  1. Before this thread goes anywhere, hawkxs, are you playing anything other than Runescape HD? :wall: If so just get yourself a prebuilt, cheap [wagon] machine and don't bother building it. You can run RSHD On like an 8 year old system. If you don't know what you're doing I really don't want you getting yourself in over your head, because if you break something you in turn are costing your parents a lot of money, and that isn't really fair to them. If you don't even know where to start with a computer I'd rather you not build one, especially if you're just playing Runescape.
  2. You are way overboard on the parts if all you are woried about is "playing WoW with minimum lag". None the less, if you are adamant about building your PC instead (just let it be warned that you can screw it up if you don't do something right, potentially frying parts. Putting it together is easy, but having to diagnose any potential problems is not. This is just a warning, if you still want to build it it can be a great project for you). Now, with the build you have you are going for an i7 processor (expensive!), an HD4850 (fairly expensive) and the DDR3 RAM goes for a lot too. If you're worried about future proofing, playing Crysis on all high details, ect... then yeah this kind of build would be wonderfully powerful. However you state you are playing Runescape HD and WoW on this. A 5 year old rig can run runescape and WoW without too many problems. If you're playing more than those, tell me, but otherwise I would go for something a lot less powerful and less expensive. I.E Q6600 $190 HD4850 OC $155 GIGABYTE motherboard $120 CORSAIR 650W PSU $70 Cooler Master RC-690 Case $79 Western Digital 1TB HD $120 OCZ Platnum 1066 DDR2 4GB $40 Vista 64bit Home Premium $99 Lite On CD/DVD Drive/Burner $20 TOTAL: $893 Now granted, this system might still be overkill, but it's got a lot of life in it. To make matters better it's an Overclockers dream for a system. Just slap a Freezer Pro 7 on the CPU if you are worried about temps and you can easily get that CPU to 3.2ghz, not to mention bumping up the RAM and video card. That would last you a long while.
  3. Well ok, I didn't mean it that literally joe. :P
  4. Actually both of those look like a good fit for the OP, Dracion. Very notebook like. :P

Haha, I figured one might. I know I could only find the screenshot from gamefaqs too so, dead giveaway if you went there. Still I've been trying to go easier on you guys (no crazy DOS games from my childhood) and you guys still take forever :shame:  . Sega Saturn too man of a system for you? :P

Holy [cabbage]. If I may ask, how you end up getting that? :P
  7. [hide=][/hide] *snicker*. And this was on a normal server (no enhanced crits/crit rates). :)
  8. You surf on them :>

 Cheater :P. It is saturn though.
  10. ^ No [cabbage]. This is horrible.
  11. Dude, Pre WoTLK (TBC) raiding we had enh shaman in our guild pull 1200+ DPS sustained. You must be playing with bad players. edit: Just so people don't think I'm blowing smoke 1st boss in DtK. He was orange to me so not as high as I want, but its pretty much a tank and spank so it shows my sustained DPS. The entire DtK run. Sadly the last boss sucks because you can only pull like 500-600DPS due to getting turned into a skeleton, so it skewed the meters a bunch. (Was well into 1020-1050 DPS before that). Still, as you can see it is mainly Arcane Barrage, Blast and Missiles for DPS. Not AoE spam. And again these are orange mobs. ps: My gear is nothing to write home about. 878 Spell damage, 15.5% crit, 87 Haste rating (+6% from talents too).

  13. What I want to know is if these people are doing 2k-3k burst or sustained dps? I am only lve 78, but have been worrying about this cause most groups now are expecting 2k dps to do raids. As of now, i can max at only 800 dps sustained (Feral in cat form). I did however get around 3k dps burst in bear form today, but it was hard to pull off. Should i wait till 80 and after doing some heroic till i start worrying about large dps? 800 dps sounds really low, even for a feral druid. If I were you I would look around a bit on what recommended builds are and attack rotations for ferals. You should be able to put out higher DPS than that. I believe there are training dummies you can give it a shot on in dalaran too to test. I'm willing to best something is wrong with your attack rotation though.
  14. Of course he was, he was [bleep]ing Ozzy man.
  15. Where are you that you're using a Kansas City connection for speed test sloter? Reason I ask is I go to college in Kansas, and am like 3 hours away from Kansas city. :P Which college? I live near Lawrence :P Pittsburg State University. :)
  16. Logitech is a great brand all around. I use the G5 mouse as well from them, and the last mouse I owned by them (MX518) lasted me for well near 7 years. :) But like I said, the one I'm on is pretty tactile atm. You don't need to push too hard, and its a small(ish) keyboard. edit: THIS is the keyboard I own. It's great.
  17. Delayed until Feb 25th, 2009.
  18. Man, you actually like laptop keyboards? :P Anyways I like my logitech keyboard. Forget what it is, but it was only like $15 and is great.
  19. Meh that's the [kitties] version of a Satanist. :P Totally not what people view a normal satanist as. There technically is some "soft" metal out there. Just sayin'
  20. After a bit of thinking I'm deciding on giving THIS BUILD 60/0/11 a try for arenas @ 80. My reasoning being that: - It seems like a PoM AP Frostfire bolt crits higher than PoM AP Pyro. Was watching a mage crit video today with him using frostfire instead, along with Icy shards. - Icy Veins is awesome. And coupled with the "removes snares on use" glyph it will be an invaluable tool for arenas along with my engineering I'll level up. - Icy Veins + Engi haste gloves + Beserking = Mad fast Arcane Barrages due to a lowered GCD. What would be the soft cap on haste though? - Frostbite procs if I need it from using Ice armor, although of course I think what team we're against will depend if I use ice armor of mage armor. - With 3.0.8 I will be able to have 5% hit without any hit gear at all, which will be great for PvP. (Elemental Precision effects all spells in 3.0.8) So yeah, that's my plan. I was thinking of doing a PvE friendly build for PvP as well, but [bleep] that. I found out my guild hasn't been raiding as good as they did in TBC so I probably won't even join them. If I do raid it'll be a PUG and I'll have no problem out DPSing bad players, especially with the arcane buffs. The main DPS tool I'm missing is Clearcasting (Arcane Concentration). Again I really don't see how it's possible to do that @ 80. I mean, as I said before at 70 in T5 level gear I was pulling out 1200-1400 DPS raid buffed as a rogue. This was on bosses so it was very sustained, where as heroics are very much a burst fight. With the exception of a warlock most classes can burst DPS very well, better than sustained really, so they can get higher because fights just don't last long. Also pretty much any class in the game has AoE. Blizzard, Volly, Tempest, Divine Storm, Seed of Corruption, Blade Flurry (lols), cleave/whirlwind, ect. There is no excuse not to AoE when the time is right. So like I said, if people are only pulling 1300-1500 DPS in heroics than I'm going to have an easy time on my mage!

I'm not kidding. It's for a home console. (As much as I'll say).
  24. Nadril replied to Danqazmlp's topic in Off-Topic
No it isn't. :) It is not for a portable system.

DESCRIBE THE PROBLEM IN DETAIL or you will just make us jump around the [bleep]ing bush guessing for answers. You don't need to be a damn geinus to tell us: Wireless or Wired What internet provider Any other processes going on at the time (other windows opened) Does disconnects only happen in runescape or else where as well? Does the RS window actually physically CLOSE (the entire explorer window close), does it disconnect, or what? If you don't want to help yourself we aren't going to help you.
