-discussion/ Selfpromoting ftw (srry). Not exactly what we were supposed to discuss; but lets go for it! You have to consider if the superior melee and ranged defence of the primal platebody, could make it a better option than the ward. The ward has decent maged defence. With both platebody and ward, if only 1 style was attacking you, you would pray against that style. With the Platebody you would pray against magic in a dangerous room with all 3 styles. With ward you wouldn't know what to pray against as for the ward beeing a shield that works with the "tank ring" - its very easy to find an antifire shield

This thread was made to discuss the Chaotic kiteshield, Farseer kiteshield and Eagle-eye kitshield. An equation to calculate damage recieved with Dungeoneering shields. 14%: 0.86x+28=y (x=original damage; y=damage taken) 7%: 0.93x+28=y (x=original damage; y=damage taken) Credit to ihuffovloads for the equation.

Nope- claws split up into smaller hits so you'd only get to soak off the first hit if that. Remember that it only soaks damage above 200. An 800 claw spec might go to like 780 at the lowest. My bad. 800 claw spec = 0.86(400)+28= 372 + 400(dmg splash "200, 100 and 100" isnt affected ) = 772 My new argument: 700 Maul hit = 0.86(700)+28 = 630 Equation: 0.86x+28=y (x=original damage; y=damage taken)

How can anyone argue that the stats lost between Arcane and Farseer isnt significant? Theyr huuge! I do alot of wars in Clan wars: 12 less ranged defence is ALOT; especially since the shield is about the only ranged defence you will have while maging. - Personally, in my maxed mage i have the shield and barrow gloves as only ranged defence (for non-tanking armour) 20 less Crush defence (the other melee stats beeing the same) is also ALOT. - Maul might be your worst enemy, no matter what style you are using. 3 less mage offence; mage offence beeing THE reason ou have either of these shields -15 to ranged offence; Arcane is a very good shield for bridding - Farseer isnt to be fair; Farseer has 3 more maged defence, and every little bit counts. a 800 claws spec would be (0.86x+28=y (x=original damage; y=damage taken)) 716

Pro DGing
From personal experience i would say that easy Mono's (level 30's) and easy GD's (level 2-3, 30's, 50's); appears when the enitre team is out of food. Iv you have just cleared a hard Mono where everyone ended up with no food you are almost guaranteed to get an easy GD (or 3) afterwards. If you open a Mono when teh team does have food, but do it when your team is out (lets say its the only way to go) it counts as if your team did have food. Aka the Mono would likely be pretty hard.
