  1. Half life 2: EP3 is the big one on my list right now.
  2. It was pretty scary, but I never finished it due to getting bored.
  3. I haven't really bothered with the demo. Might check it out to see how it runs/looks on my PC, but that's about it.
  4. Forum name is nadril I think. That or Cyrant. I used one of those to sign up a while back.
  5. Have you already put the RAM in? Or what. I'd hate for you to have bought DDR2 ram, which is the standard right now.
  6. Doing a bit of looking around it seems as if it only supports PCI cards. That means it will not be worth spending any money to upgrade the video card. Also looks like it only supports DDR1 memory, am I correct?

Man Millard, were you a sega fanboy back in the day too or something? Your turn.
  8. There is honestly no downtime at all with arcane. - 80% mana regeneration with mage armor and Glyph (and 30% talent) - 2 minute evocation - Mana shield only costs 1 mana per damage, not 1.5 The spell rotation isn't the most mana friendly but its pretty beastly, and mobs die quick.
  9. I don't think you'll really notice a difference between hard drives. The price of the machine (for it not being custom built) looks fine. And, yes, pretty much any DVD write drive should be able to read CD's. There are exceptions, of course. Also don't get a smaller screen. Stick with the 1680x1050.
  10. I haven't played Fable 2, but it has to be better than fallout 3 was. Fallout 3 was a major disappointment for me.
  11. lUQcS4xhhqo Frog's Theme from Chrono Trigger. No [bleep]ing comparison there. Seriously, it's done by one of the best composers out there for video game music, and there's just so much emotion behind it. [bleep]ing amazing song. G2WADM1nQJ0 Suite Song from Half Life 2. or another song from it, The full version isn't technically featured in the game (the first 30 second are) but man, what a song.
  12. Hmm... to be honest I kind of liked the mix of an industrial looking piece (what with the straight geometry in it) versus a more blended version. The newer one doesn't have as defined of a focal point and it gets boring. The white space is also a lot more noticeable in the new version.
  13. It's two different types of games. WoW works well because its a constant thing. Personally I think a lot of people play and have played Diablo and Diablo II in a very on and off manner. I don't know anyone who just stayed for all those years. I just don't see Blizzard doing a subscription model for it. And also, at least with american prices, a game is $50-$60 and a subscription is $15 a month. So a game box is actually closer to 4 months than two. I'm not saying they would lose out, but it might be a possibility. And like I said before, it just wouldn't be like Blizzard I think. What exactlly has gotten you to think this all of the sudden though? I know people are worried about the Activision/Blizzard merger since patch 3.0.8 hit with bugs (and some people think Activision pushed it out) so I don't know if its part of that same train of thought or not.
  14. Do you think it's because of the Activision merger or what? Personally I think Blizzard would be making a poor business decision making Battle.net a subscription service, they might lose out more on sales than they would make from a subscription service. They've said before it will be stuff like name changes, ect. kind of like how WoW has it.
  15. They've stated a hundred times there will not be a subscription fee for Battle.net, I'm not sure where you're getting that from.
  16. ASUS is awesome, I almost got a laptop by them if it wasn't for the deal I got on my Gateway FX (which has been great to me so far, but it's only been a few weeks :P)
  17. You are right about the BLACK edition [1]Source GTX260 BLACK $250 HD4850 $135 I'm just not sure if the GTX260 BLACK is really worth the extra $100 for someone. It might be nice for a bit of future proofing, but when the highest requirements game he is running right now is STALKER I don't think it's a problem. If my 9800M GTS on my laptop can play Crysis comfortably @ highs than I'm sure he'll live with an HD4850 in a desktop. :) Especially when you look at the growing trend of games for these next few years. There aren't many that are using anything more advanced than Crysis, but we have a ton of games using the Unreal 3 engine or they are going the route of blizzard and Valve, with lower requirement engines that still scale wonderfully. (Source engine, and then blizzard has Diablo III and Starcraft II coming out, not to mention still supporting WoW. All which can be ran easily).
  18. SLI: waste of money unless you need every bit of performance you get. It's simply not worth paying money for it and no normal person needs SLI, considering even a single HD4850 will run every single game out right now on all high details at a playable framerate. GTX260: waste of money, better spent on an HD4850 or HD4870. PSU: Stick with 600-650W unless you're running an X2 card, SLI or multiple hard drives. I say 600-650W because it seems to be in a good price range.
  19. OnIIx no one really cares. Yes, you can build a computer for much cheaper. Not everyone wants to for their own reasons. No need to keep pushing it, it only makes you look like an [wagon].
  20. I tested until I ran out of mana.
  21. OnIIx if she doesn't want to build a computer she doesn't want to. You don't need to be a [bleep] about it.
  22. I think it would be better if you cropped it, maybe like this, or at least roughly like it: I love the color though. Any significance in the 3 lines (looks like a hidden W at first glance) and the circle?
  23. Yeah these threads never work. For one, it seems like a lot of people on TIF have a horrible sense of humor (lol look at this pic it says fail in it and the guy is failing at something).
  24. HD4850's definitely is the best price for performance card on the market right now. The card can really almost go up head to head on some benchmarks with the GTX260, and it's crazy powerful. :P
  25. Considering I can do 1450 at least as frostfire vs the level 80 dummy @ 78 and 2000 DPS on the level 70 dummy I think you might want to look at different rotations. Although in reality it's really just steady shot spam. edit: The landmine quest in storm peaks is [bleep]ing funny as [cabbage]. Watching like 3 guys and me try and complete it.
