  1. I don't pk, I don't merchant, the most valuable thing I've ever gotten from a drop party was a cosmic talisman. And yet this update still incites a large fury within me. Why such drastic changes to take out RWTS? How bad of a damn problem were they really? I can't give people money even though I would like to I can't sell what I used to sell for the price I wanted and the whole thing drives me nuts. Doesn't jagex have some unholy means to catch these people? Why can't they use that instead of watering down the game for the rest of us? A man said this is similar to curing a disease by killing a patient and now that couldn't possibly be more true. Jagex did do a great job of detracting RWTS though. By making the game a lot less fun to play they have forced a lot of gp buyers to want to quit and then the gp sellers would realise they'd have better luck with a different game. In all seriousness though they've killed staking, pking merchanting and drop parties what other options does that leave people. Oh wait buying gp with physical cash of course. Sorry for the disorganized state of my rant.
  2. at the very least they should give us some kind of party room for our house, or will that be heavily restricted to avoid real world item traders (although it's very possible that if they make it a high enough level the RWTs won't be able to get to that level before being banned.
  3. Rares are dropping in price, yet I still can't afford them unless I sold all my runes herbs and seeds and high alched a lot of my bank. I don't want to do that though since I doubt i could sell everything in time to buy them cheap (and there's also the fact that I like my stuff).
  4. only 3 types of herbs? How do you manage?
  5. For the last time on the horizon means nothing more than it will be coming soon. Sheesh.
  6. caromon those are just expressions they don't prove anything. Look I can reword it by saying the update is coming soon, it will leave you off the edge of your seat, and they will have info about it leak from time to time. That doesn't mean it's a movie theatre.
  7. Oh and the fact that it's coming out in a year and the fact that they mention it will be huge and whatnot probably means it will effect mostly everyone in the game so base your judgements accordingly. Now my guess is maybe a permanent doorway into scaperune? O.K. I have absolutely no idea, since i highly doubt it will be just some skill
  8. I've already tried mining the limsetone myself and banking it in varrock. Believe me this method is as slow as death. I'm very far from rich but even I said "to hell with it" and went back to oak planks.
  9. wait does this mean the shops won't take as much money as they used to? Also does this mean we can no longer world hop to get lower stocks? (No I haven't tried the update yet, I can't paly for a while).
  10. I haven't tried the new update but does this mean the shops will not buy our things for the same amount of money? Also does this mean we can't world hop anymore?
  11. I haven't taken any tech classes at my school so I don't know, although every school I've been to they said they had a program that tracks which sights you visited but I have never heard of one where the teacher can actually cotrol your screen.
  12. I'm sorry assassin but that argument and every variation of it is an incredibly stupid weak and illogical argument. I can use that argument in different situations as a last ditch effort to defend any manner of rediculous laws, watch. All computers with the internet must have mandatory government censorship of porn, Ebay and amazon. A lot of people don't even have internet acsess so stop grumbling. All video games that are not rated E will be banned. Don't complain just be grateful that you even HAVE video games unlike some countries. All cars must now be painted with a hideous brown color. Some people would give an arm and a leg just to have ANY car so stop moaning. Year: 1774. The price of tea has shot up significantly because of British tax laws. Some people can't get tea at ANY price so stop moaning about it. Or we can even try All students are required to write a 10 page essay every week, be grateful about this wonderful education we are forcing you to recieve since some people you have never met don't have the oppotunity to get such a fine education. (and even if you do write this 10 page essay a week they still won't get this fine education). As Nadril has pointed out, that's a strawman. I probably didn't phrase it well enough, but my point wasn't that service x isn't obtainable in an LEDC therefore service x should be used at all times to the nth degree. Rather, that the explicit premise of going to school is to work, learn and get a good education. Grumbling when you are pushed towards actually carrying out this premise is what I was knocking. Not the fact that he should be grateful for any education no matter how harsh becuase it isn't obtainable in an LEDC. Obviously if he was being abused by his teacher I wouldn't say, "don't grumble, at least he's teaching you" because that's not the idea or design of a school. Those counter-points you used were completely different. There is no specific intention for personal internet use, no intention or premise behind car colour, playing video games or the price of tea. In short, you go to school to work, not play games, and he shouldn't be able to expect otherwise. If you REALLY want to be technical then you are now presenting a different argument whereas before your argument was that people in a third world country would be grateful to learn and therefore we should be to. The premise of school is to learn, but once you finish today's lesson then you are no longer learning but instead sitting there doing nothing. Sure they could give you tommorrows lesson but eventually you'll finish every lesson before the year ends. So then what will you do with your free time? We're not grumbling "Oh they're making us learn, the horror." but instead "Why can't we have a little fun after we have completed all the work they have assigned us?"
  13. I'm taking a comedy class at school and some of the famous comedians we study got expelled from school for doing pranks (major pranks though). One got expelled for bringing a live cow into college, Another one impersonated the principle of the school and 'hired' a local construction crew to start building an attachment to the main building.
  14. trapsta, that senior prank was truly epic, you and those other 47 people shall probably become legends in that school forever. Anyway I truly hate zero tolerance policys and whatnot that are ruining people's chances to do senior pranks. Ignoring that I wodenr what i should do for a senior prank, in June.
  15. Well I've never had any senior pranks happen in the two high schools I've been in but I've seen things happen that were planned and very cool (although they don't qualify as pranks). In my old school, on St. Patrick's day a guy went to school in a quilt and started playing the bagpipe between classes, (he was really good) At my school we have a raised outdoor stage thingy that a lot of people eat lunch near (but not on). Anyway three people wnet to school one day dressed in costumes. One was batman, one was robin, and one was the joker. At lunch the guy in the joker costume went on the stage and started wandering around aimlessly. Then robin (who was with batman) shouted out "HOLY SMOKE BATMAN IT'S THE JOKER" (or something like that) and then batman and robin ran up to the stage and started a fake fight with the joker (by that I mean one man punches the air near another guy's face and the other guy pretends he was punched in the face). The joker was defeated and everyone cheered (no it was not halloween it just happened on some random day). The closest thing I've seen to a prank was not a senior prank. At our school we have open house night, where 8th graders who haven't decided where they want to go for high school can come to our school and meet the teachers and what not. The night before someone (or maybe it was a group, I'll never know) spray painted 3 things around the school. 1. two giant peace signs covering the lockers 2. on the floor the word smile, followed by a happy face. 3. A MASSIVE painting of a lighter igniting a heart in blue flame with a message "ignite love" under it. It was beutiful, in fact the next day people started up petitions to try to keep the painting there, there were all sorts of rumors, such as if 2/3 of the school signed it they would keep it, etc. I saw the principle staring at the painting and walked up and said "nice painting isn't is". She said "yeah, too bad we have to get rid of it". Apparently if they let that stay then it would encourage other people to spray things in the middle of the night. I sort of agreed, but I still liked the painting. Anway they got rid of the smile and the peace signs, but they couldn't completely get rid of all of the heart and you can still see it there, only it's a lot more faded then it was they day it was sprayed there (and some parts were completely removed like the gray thing that held the two parts of the lighter together). Perhaps I can find a picture of it and post it. I'm not sure if they ever found out who did it, although I'm not sure if they even tried to find out.
  16. What's wrong with laughing at humorous crime stories? Anyway I have a story I read online. Man stole $1,000,000 dollars in monopoly money. Parker brothers was planning a commercial for monopoly where a lot of monopoly money would rain down from the sky. So they transported the money in a big van. This fact spread through crime circles and was mistakingly told as being a van full of real money. So one of the criminals followed the van and stole the van as the driver left at a gas station to use the restroom. A local police chief said that he will be caught "he will not pass go he will not collect $200"
  17. Why bring up in kids in 3rd world countries anyway. Ok if I'm done with my work I will gladly let some 3rd world kid come in and use my computer to get an education. What's that, you're telling me that there aren't any 3rd world kids waiting in line to use my computer, that there is no way they can use my computer short of moving here? Oh well then may I play games? Honestly if you do the work early (and do a good job) why not have fun? It's a lot like talking to your classmates in any other class (although in this case you won't be making any noise). If you're worried about kids dumbing down the curriculum then you can set a minimum class average you need to play games.

  19. Why the hell did you have to bring this up? Why? It's all a matter of opinion and fanboyism nothing more.
  20. Yup games are not realistic, in fact part of their appeal (or at least some of them) is a complete escape from reality, even though some parts of them seem like they would fit in the real world. In GTA, you can shot be several times and not die (if you died after one shot the game would be too hard and not very fun), you can find chain saws and other weapons just lying around in the streets oh and if you kill enough people the army gets sent in and you can steal one of their tanks (sometimes). But GTA satirizes modern life in many of it's elements. Look at the car ads, they satirize somewhat common opinions, politcal positions, and the cultural obsession with sex (that last one it satirizes quite often, and there is sexual innuendo everywhere). I remember a radio ad that satirized anti-smoking campaigns (this is paraphrased, from my memory) Sometimes when you're on the street you hear this: "Man I think I'll have a smoke" "Hey man put that out there are kids here" But the converstaion should go like this "Man I think I'll have a smoke" "You murderer I might have kids one day" (gunshot) It then proceeded to suggest that they wipe out smoking permanently, I don't remember the exact words though, I couldn't stop laughing. Anyway one of my favorite games is hitman: blood money, it is advertised as being more realistic then its predecessors and it some ways it is but there are still some unrealistic things about it. In fact I remember a thread '1000 things I've learned from hitman' where we would bring up all the unrealistic things and plot holes about the game in a humorous way. It was hillarious and it passed 1000 (with some repeats). Now I don't care that it is unrealistic, in fact I hope they don't address all the problems and make the next hitman game too realistic beacuse then it would be too hard and not as fun. Hitman also satirizes modern life in its newspaper articles.
  21. I absolutely LOVE theft, in fact my theft is 69 . . . and I train mostly on HAM. Anyway I had a rough idea for a theft guilds myself, but with some minor treaking we can integrate the two ideas. I give you Oaksville (feel free to rename it whatever you wish). It is a pristine gated community filled with the extremely wealthy. Not only do you need unfathomable wealth to get in but you need to have 'status', and a grimy adventurer such as yourself will certainly not be able to get in. However this is where the theft guild comes in. You see any place with a lot of wealth attracts thieves, and Oaksville is so teaming with wealth that it's residents are stumped as to why the theives haven't even tried getting in. However they already have. Using a tunnel in the thiefs guild you can climb up into some bushes in Oaksville undetected. This is where things get interesting. Now all the shops in oaksville are way too pricey for you to consider buying anything. Fortunately you can always use your five finger discount. All the shops and people roaming around in Oaksville can be robbed if you are a clever enough theft. And it doesn't stop there. The houses can be robbed too. From the jewelry boxes and chests in the bedroom, to the busts, gold figures and paintings that align the walls. However it is not as easy as it sounds. You will first require entry into the house, and there are the pesky servants and guards that patrol the house all the time. Some times you will need to err dispose of these pests, and you may need their uniforms and keys to enter certain areas of the house where the real treasure lies (if you've ever played the hitman games it is sorta like that). Oh and there is the fact that the true valuables are hidden in safes which are not easy to locate. On a final note two very large, intricate golden statues have recently been sold at an auction and are currently being shipped to their new owner. Should a thief somehow steal these gigantic statues from the shipping company it would be a tremendous accomplishment. So great in fact that the thief might even be inclined to show off the stolen statues in his house. Oh and anything that is stolen from oaksville can be sold for black shillings or cash (except the giant statues, and any cash you steal).
  22. Well let's see, spend as much as possible on my house (that includes leveling), then I'm not sure what to do with the rest, probably buy a rare.
  23. I use steel arrows and I have a lot of them.
  24. I am level 41 ranged, and I want to know what are the best ways to get to 47, 50 and then around 60. Every method I try ends up painstakingly slow and boring. I have a yew long bow, and full green dragonhide (and no desire to obtain robin hood hats or ranged boots). Can someone please give me some advice, I REALLY don't want to have to use the tears of guthix to increase my ranged.
  25. Recipe for disaster, even though i haven't completely finished it (still have that monkey and sir amrik vaze), the plot was great. I also loved garden of tranquility, the ring of chaos (a) is very very useful, and the quest was very funny. I still remember the questions in his quiz. Oh and yeah death to the dorgeshuun only because stealing jewelry in the h.a.m storeroom was my only way of making money for a looooong time (plus i still think it's pretty fun).
